Telia (Sweden) Company Acquires Critical 5g Spectrum In Sweden For Extended
Network Leadership
The Swedish Post and Telecom Authority has announced the results of the
frequency auction that took place on January 19. Telia has secured a 120 MHz
frequency block in the 3.5 GHz band, a critical asset that will lay the groundwork
for the continued expansion of 5G across Sweden and help strengthen the digital
competitiveness in the coming years. Telia launched Sweden’s first large-scale
public 5G network on May 25, 2020, which has now been deployed to 20 cities,
from Luleå in the north to Malmö in the south. The new spectrum in the 3.5 GHz
frequency band will allow Telia to continue its ambitious rollout of 5G to more
places and people across the country. High frequency bands like 3.5 GHz will be
especially important in densely populated areas and to build dedicated 5G mobile
networks to connect critical assets in for example manufacturing, at ports and in
healthcare. The licenses for the 3.5 HGz band will be valid for 25 years starting
shortly, and the price for the new frequency block is EUR 75 million. The
payment to PTS will be made within 30 days.
Executive Commentary
“With the acquisition of 120 MHz, which is more than any other operator in
Sweden, Telia demonstrates its commitment to extend its network leadership
position in Sweden with 5G. The new frequencies will allow us to build fast
and energy efficient 5G networks with low latency that will help drive the
development of sustainable digital societies by offering consumers,
enterprises and public sector state-of-the-art mobile connectivity,” says A
Telia Sweden.

Deutsche Telekom and Cellnex agree to combine tower business in the Netherlands and
become anchor investors in the newly established Digital Infrastructure Vehicle
Deutsche Telekom AG (Deutsche Telekom) and Cellnex Telecom S.A. have signed an agreement to merge their
respective Dutch mobile communications infrastructure companies into Cellnex Netherlands BV (Cellnex NL). Both
companies will also become anchor investors in the newly established and independently managed Digital Infrastructure
Vehicle (DIV), an investment fund focused on European digital infrastructure. Deutsche Telekom operates its Dutch
telecommunications tower business in T-Mobile Infra BV, with ca. 3,150 towers and rooftop sites. The business of
Cellnex NL, a subsidiary of Cellnex, comprises 984 cell sites. The enlarged company, with ca. 4,310 sites including
planned new build of 180 sites, will be the largest independent cell mobile tower company in the Netherlands and will
provide excellent geographic coverage. T-Mobile Netherlands will continue to have full access to the contributed
infrastructure through a long-term service agreement at arm’s length. In a first step Deutsche Telekom is transferring
T-Mobile Infra to the newly established and independently managed fund Digital Infrastructure Vehicle (DIV). Deutsche
Telekom will receive a EUR 250 million cash payment out of the transaction and a shareholding in DIV in exchange for
the T-Mobile Infra business. This translates into a capital commitment of Deutsche Telekom of ca. EUR 400 million to
the fund. Cellnex has also agreed, as part of the transaction, to commit EUR 200 million of capital to DIV. In a second
step, DIV will contribute the received T-Mobile Infra business to Cellnex NL. In return, DIV receives approximately 38
percent economic interest in Cellnex NL. In addition to the anchor investors Deutsche Telekom and Cellnex, DIV will
be open to institutional investors. Deutsche Telekom intends to hold a limited partner stake of around 25 percent in the
fund after the envisaged third-party investments. DIV will focus on promoting digital infrastructure investments across
Europe into fiber, towers, and data centers, with the goal of delivering attractive risk-adjusted returns. DIV as a fund will
be independently managed by a team of investment and capital market experts led by Vicente Vento, co-founder of
Deutsche Telekom Capital Partners. Upon closing of the transaction Deutsche Telekom will deconsolidate T-Mobile
Infra B.V. which currently generates ca. EUR 60 million of revenues and around EUR 30 million of EBITDA after
leases.
Executive Commentary
"The agreement with Cellnex underlines the high value of passive mobile infrastructure. We are creating a leading
tower company in the Netherlands, which should unlock synergies and accelerate our 5G rollout. At the same time,
DIV opens an innovative way to finance telecom infrastructure in partnership with institutional investors," said
CEO of Deutsche Telekom. "The Corona crisis has shown stable broadband connections are essential for people to
communicate, both professionally and privately. That is why we are once again strengthening our commitment to
digital infrastructure in Europe."

