  2. 2. <ul><li>Tips for Portrait Photography: </li></ul><ul><li>Have fun! Don't work too hard to position your subject. </li></ul><ul><li>Get close. Fill the camera's viewfinder or LCD display with your subject to create pictures with greater impact. </li></ul><ul><li>Take candid pictures to show them working, playing, leaning against a banister chatting, or relaxing. </li></ul>P1-Portrait
  3. 3. P2- Scene Mode <ul><li>Using Scene Mode: </li></ul><ul><li>Choose one of the automatic modes to use based on your needs (close-up, landscape, sports, etc.) </li></ul><ul><li>Make sure the camera focuses correctly </li></ul><ul><li>Try filling the screen </li></ul>

P3- Depth of Field <ul><li>Capturing Depth of Field: </li></ul><ul><li>Use smaller apertures to increase DOF </li></ul><ul><li>To concentrate on one part of a scene, select a large aperture </li></ul><ul><li>If you cannot manually change aperture: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Use Portrait Mode to achieve a shallow DOF </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Use Landscape Mode to achieve a deep DOF </li></ul></ul>

P4- Picture of a Flower <ul><li>Tips for taking these types of pictures: </li></ul><ul><li>Remember great pictures are closer than you think. </li></ul><ul><li>In Macro mode, there is a very shallow depth of field. </li></ul><ul><li>Macro mode requires that you are very close to your subject. </li></ul><ul><li>Keep in mind the parts of the picture that needs to be in focus. </li></ul><ul><li>A flexible tripod is a great tool to use to get close to the ground. </li></ul>

P5- Light & Shadow <ul><li>Capturing Light & Shadow: </li></ul><ul><li>Consider how light and shadow can affect the mood </li></ul><ul><li>Qualities of light that influence the image are color, direction, intensity </li></ul><ul><li>Including shadows can make an ordinary composition more interesting. </li></ul>

P6- Rule of Thirds <ul><li>Tips for using the Rule of Thirds: </li></ul><ul><li>Don’t try too hard! </li></ul><ul><li>Expect the unexpected! </li></ul><ul><li>Visualize the grid while taking the pictures. </li></ul><ul><li>Keep in mind the part of the picture that needs to be in focus. </li></ul><ul><li>A tripod can help with keeping the camera still, so that the focus of your camera can capture the image that you want. </li></ul>

P7- Night Mode <ul><li>Using Night Mode: </li></ul><ul><li>Use night mode or select a slower shutter speed. </li></ul><ul><li>Steady the camera with a tripod. </li></ul><ul><li>Take a number of shots at different aperture and shutter speed combinations. </li></ul><ul><li>Try starting with an aperture of F4.0 or F5.6 for best depth of field and adjust shutter accordingly. </li></ul>

P8- Creative Filter <ul><li>Adding texture to a picture using PhotoShop: </li></ul><ul><li>Open picture file & texture file in PhotoShop </li></ul><ul><li>Create duplicate layer of picture file </li></ul><ul><li>Convert texture file to same size picture file </li></ul><ul><li>Copy & paste texture onto duplicate layer of picture file </li></ul><ul><li>Adjust opacity to get desired amount of texture and image </li></ul>
  10. 10. P9- Transforming Objects <ul><li>Tips: </li></ul><ul><li>Get close to your subject </li></ul><ul><li>Try out different angles…especially ones that you might not normally use </li></ul><ul><li>Make us look at objects differently than you might normally look at them </li></ul>

Early in the morning and late in the afternoon are the best times for taking outdoor photos. </li></ul><ul><li>Find An Eye-Catching Feature. You should try to find a feature to build your composition around. </li></ul><ul><li>Use the landscape mode. This camera mode can be the best way to capture that sense of isolation and distance the sky creates. </li></ul>P10- Ambiguous or Atmospheric Space
