Working Title: The Stalker
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Audience: 15-25year olds. My film is for both the male and female to attract a larger/ wider
audience. The audience will range from A-C 1. However, if they are students they will be
categorised as E which is another way of saying unemployed. Many of my viewers will be
interested to see how to produce a short film, and possibly how to start a career in film
production or an industry of that type. The reason they will watch it is to see what other
people are doing around the world, just like I did when I researched different youtuber short
films. To understand how to create a film with meaning.
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc. Use the
Audience Classifications PowerPoint on Blackboard to help you develop this section.
Why would your project appeal to this person? Discuss each audience element in relation to
content (why would your product appeal to the age group? Why would your product appeal to the
gender? Etc.)
Rationale (approx. 100 words) Through the year I have come to understand that planning
and time management are key to success and producing excellent work. The more you plan
the less time it takes to film and less re-shoots will be done. Time management meansyou
keep to a plan and stay on schedule for your product, needless to say that this is important
because being on time is key and necessary to be seen as someone who can be relied
upon.
Review your progress throughout the year- what skills and knowledge have you acquired?
How has the subjects you have studied this year informed your choice for this project?
What have you studied and how will it have a direct impact upon your project?
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
The concept of my film is that of a stalker following 2 “victims” which turn out to just be normal
students that get handed food by this mysteriously creepy person. The whole point of the film is to
promote the sense of fear to the audience, to make them on edge and then to take that fear and
turn it into laughter and something to smile about. That was the main goal for me. I just want to
produce something unique.
What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make?
What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project/
Production Techniques (approx. 150 words)
Im not sure there are many specialist techniques that I will be adding to my film. Not
because I don’t want them but because I haven’t done enough research to know what
specialist shots are and how many assorted styles there are. The music and sound effects
will be created by myself and nothing will be used from the internet as a primary source. I
will use both natural and *man made* light sources to illuminate the characters and
background in my film.
What specialist techniques do you need to consider? (e.g. green screen, Steadicam, post-
production, sound, etc)
Does this require any specialist equipment/training/demos?
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
I plan on evaluating my work by discussing what I liked and disliked about my final product, how it
was filmed, production and time management. I will evaluate it fairly in a sensible and reliable way
to ensure that I can make my next short film better (If I create one in the future). I will discuss the
series of planning I had to do before hand to gather the knowledge I needed and will pin point all
the bad things or mistakes that I have made, so that I don’t make them again.
How do you plan to evaluate the work? Reference conducting on-going evaluation and your final
self-reflection, analysing your work and its outcomes.
