left the location.”

USE THE CORRECT MODE
• Single mode – AF attempts to focus once and
stops once in focus. Good for static subjects.
• Continuous mode – AF continuously tries to
focus on subject. Good for moving subjects.
• Auto mode – Lets the camera decide.
• Manual – Use your own eyes to determine.
Good if AF is not working well.
FOCUS AND RECOMPOSE
• This method is good if all your AF points are stuck in the
middle of the frame.
• Use a sufficiently small aperture, for a deeper depth of
field.
• Use the center focus point, and focus on the subject.
• Do not release the focus button, but shift the entire frame.
• Now take a photo.
USE THE BACK FOCUS BUTTON
• People normally like to use the half-press shutter button to
focus.
• That is not good when you want to focus on fast moving
subjects.
• Use the back focus button to quickly focus, then use the
shutter button to take a photo.
• This method is much less clumsy.
TACK SHARP PHOTOS
• Set camera on tripod, use small aperture (f/8 or less).
• Set camera to mirror up mode if DSLR.
• Auto focus 1/3 into the scene, then set to live view mode.
Zoom in and manually adjust the focus.
• Make sure that everything is in focus, if not, use an even
smaller aperture.
• Take the photo.
GENERAL TIPS 1
• Do not strangle yourself with a short camera strap. Get a
good strap, and less the strain. Take better photos.
• Do not handle heavy cameras with 1 hand, use both
hands for stability.
• Hold the lens with one hand, and the grip with another.
• Use railings, walls and chairs as support.
• Do not stand on one leg or in an awkward position.
GENERAL TIPS 2
• Stand on both feet, have a stable footing for stable shots.
• Take a deep breath while taking photos. This will further
stabilize the shot.
• Keep the camera close to your body – This will also
improve the stability.
THANK YOU