Pushed to the Limit: A CMOS-base (USA) transceiver for beyond 5G
applications at 300 GHz
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
5
Solution Description
Scientists at Tokyo Institute of Technology and NTT Corporation develop a novel CMOS-based transceiver for wireless communications at the
300 GHz band, enabling future beyond-5G applications. Their design addresses the challenges of operating CMOS technology at its practical limit
and represents the first wideband CMOS phased-array system to operate at such elevated frequencies. Communication at higher frequencies is a
perpetually sought-after goal in electronics because of the greater data rates that would be possible and to take advantage of underutilized portions
of the electromagnetic spectrum. Many applications beyond 5G, as well as the IEEE802.15.3d standard for wireless communications, call for
transmitters and receivers capable of operating close to or above 300 GHz. Unfortunately, our trusty CMOS technology is not entirely suitable for
such elevated frequencies. Near 300 GHz, amplification becomes considerably difficult. Although a few CMOS-based transceivers for 300 GHz
have been proposed, they either lack enough output power, can only operate in direct line-of-sight conditions, or require a large circuit area to be
implemented. To address these issues, a team of scientists from Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech), in collaboration with NTT
Corporation (NTT), proposed an innovative design for a 300 GHz CMOS-based transceiver (Figure 1). Their work will be presented in the Digests
of Technical Papers in the 2021 IEEE ISSCC (International Solid-State Circuits Conference), a conference where the latest advances in solid-state
and integrated circuits are exposed.

Rogers (Canada) for Business Expands Network to Help Connect More
Rural B.C. Communities
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com

Solution Description
Rogers for Business announced that it has expanded its network to more rural communities in B.C., leveraging financial support from the
provincially funded Connecting British Columbia program, administered by Northern Development Initiative Trust, to provide broadband services
to underserved Indigenous, remote and rural communities. In April 2020, Northern Development Initiative Trust launched the provincially funded
COVID-19 Response Intake, a program that provides grants to quickly boost community connectivity. Twenty-nine existing cellular towers have
been upgraded by Rogers to provide additional cellular coverage as well as broadband services to 52 communities throughout B.C. in the
Okanagan, Cariboo, Central and Northern B.C. and on Vancouver Island. Rogers for Business is leveraging Fixed Wireless Access technology in
support of businesses and communities across Canada, which utilizes cellular towers to deliver wireless broadband services where fibre is difficult
to lay and maintain. As technology continues to evolve, new ways to provide connectivity to underserved communities is emerging, making it
easier to reach areas that were traditionally not easily assessible. Canada’s vast geography means it is challenging and costly to connect many rural,
remote and Indigenous communities. Partnering with the government provides much needed funding to expand connectivity to more underserved
communities and funding programs such as the Connecting British Columbia program encourage a coordinated approach between the public and
private sectors.

Telekom (Germany) focuses on research into quantum technologies
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
17
Solution Description
Under the leadership of its research and development department, the Telekom Innovation Laboratories, Deutsche Telekom is participating in the PlanQK
project funded by the German Federal Ministry of the Economy. The consortium consists of 15 partners and 33 associated partners. Within this framework,
Telekom is researching and testing potential use cases – particularly from the perspective of a network operator. Quantum computers promise an exponential
increase in processing speed for selected problem classes. For example, in combinatorial optimization problems or the training of AI models (AI: artificial
intelligence). In communication science, Shor's algorithm is usually considered the "killer application" of quantum computing. This is because quantum
computers can use it to attack security infrastructures. In the PlanQK project, T-Labs provides some specific use cases from the field of telecommunications.
These include the optimization of communication networks, Industry 4.0 applications or AI-clustering problems for customer segments. These applications
have a high level of complexity and, if the problem exceeds a critical size, can only be calculated classically with great difficulty. Here, quantum algorithms
promise the solution. With growing size, quality and processing speed, quantum computers could find their way into Telekom’s operational business.
However, the goal is not only to evaluate and demonstrate the applicability of current quantum technology for use at Telekom. The PlanQK project also seeks
to prevent the risk of any one company achieving a dominant market position and setting de facto industry standards. This project is targeted at ensuring the
development and establishment of a vendor-independent platform and associated ecosystem for quantum-assisted artificial intelligence. Users could then, for
example, compile solutions for their company or commission them via the cloud or a quantum app store.

