RULES AND REGULATIONS ON
STUDENT CONDUCT AND
DISCIPLINE
Any student who commits any
misbehavior in the University
shall be subject to disciplinary
action set by the University

Smoking is prohibited in the
University premises.

Students are required to attend
academic /school activities that
are conducted within the
University
3
Students are free to participate
in co-curricular activities
(a) Participation shall excuse them only
for the time missed in class
(b) Participation shall be the student’s
own personal responsibility

All posters or written
announcements (by CBOs) shall
bear the stamp of approval of
the CSAC / Dean

No student may participate in an
outside activity as
representative of the University
without being so authorized.

A student / organization may
use the name of the University
for any activity only upon prior
approval in writing by the Dean

Students should wear the
prescribed uniform of the
College on “Uniform” days.

(a) On “non-uniform days”, students are not
allowed to wear inappropriate attire
(bare back, spaghetti straps, see-
through, hanging blouse, very short
skirts, low-rise jeans, shorts, slippers,
sleeveless shirt (for men)
(b) PE uniform is to be worn only during PE
classes

Validated ID must be worn at all
times within the school
premises. Lost ID cards must be
reported immediately to CSAC /
Dean (Appendix C, Student Handbook)

Littering and writing on the
walls, doors, chairs or any
property of the University is
prohibited

Students should handle funds
or any important papers
entrusted to them by the
University or student
organizations with utmost care
and responsibility

All funds of student
organizations must be deposited
in a Bank. At the end of the
semester the Bank Book must
be deposited at CSAC Office for
safekeeping.

Conduct and discipline

  • 1. Provided in BU Student Handbook (2015), p. 44-57 RULES AND REGULATIONS ON STUDENT CONDUCT AND DISCIPLINE
  • 2. Any student who commits any misbehavior in the University shall be subject to disciplinary action set by the University 1
  • 3. Smoking is prohibited in the University premises. 2
  • 4. Students are required to attend academic /school activities that are conducted within the University 3
  • 5. Students are free to participate in co-curricular activities (a) Participation shall excuse them only for the time missed in class (b) Participation shall be the student’s own personal responsibility 4
  • 6. All posters or written announcements (by CBOs) shall bear the stamp of approval of the CSAC / Dean 5
  • 7. No student may participate in an outside activity as representative of the University without being so authorized. 6
  • 8. A student / organization may use the name of the University for any activity only upon prior approval in writing by the Dean 7
  • 9. Students should wear the prescribed uniform of the College on “Uniform” days. 8
  • 10. (a) On “non-uniform days”, students are not allowed to wear inappropriate attire (bare back, spaghetti straps, see- through, hanging blouse, very short skirts, low-rise jeans, shorts, slippers, sleeveless shirt (for men) (b) PE uniform is to be worn only during PE classes 8
  • 11. Validated ID must be worn at all times within the school premises. Lost ID cards must be reported immediately to CSAC / Dean (Appendix C, Student Handbook) 9
  • 12. Littering and writing on the walls, doors, chairs or any property of the University is prohibited 10
  • 13. Students should handle funds or any important papers entrusted to them by the University or student organizations with utmost care and responsibility 11
  • 14. All funds of student organizations must be deposited in a Bank. At the end of the semester the Bank Book must be deposited at CSAC Office for safekeeping. 12
  • 16. (any act which causes upon a student emotional, physical or psychological stress) Sanctions: 1. Reprimand 2. Suspension (3 months – 6 months) 3. Suspension (6 months & 1 day- 1 year) A BULLYING
  • 17. - any weapon which can kill Sanctions: 1. Suspension (1 week – 6 months) 2. Suspension ( 6 months & 1 day – 1 year) 3. Dismissal B CARRYING DEADLY WEAPONS
  • 18. - Conviction in court of a crime, rape, falsification of official documents, robbery Sanction: 1. Dismissal C CONVICTION OF CRIME INCLUDING MORAL TURPITUDE
  • 19. - Any act which interrupt or disturb performances, functions, gatherings, peaceful meetings, classes Sanction: 1. Suspension (1 week- 6 months) 2. Suspension (6 months & 1 day – 1 year) 3. Dismissal D CREATING DISORDER / SERIOUS DISTURBANCE WITHIN THE UNIVERSITY
  • 20. - willful behavior aimed at destroying properties of BU or its employees / guests Sanctions: 1. Suspension (6 mos), & payment / replacement 2. 6 months & 1 day suspension & payment / replacement 3. Dismissal E DAMAGING / DESTROYING ANY PROPERTY OF BU OR ITS EMPLOYEES AND GUESTS
  • 21. - Discourtesy by words or by deeds towards a BU official / personnel or student leaders Sanctions: 1. Reprimand 2. 1 week – 6 months suspension 3. Dismissal F DISCOURTESY TO SUPERIORS
  • 22. - Scandalous behavior committed inside or outside BU which cause disrepute to the University (petting, necking, sexual acts) Sanctions: 1. 1 week-6 months suspension 2. 6 months & 1 day - 1 year suspension 3. Dismissal G DISGRACEFUL & IMMORAL CONDUCT
  • 23. - cheating, distorting truth, showing lack of integrity, graft & corruption) Sanctions: 1. Suspension (number of days depends on gravity of dishonesty) 2. Dismissal H DISHONESTY
  • 24. Sanctions: 1. Reprimand 2. Suspension (1 week to 6 months) 3. Dismissal I DRINKING ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OR MANIFESTING DRUNKEN BEHAVIOR

  • 38. ALL CASES INVOLVING DISCIPLINE OF STUDENTS AND VIOLATIONS OF RULES AND REGULATIONS SHALL BE SUBJECT TO INVESTIGATION AND DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURES WHILE THE GIVING OF SANCTIONS SHALL BE DECIDED UPON BY THE DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE
