2. COSTUME
Clothing plays a very important role in achieving the chick flick
and mystery genre. As it's a hybrid choosing a costume could
be hard. The clothing i plan to use are different than the usual
chick flick movies as i want to create enigma so in my opening
sequence i plan to use the colour red, i want my protagonist to
dress up in the colour red as the colour red gives a feeling of
power and danger and that connects to the mystery genre.
A red robe would suit my opening sequence perfectly as it
represents my protagonists character which shows that there's
something underneath that robe and that she’s hiding
something which links to my title “loubs and LIES”.
3. MAKEUP
The makeup i want my protagonist to have on is quite heavy makeup
and dark as this represents her character as being a dark and mean
female which links to the genre chick flick as it mostly contains mean
girls.
Heavy makeup meaning very dark and black eyelashes, dark red
lipstick to link to the mystery genre although have a pale face. As my
opening sequence is targeting females, females will understand that
having heavy makeup means a girl wants to be noticed and could be
very confident as a girl with very natural makeup could just be
innocent, boring and basic as she doesnt like to stand out.
My character is represented with heavy makeup to give the audience
a feeling of mystery from the colour red and violent eyelashes.
4. PROPS
The props i want to use in my opening sequence are makeup,
perfume, jewellery such as expensive watch and bracelets to
engage my target audience and give them a feeling of a chick flick
genre. I as well want to include a few shots of the louboutin
collection and the bags and clothes to present to the audience the
wealthy life of my protagonist.
For the mystery genre to show i'm going to have a knife with fake
blood on, lipstick in a plastic bag, brass knuckles and a picture of a
girl to create enigma.