OpenAP (USA) Launches Supply-Side Platform to Surface Available TV Advertising
Inventory for Buyers, Brings Transparency and Visibility to Marketplace
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
21
Solution Description
OpenAP, the advanced advertising company bringing simplicity and scale to audience-based campaigns in television, announced the launch of its new supply-side
platform (SSP) that provides advertisers access to available linear inventory from TV publishers. The launch delivers on requests from advertisers for more transparency
and visibility of the TV marketplace and maximizes investments buyers and sellers have made in data and technology by enabling more sophisticated buying of advanced
TV across premium viewing environments. Built on APIs, OpenAP’s SSP now provides approved buyside tools the ability to access and retrieve available inventory from
across the largest footprint of national TV publishers. Once integrated, buyers log into their existing systems to plan and buy media through an automated workflow using
accurate and standardized information on audiences and inventory avails. Buyers build optimized plans by selecting networks and dayparts based on inventory that has
been supplied by the sellers, then configure a plan by selecting cross-publisher media using their own optimization processes. Forecasted reach and frequency are
provided for plans and resulting orders are sent to participating TV publishers. Each publisher reviews and confirms orders and provides final media plan to the buyer.
The integration enables the buying process to take place within a brand or agency’s existing system, adding valuable workflow standardization and automation for buyers
to control cross-publisher optimization. As marketers continue to invest in data and technology, this announcement signals considerable efforts made by both advertisers
and TV publishers to maximize and accelerate those investments. OpenAP represents the largest cross-publisher footprint of inventory avails accessible to buyers in one
environment, including AMC Networks, Fox Corporation, NBCUniversal, Univision and ViacomCBS, with inventory coming soon from A+E Networks and The
Weather Channel. Combined inventory will reach virtually all U.S. households.

Solution Description
VEON Ltd. a leading global provider of connectivity and internet services, announces that Beeline, VEON’s operations in Russia, has
completed a large-scale project to improve the quality and availability of mobile internet in Moscow. The project included the redistribution
of the 2100 frequency range from 3G to 4G and an expansion in the frequency range used in the 4G network from 30 to 45 MHz. This has
enabled an increase in the average speed of mobile internet by up to 30%, with peak speeds now reaching up to 350 Mbit/sec. The project
involved installing more than 2,300 new LTE-2100 base stations in Moscow, as well as 800 new 3G base stations in order to enhance data
services and at the same time maintain high quality in voice communications. Mobile traffic on Beeline’s 4G network in Moscow grew by
more than 60% year-on-year in December 2020 as a consequence, bringing its share of the total volume of Beeline’s mobile traffic to over
90%. Beeline’s 4G users are also more active than before, with the average volume of 4G traffic per user increasing by 36% year-on-year in
December. In December 2020, VEON announced another milestone in Beeline’s network development, as coverage of all Moscow metro
stations with 4G was achieved. Beeline is performing similar network enhancement projects across various Russian regions, including
frequency redistribution, which will similarly support the increase in the average speed of mobile internet services.

reality (AR) versions of the art on view that can then be displayed virtually at home. The Met Unframed is accessible from any 4G or 5G smart device, and

Verizon 5G Ultra Wideband. These users can watch the objects come alive in AR by utilizing high-speed responsiveness and ultra low lag. The
custom-designed digital galleries were rendered exclusively for The Met Unframed and evoke or nearly replicate spaces from across the Museum. The virtual

collection—to be experienced like never before. Visitors to The Met Unframed are first welcomed into an intricately detailed rendering of the Museum’s

