LABELING
10. Based on the chart above, it can be seen
wealthier and more educated people are more
likely to vote and to hold political positions.
A good illustration of this is the 2004 Presidential
Election in the U.S. The candidates, John Kerry,
and George W. Bush are both Yale University
alumni. John Kerry is a lawyer and George W.
Bush has an MBA from Harvard. Both are white,
worth millions of dollars, and come from families
that have been involved in politics.
11. Income remains one of the main indicators of class, as it
commonly reflects educational attainment as well as occupation
Based on the graph above, it shows the top cabinet
positions and corporate executives who are leaders in
policy-discussion organizations are held by members of
the upper class, good education and high income.
12. Income
In 2012, Obama won 60% of voters with
income under $50,000, and 45% of those with
incomes higher than that. Bush won 41% of
the poorest 20% of voters in 2004, 55% of the
richest twenty percent, and 53% of those in
between.
It can be concluded that low-income voters
tend to vote Republic as they believe that
“they can get ahead with hard work”.
13. Education
Those with graduate education, have become
increasingly Democratic beginning in the
1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, and 2008 elections.
Another survey by UCLA conducted in
2001/02, found 47.6% of scholars identifying
as liberal, 34.3% as moderate, and 18% as
conservative
