2. I attracted my audience by my storyline being a little bit
similar to ‘Kidulthood', it appeals to the younger
generation who have probably gone through this
experience in the 21st century so they would relate to
the happenings in our film opening. By slowly letting
the audience take in our film opening, the murder
scene grabs their attention and they then want to see
more as our audience love the tension building plots.
3. We attracted our audience by making sure we stuck to
the conventions our audience would be expecting like
Levi-Strauss’ theory of binary opposites this is hero vs
villain, good vs evil, and in our film opening (Victim vs
Murderer. By watching the murder scene this attracts our
audience because they get excited for the action scenes
that they know will be definitely intense. Our audience
are intelligent and like to be challenged when watching a
film
4. How we also attracted our audience was by
hybridizing the thriller genre and the social realism
genre. This meant that we could appeal to both
audiences. We had attracted the Social realism
audience by our background of the estate and how
certain shots such as the scene when the boy is
running down the stairs this is done by a POV
shot, also the girl/boy relationship relates to our
audience as it is something they have been
through, Knife crime is quite common in our target
audience and because they are aware of it they
would be more interested in our film opening.
5. Our audience could also be friends and family and we
would attract them by informing them that they would be
interested to see the work we have produced. It honestly
depends on the actors & actresses as if they are famous,
people are more likely to go seen them. Also friends and
family have been interested in watching my film opening
because they have watched me work hard and
constantly gain feedback from others who have watched
my film opening and improved it because they as the
audience know what they want from a film opening in the
'Thriller genre’.
6. Our Title 'The Beckoning' refers to death calling the
murdered male character and the character warning the
female character of the circumstances. Our title is
suspicious, distressing and rather makes you feel jumpy.
Our film opening is similar to TV programs that include
social realism such as 'One night' on BBC1 or 'Top boy' on
Channel 4. My film is similar to both these TV series so
our audiences are probably into watching both our shows.
The films this Demographic are probably going to watch
usually have a Protagonist and Antagonist. Which my film
also has.