Selected from nearly 350 entries from underrepresented talent right across the North of England, Box of Tricks and Sky Studios are delighted to announce that the two winners
of the inaugural Screen/Play Award are Conway McDermott and Sarah Tarbit. Each writer will be awarded £10,250 to write a 70-minute stage play and a 20-minute screenplay
inspired by a single central idea to be developed with support from the two partners throughout 2021. Conway McDermott [they/them] is a trans non-binary writer from
Liverpool. They describe their work as genre fiction, using fantasy, history, sci-fi and mysticism to “create a fuller landscape of worlds and stories for weird working-class
queers to inhabit”. For Screen/Play, Conway will develop The Priestess - a trans coming of age story that crashes into a psychosexual horror full of dark humour. Sarah Tarbit
[she/her] is from Ashington, Northumberland, one of the most deprived areas in the country. Her work documents life in the region and often calls for social and political change.
In 2020, she was Highly Commended for the Sid Chaplin Award (part of the Northern Writers’Awards) and had two short plays produced by Live Theatre in Newcastle. For
Screen/Play, Sarah will develop You Belong Here exploring the effects suicide can have on a community and the people left behind. Launched last year to unearth exceptional
Northern talent from communities currently underrepresented on stage and screen, the Screen/Play Award will see both writers this year develop a brand-new play for Box of
Tricks and a short screenplay with Sky Studios. In addition to developing new scripts with the two winning writers, Box of Tricks and Sky Studios will support the 15 shortlisted
writers through a tailored package of masterclasses – offering an invaluable opportunity to explore their craft and the world of screenwriting with industry experts. As well as

Comcast Corporation announced that it received four EmmyAwards for Technology & Engineering from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences . In a year marked by
the pandemic, and a global shift to working from home, these Technical Emmy Awards demonstrate Comcast’s continued commitment to innovation and technology leadership. The
awards, granted for four key innovations in video and advertising delivery, reflect Comcast’s focus on not only innovating for customers, but also for industry partners who leverage
Comcast’s technology platforms to better serve their customers. The Emmy Awards were for:
• Large-Scale Deployment of Server-side Ad Manipulation and/or Playout for Adaptive Bitrate Video Distribution. This technology enabled Comcast to insert advertisements in the
cloud or server side for IP Streamed Video content, greatly improving the streaming TV experience for our customers by reducing video buffering caused by advertisements.
• Development of the Event Signaling and Management (ESAM) API Standard. Won in partnership with The Society of Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE ISBE), CableLabs

Deutsche Telekom (Germany) recognized for climate protection work

Prestigious accolades have been bestowed on Deutsche Telekom for its commitment to climate protection: The non-profit organization CDP
(Carbon Disclosure Project) and the Dow Jones Sustainability Index have once again listed Deutsche Telekom as a leading company in the fight
against global climate change. CDP examined the climate protection work of more than 9,600 companies in 2020. Only 270 of them were given
the top award. Deutsche Telekom was included on the "Climate A List" for the fifth time in a row, confirming its place among the top companies.
The judgement of the highly regarded CDP is an important global resource for investors that want to invest in the transformation to a green
economy. Deutsche Telekom was also listed in the renowned Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) again – for the sixth time in a row. Of the 78
participants evaluated in total in the telecommunications services sector, only eight were listed in the "DJSI World." And a mere five
telecommunications companies were included in the "DJSI Europe." Only the top companies of each sector are included in the indexes and thus
recommended to sustainability-oriented investors as top investments. In addition, Deutsche Telekom's climate impact reporting was given the
Building Public Trust Award 2020. The prize, awarded by auditing firm PwC, is given to companies whose annual and sustainability reports
provide particularly credible, transparent information on their sustainability work. Deutsche Telekom was the award winner for the DAX 30.
Among other things, the expert jury praised the company's credible communication of its climate targets and its science-based climate strategy.

