and activities to try that will enhance
DSLR and photography skills

2. • Take photos for each section, and add at least
one to each slide as an example
• Really think about each shot that you take –
you may want to take multiple photos and
then choose one (or more) for your slide
• You can use a camera and a mobile phone –
whatever works for you for each activity
• Re-format the slides and add new ones if you
need to

The rule of thirds are guidelines that places the subject in the left or right third of an image,
leaving the other two thirds more open. While there are other forms of composition, the rule of
thirds generally leads to compelling and well-composed shots.

candle, bottle etc…

8. One Object
1. Take 5 photos of one object, using different angles, shot sizes,
locations etc.

9. Textures
1. Take a photo of an interesting texture

10. Colours
1. Take one photo for each colour:
• Red
• Orange
• Yellow
• Green
• Blue
• Purple
• Pink
• Brown
• White
• Black
