2. HOW DOES YOUR THRILLER
HOLD THE AUDIENCES
ATTENTION?
Our thriller holds the audiences attention by creating
suspense throughout, the girl is walking through dark lit back
streets on her own which makes the audience want to know
several questions: who is she? What is she doing? What's
going to happen? Where is she going?
All the while there is music playing throughout which
becomes slowly more drastic as the film goes on. This tells
the audience that something is about to happen and draws
them in, making them want to watch the rest of the film.
3. RESEARCH
We were struggling for plot story lines so I decided to do
research into people's phobias. The biggest phobia I found
was that of ghost girls; with videos online receiving
hundreds of millions of views that are based along this story
line.
We decided that the majority of people would be going for a
story line that consisted of a ghost girl at some point and we
should try for something different and unique. So we
decided to try going for the under the bed approach instead
because, we also found that people feel most safe in their
bed and it plays on the nostalgic sense of 'the monster
under the bed' fear.
4. FILM BACKGROUND
I was inspired for the bed scene by the hit movie: The
Grudge. The Grudge is an American remake of one of
the most successful Japanese horrors called 'Ju On'.