IPG (USA) is Recognized with Two ESG Honors

Interpublic Group announced that the company has been named once again to two important measures of diversity, equity and inclusion. For the second year, IPG has been included
on the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index, and for the 12th year, the company has been named to the HRC Corporate Equality Index. The Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI)
brings transparency to gender-related practices and policies at publicly listed companies increasing the breadth of environmental, social, governance (ESG) data available to investors.
The comprehensive, transparent GEI scoring methodology allows investors to assess company performance and compare across industry peer groups. The reference index measures
gender equality across five pillars: female leadership and talent pipeline, equal pay and gender pay parity, inclusive culture, sexual harassment policies, and pro-women brand. Through
disclosure of gender-related metrics using the GEI framework, the firms included in the 2021 GEI have committed to providing a comprehensive look at their investment in workplace
gender equality and the communities in which they operate, raising the bar of what should be expected from other companies within the same industry. IPG was included in this year’s
index for scoring at or above a global threshold established by Bloomberg to reflect a high level of disclosure and overall performance across the framework’s five pillars. IPG’s score
of 100 on the HRC 2021 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ
workplace equality, earns the company, once again, a designation as one of the Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality. The CEI rates companies on detailed criteria falling under
four central pillars:
• Non-discrimination policies across business entities;
• Equitable benefits for LGBTQ workers and their families;
• Supporting an inclusive culture; and,
• Corporate social responsibility.

BBVA streamlines its online advertising campaigns with a new digital
marketing tool from Telefónica (Spain)
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
41
BBVA has become the first company in Spain to implement in its online advertising campaigns the Tailor-made Ads solution, a contextual marketing tool created by
Telefónica's Data Innovation unit. The close collaboration between BBVA's marketing team and the unit's staff has resulted in the deployment of this solution in the
bank's various advertising campaigns in recent months, leading to an average improvement of 50% in the click ratio, 60% in the cost-per-click and 70% in the
cost-per-lead, Thanks to its many products and work models, not only can Telefónica carry out performance campaigns, in which the aim is to generate sales, but also
branding campaigns, which helps in the brand building process, depending on the objectives of each. The tool is capable of detecting behaviour and consumption patterns
thanks to the development of Active Learning and Deep Learning algorithms. This makes it easier for the user to be offered the most appealing product at the most
suitable time. Telefónica and BBVA began their collaboration in 2019 with the advertising campaign aimed at branding Valora, BBVA's online tool that helps you
discover the estimated value of the house you want to buy or rent. After seeing how good the results were, the bank tested this tool in five other campaigns of different
types, targeting both individuals and companies. In the branding aspect, the new tool has enabled 61% more efficiency in cost-per-click (CPC). What's more, the
click-through rate (CTR), the basic indicator for measuring the effectiveness of digital advertising campaigns, has risen by 54% as a result of the refinements
implemented by this new model. Both indicators point directly to the quality of the data used by Telefónica, once the public affected felt identified with the campaign.
In 2020, BBVA decided to go one step further by testing this tool in campaigns aimed at attracting new customers. The results also exceeded expectations thanks to
Telefónica's qualified traffic, reducing the cost-per-lead (CPL), the cost of acquiring a potential customer, by an average of 78%.

Orange International Carriers signs deal with Côte Ouest Audiovisuel to supply
its content delivery solution in West Africa
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com

The wholesale arm of Orange Group, International Carriers, has signed a commercial agreement with the African content distribution player, Côte Ouest
Audiovisuel. Orange is partnering with Côte Ouest Audiovisuel to supply network access and content delivery services in West Africa using its Media
Delivery Boost (MDB) solution. This deal introduces a new value proposition that facilitates TV and Over-The-Top (OTT) content delivery using the Orange
CDN. This means that, as a new customer for Orange CDN, Côte Ouest Audiovisuel can now distribute its content to all its subscribers, replacing the satellite
delivery that was previously used. It allows Côte Ouest Audiovisuel to offer a new value proposition of content and network infrastructure with Orange as
its telco partner in French-speaking Africa. An intelligent content delivery network is the core element for delivering media quality, speed, and reliability
because it enables providers to bring content closer to their end users. This is vital for service providers in Africa where connectivity is one of the main
hurdles to delivering high-quality communication solutions. As the worldwide CDN market continues to increase dramatically, forecasts by Cisco¹ predict
that by 2022, CDN will deliver 72% of all Internet traffic. Content Providers around the world are therefore moving to OTT distribution for their content to
replace satellite, in order to reach a global scale and adapt to the new ways of consuming content. Orange Media Delivery Boost solution is supporting the
Côte Ouest Audiovisuel strategy of providing an efficient and secure platform for content streaming services in the entertainment and media sector, and is a
critical component in delivering a best-in-class experience over the Internet.

