Presentation by Andreas Schleicher Tackling the School Absenteeism Crisis 30 ...
Evaluation - Question 4 + 5
1. Question 4 + 5: Who would be the
audience for your media product?
How did you attract/address your
audience?
By Robin Holroyd
2. Who would be the audience for your
media product?
Love crime films like
Sherlock Holmes and
Batman. Or thriller
films like Seven or
Silence of the Lambs.
Loves playing Xbox
games like Grand
Theft Auto or Hitman
because they're
against the law and
violent.
Likes to spend
their time in
groups of people
or watching films.
Aimed at males aged
20-30. This is
because they prefer
these films
stereotypically
Likes British lower
budget films:
Trainspotting or
The Sweeney. As
my film is similar
Likes listening to English
rappers like Plan B: this
is because they rap
about lower class
London where my film is
set.
My target audience’s
hair may have starting
to go grey because
they're getting into the
30’s
I've dressed him up in
converse because this
is a brand that is very
popular with people
in their early 20’s
He is a black stylish
jacket because people
in their early/ late
20’s like to be stylish
and smart.
His jeans show that
he is of the younger
audience because of
the tears or maybe he
cannot afford them as
he is a student.
3. How did you attract/address your
audience? Here what I have done is
straight away include a knife.
This will appeal to the
people that like violent
computer games or love
films full of gore.
I've dressed my killer here in
a much more lower
class, black outfit. This is to
appeal to the audience that
like films with Cockney/
London estates storyline.
I decided to dress my police
interrogator up in smart
modern uniform. This would
address the 20-30 year olds
because this is what they
would most likely own for
when they're going for job
interviews or university
interviews
4. This scene will attract my
audience into watching the
film because the audience that
like gory horror films will enjoy
seeing these type of scenes as
it is what they’ve paid to see.
How did you attract/address your
audience?
My target audience will
recognise this scene because it is
in a lot of crime films like the
Dark Knight. I did this so my
target audience will be able to
relate to my scene. People will
know this type of shot from
Citizen Kane and will be able to
analyse it because of this
blockbuster film.
5. How did you attract/address your
audience?
Once my final film was complete, I had made sure that I had
20 members of my target audience to watch my film. I did this
so that I could get some feedback on my film and then work
on it to make it something that they really would enjoy. When
I showed them the first time they told me that when my killer
was having a flash back to add some intense sound effects to
get their hearts beating faster and to tell them that
‘something sinister is about to happen’. I did this immediately
and then when I showed then again they said that it became a
lot better and ‘fitted the genre better’. 90% of my target
audience said that they would watch my film if it ever went to
cinema because it was exactly what they like. However 10% of
them said they wouldn’t because ‘there wasn’t enough action
in the opening’. From this, I said that I would contemplate this
and they said there would be more of a chance.
6. How did you attract/address your
audience?
They also said that they loved all of the outfits that
they had seen and it was exactly what they thought
would be in a film of this genre. They also said that
when my killer has the flash backs, I should
lengthen the amount of time that they go on for.
This is so they can ‘see what is actually going on and
the expression on their faces’. Finally when I
showed them my film they said that they would've
loved to have heard a scream or some diegetic
sound of the attack to add the suspense and to
make it more violent.
