1. Lighting Plan
Low-key lighting is a style of lighting for a film. It is a necessary element
in creating a chiaroscuro effect. The term "low key" is used in
cinematography to refer to any scene with a high lighting ratio,
especially if there is a predominance of shadowy areas. It tends to
heighten the sense of alienation felt by the viewer, hence is commonly
used in suspense and action genres.
In my film “Shout Out”, I mainly used low key lighting. The reason why I
used it was to achieve that dark and shadowy look to create more
realistic action/suspense and tension look. The news room shot was
taken during day time in natural light to prevent any background noise
in it.