It provides professionals with the possibility of practising protocols of action in high-risk situations on a regular basis. This is also a reinvestment. • Kymatio: this is a SaaS (Software as a Service) that identifies, analyses and provides everything required to manage employees’ cyber risks. Developed in Madrid, its solution has become more relevant than ever in protecting employees within the context of teleworking. Kymatio also forms part of the portfolio of Telefónica Tech Ventures. • Proppos: this Catalan startup is developing a smart and autonomous self-payment system for canteens, cafeterias and fast food restaurants. Pridatect forms part of the portfolio of Telefónica Tech Ventures. • Galgus: this startup is committed to providing a faster Wi-Fi connection. Its Cognitive Hotspot Technology (CHT) optimises the efficiency of Wi-Fi access points and routers, thus increasing the Wi-Fi performance by up to five times. It plays a key role in boosting connectivity in remote and sparsely populated areas. • Kenmei: this company from Valencia provides autonomous solutions for mobile network operators. • 8. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consec- tetuer Financial, M&A Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Telia (Sweden) Company Acquires Critical 5g Spectrum In Sweden For Extended Network Leadership The Swedish Post and Telecom Authority has announced the results of the frequency auction that took place on January 19. Telia has secured a 120 MHz frequency block in the 3.5 GHz band, a critical asset that will lay the groundwork for the continued expansion of 5G across Sweden and help strengthen the digital competitiveness in the coming years. Telia launched Sweden’s first large-scale public 5G network on May 25, 2020, which has now been deployed to 20 cities, from Luleå in the north to Malmö in the south. The new spectrum in the 3.5 GHz frequency band will allow Telia to continue its ambitious rollout of 5G to more places and people across the country. High frequency bands like 3.5 GHz will be especially important in densely populated areas and to build dedicated 5G mobile networks to connect critical assets in for example manufacturing, at ports and in healthcare. The licenses for the 3.5 HGz band will be valid for 25 years starting shortly, and the price for the new frequency block is EUR 75 million. The payment to PTS will be made within 30 days. Executive Commentary “With the acquisition of 120 MHz, which is more than any other operator in Sweden, Telia demonstrates its commitment to extend its network leadership position in Sweden with 5G. The new frequencies will allow us to build fast and energy efficient 5G networks with low latency that will help drive the development of sustainable digital societies by offering consumers, enterprises and public sector state-of-the-art mobile connectivity,” says A Telia Sweden. • 9. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consec- tetuer Financial, M&A Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Deutsche Telekom and Cellnex agree to combine tower business in the Netherlands and become anchor investors in the newly established Digital Infrastructure Vehicle Deutsche Telekom AG (Deutsche Telekom) and Cellnex Telecom S.A. have signed an agreement to merge their respective Dutch mobile communications infrastructure companies into Cellnex Netherlands BV (Cellnex NL). Both companies will also become anchor investors in the newly established and independently managed Digital Infrastructure Vehicle (DIV), an investment fund focused on European digital infrastructure. Deutsche Telekom operates its Dutch telecommunications tower business in T-Mobile Infra BV, with ca. 3,150 towers and rooftop sites. The business of Cellnex NL, a subsidiary of Cellnex, comprises 984 cell sites. The enlarged company, with ca. 4,310 sites including planned new build of 180 sites, will be the largest independent cell mobile tower company in the Netherlands and will provide excellent geographic coverage. T-Mobile Netherlands will continue to have full access to the contributed infrastructure through a long-term service agreement at arm’s length. In a first step Deutsche Telekom is transferring T-Mobile Infra to the newly established and independently managed fund Digital Infrastructure Vehicle (DIV). Deutsche Telekom will receive a EUR 250 million cash payment out of the transaction and a shareholding in DIV in exchange for the T-Mobile Infra business. This translates into a capital commitment of Deutsche Telekom of ca. EUR 400 million to the fund. Cellnex has also agreed, as part of the transaction, to commit EUR 200 million of capital to DIV. In a second step, DIV will contribute the received T-Mobile Infra business to Cellnex NL. In return, DIV receives approximately 38 percent economic interest in Cellnex NL. In addition to the anchor investors Deutsche Telekom and Cellnex, DIV will be open to institutional investors. Deutsche Telekom intends to hold a limited partner stake of around 25 percent in the fund after the envisaged third-party investments. DIV will focus on promoting digital infrastructure investments across Europe into fiber, towers, and data centers, with the goal of delivering attractive risk-adjusted returns. DIV as a fund will be independently managed by a team of investment and capital market experts led by Vicente Vento, co-founder of Deutsche Telekom Capital Partners. Upon closing of the transaction Deutsche Telekom will deconsolidate T-Mobile Infra B.V. which currently generates ca. EUR 60 million of revenues and around EUR 30 million of EBITDA after leases. Executive Commentary "The agreement with Cellnex underlines the high value of passive mobile infrastructure. We are creating a leading tower company in the Netherlands, which should unlock synergies and accelerate our 5G rollout. At the same time, DIV opens an innovative way to finance telecom infrastructure in partnership with institutional investors," said CEO of Deutsche Telekom. "The Corona crisis has shown stable broadband connections are essential for people to communicate, both professionally and privately. That is why we are once again strengthening our commitment to digital infrastructure in Europe." For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com Description 4

