The document outlines a 22 week schedule for creating a school music magazine. It details the tasks completed each week which included preliminary planning, research into existing magazines, audience profiling, questionnaire distribution, draft designs, page production including covers and spreads, photography planning, and incorporating feedback over multiple rounds of revisions.
2. Week Task Completed
1
During the first week, I started the
preliminary task and began to produce the
front cover of my school magazine. After
this, I then began on the contents page of
my school magazine.
2
In the second week, I continued with the
production of my contents page and made
any improvements to both my front cover
and contents page.
3. Week Task Completed
3
In the third week, I then started my
planning and research for my music
magazine by looking at existing media
products. I created a log book to show all
my research into my music magazine.
4
I then carried out further research and
decided on the genre of my magazine. I
then researched into existing magazines
of the same genre and analyzed them.
4. Week Task Completed
5
I continued with my planning and research
by producing an audience profile to help
me decide who the target audience were
of my magazine.
6
After creating my audience profile, I then
chose to create a questionnaire which I
planned to give to people who fit my
target audience. The results from my
questionnaire would then help me when it
came to producing my music magazine.
5. Week Task Completed
7
I then collected the results of the
questionnaires and based on these, I
produced hand drawn drafts which helped
me to visualize my magazine.
8
Using my hand drawn drafts and research
which I had completed, I started the
production of my front cover by adding
the basic conventions such as the
masthead and strapline.
6. Week Task Completed
9
I then continued with the production of
my front cover by adding more
conventions such as the coverlines and
began to manipulate my main image using
the magic wand tool.
10
I then finished manipulating my main
image and added it onto my front cover
and also added the main headline.
7. Week Task Completed
11
I then began on the production of my
contents page by adding the basic
conventions to show the layout of the
page and also added my editorial which I
had previously written as well as the
image for my contents page.
12
I then added the coverlines to the
contents page and also added a signature
to my editorial.
8. Week Task Completed
13
I then started the production of my
double page spread by manipulating my
main image using the magic wand tool
and started to write the interview.
14
I then added the interview and
differentiated the text so that readers
could easily see who was the interviewer
and who was the ‘star’ being interviewed.
9. Week Task Completed
15
I then added in a new main image, as the
first one which I had planned to use was
of poor quality and didn’t fill up the page.
As well as this, I also moved the main
headline and brief introduction so that it
wouldn’t overlap with the image.
16
Finally, I made a few final corrections
before asking for feedback from others.
10. Week Task Completed
17
I then started my evaluation where I
began to assess my production work by
looking at how similar it was to my
magazines of inspiration.
18
I carried on with the assessment of my
production work and started to add my
photography planning.
11. Week Task Completed
19
I then finished off my photography
planning for my front cover, contents
page and double page spread.
20
I then asked for feedback on my magazine
pages. I did this by asking my target
audience a number of questions and
getting them to write down their opinions
on a piece of paper.
12. Week Task Completed
21
I then made improvements on my magazine
pages based on the feedback I had received.
After I had made these changes, I then asked a
different group of people who were my target
audience to give me further improvements, by
creating a group chat and sending them
screenshots of my magazine pages.
22
After I had received further feedback, I then
made more improvements to make sure that my
music magazine was at a high standard. When
these improvements were made, this was my
final copy of my magazine pages.
