This document describes the design of a universal component tester to measure the voltage-current (V-I) characteristics of various electronic devices like transistors, diodes, SCRs, TRIACs, etc. using an Arduino microcontroller, voltage and current sensors, and a graphical user interface (GUI). The tester allows easy and affordable testing of multiple components without needing to reconfigure circuits. It samples voltage and current values during testing and uses the Arduino to plot the V-I characteristics on a monitor via the GUI for analysis. The goal is to simplify testing of component specifications through this single, programmable testing platform.