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit, sed diam nonummy nib Solution Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Pushed to the Limit: A CMOS-base (USA) transceiver for beyond 5G applications at 300 GHz For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 5 Solution Description Scientists at Tokyo Institute of Technology and NTT Corporation develop a novel CMOS-based transceiver for wireless communications at the 300 GHz band, enabling future beyond-5G applications. Their design addresses the challenges of operating CMOS technology at its practical limit and represents the first wideband CMOS phased-array system to operate at such elevated frequencies. Communication at higher frequencies is a perpetually sought-after goal in electronics because of the greater data rates that would be possible and to take advantage of underutilized portions of the electromagnetic spectrum. Many applications beyond 5G, as well as the IEEE802.15.3d standard for wireless communications, call for transmitters and receivers capable of operating close to or above 300 GHz. Unfortunately, our trusty CMOS technology is not entirely suitable for such elevated frequencies. Near 300 GHz, amplification becomes considerably difficult. Although a few CMOS-based transceivers for 300 GHz have been proposed, they either lack enough output power, can only operate in direct line-of-sight conditions, or require a large circuit area to be implemented. To address these issues, a team of scientists from Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech), in collaboration with NTT Corporation (NTT), proposed an innovative design for a 300 GHz CMOS-based transceiver (Figure 1). Their work will be presented in the Digests of Technical Papers in the 2021 IEEE ISSCC (International Solid-State Circuits Conference), a conference where the latest advances in solid-state and integrated circuits are exposed.

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit, sed diam nonummy nib Solution Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Telekom (Germany) focuses on research into quantum technologies For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 17 Solution Description Under the leadership of its research and development department, the Telekom Innovation Laboratories, Deutsche Telekom is participating in the PlanQK project funded by the German Federal Ministry of the Economy. The consortium consists of 15 partners and 33 associated partners. Within this framework, Telekom is researching and testing potential use cases – particularly from the perspective of a network operator. Quantum computers promise an exponential increase in processing speed for selected problem classes. For example, in combinatorial optimization problems or the training of AI models (AI: artificial intelligence). In communication science, Shor's algorithm is usually considered the "killer application" of quantum computing. This is because quantum computers can use it to attack security infrastructures. In the PlanQK project, T-Labs provides some specific use cases from the field of telecommunications. These include the optimization of communication networks, Industry 4.0 applications or AI-clustering problems for customer segments. These applications have a high level of complexity and, if the problem exceeds a critical size, can only be calculated classically with great difficulty. Here, quantum algorithms promise the solution. With growing size, quality and processing speed, quantum computers could find their way into Telekom’s operational business. However, the goal is not only to evaluate and demonstrate the applicability of current quantum technology for use at Telekom. The PlanQK project also seeks to prevent the risk of any one company achieving a dominant market position and setting de facto industry standards. This project is targeted at ensuring the development and establishment of a vendor-independent platform and associated ecosystem for quantum-assisted artificial intelligence. Users could then, for example, compile solutions for their company or commission them via the cloud or a quantum app store.

Customer Success Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable BBVA streamlines its online advertising campaigns with a new digital marketing tool from Telefónica (Spain) For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 41 BBVA has become the first company in Spain to implement in its online advertising campaigns the Tailor-made Ads solution, a contextual marketing tool created by Telefónica's Data Innovation unit. The close collaboration between BBVA's marketing team and the unit's staff has resulted in the deployment of this solution in the bank's various advertising campaigns in recent months, leading to an average improvement of 50% in the click ratio, 60% in the cost-per-click and 70% in the cost-per-lead, Thanks to its many products and work models, not only can Telefónica carry out performance campaigns, in which the aim is to generate sales, but also branding campaigns, which helps in the brand building process, depending on the objectives of each. The tool is capable of detecting behaviour and consumption patterns thanks to the development of Active Learning and Deep Learning algorithms. This makes it easier for the user to be offered the most appealing product at the most suitable time. Telefónica and BBVA began their collaboration in 2019 with the advertising campaign aimed at branding Valora, BBVA's online tool that helps you discover the estimated value of the house you want to buy or rent. After seeing how good the results were, the bank tested this tool in five other campaigns of different types, targeting both individuals and companies. In the branding aspect, the new tool has enabled 61% more efficiency in cost-per-click (CPC). What's more, the click-through rate (CTR), the basic indicator for measuring the effectiveness of digital advertising campaigns, has risen by 54% as a result of the refinements implemented by this new model. Both indicators point directly to the quality of the data used by Telefónica, once the public affected felt identified with the campaign. In 2020, BBVA decided to go one step further by testing this tool in campaigns aimed at attracting new customers. The results also exceeded expectations thanks to Telefónica's qualified traffic, reducing the cost-per-lead (CPL), the cost of acquiring a potential customer, by an average of 78%. Description

Partner Ecosystem Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Orange International Carriers signs deal with Côte Ouest Audiovisuel to supply its content delivery solution in West Africa For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 45 The wholesale arm of Orange Group, International Carriers, has signed a commercial agreement with the African content distribution player, Côte Ouest Audiovisuel. Orange is partnering with Côte Ouest Audiovisuel to supply network access and content delivery services in West Africa using its Media Delivery Boost (MDB) solution. This deal introduces a new value proposition that facilitates TV and Over-The-Top (OTT) content delivery using the Orange CDN. This means that, as a new customer for Orange CDN, Côte Ouest Audiovisuel can now distribute its content to all its subscribers, replacing the satellite delivery that was previously used. It allows Côte Ouest Audiovisuel to offer a new value proposition of content and network infrastructure with Orange as its telco partner in French-speaking Africa. An intelligent content delivery network is the core element for delivering media quality, speed, and reliability because it enables providers to bring content closer to their end users. This is vital for service providers in Africa where connectivity is one of the main hurdles to delivering high-quality communication solutions. As the worldwide CDN market continues to increase dramatically, forecasts by Cisco¹ predict that by 2022, CDN will deliver 72% of all Internet traffic. Content Providers around the world are therefore moving to OTT distribution for their content to replace satellite, in order to reach a global scale and adapt to the new ways of consuming content. Orange Media Delivery Boost solution is supporting the Côte Ouest Audiovisuel strategy of providing an efficient and secure platform for content streaming services in the entertainment and media sector, and is a critical component in delivering a best-in-class experience over the Internet.
