Interactive Powerpoint_How to Master effective communication
Portfolio project andrew winters
1. Andrew Winters
• My major is Business Administration
• I am a persistent, ambitious, and assertive young man
with a lot of love and a massive passion to help others
2. My top 3 favorite class assignments were the letter &
video to the next class, the service learning paper and
time log, and the extra credit assignment optimal resume.
The reason the letter and video was so important to me is because it allowed
me to summarize what I’ve got from the class in order to hand on the torch. I
think this assignment followed the deep processing strategies in that I learned
by attempting to teach others the material. It also felt good giving back what
I’ve got from the semester
The reason the service learning paper and time log was so important to me is
because giving is important to me. In this class held myself responsible for
giving back to my community and growing as a person in this way. It is
fulfilling and satisfying to do for those in need and it requires us to grow in
order to do so.
The reason the Optimal resume was so important to me is because I didn’t
have a current resume and I’m actually in the market for a job. It allowed me
to put into perspective my skill sets and experience. It gave me something to
move forward with!
3. My top 3 favorite journals in this class were chapter 3
journal entry 11, chapter 4 journal entry 13, and chapter
5 journal 17.
The reason Journal entry 11 was so important to me is because it got me
thinking about a positive future in which I have what I want. It allowed me to
escape the anxiety and worries of today and transgressions of the past and
get focused on my goals. It also connected synapsis in my brain which I
believe will strengthen my connection to the results I want.
The reason Journal entry 13 was so important to me is because living life by
covey’s quadrants can be one of the most powerful ways to improve and
maintain one’s success, especially your success. I found out I was spending a
lot of time in the wrong quadrants and found out what activities I should
spend more of my time doing. It created a time management platform for
me.
The reason Journal 17 was so important to me is because it put into
perspective what was standing in my way of success and how can I get help.
Often times I don’t even know what’s in my way or what resources are
available to help me. What this journal did was teach me to meditate on
these things in order to reach my goals faster.
4. My favorite module in this class was Module 4. When I started this
class I wasn’t necessarily in bad shape but there was a lot of
changes that needed to be made. This module was about
mastering self management. I ate Raising Canes chicken about 4
days a week and other fast food or restaurants 2 other days of the
week. I had gained 10-15 lbs and wasn’t running like I use to. I
wasn’t happy and I felt my life was declining. I am glad to say that
today, my life is MUCH more managed. I am eating greens and
fruits every single day. I workout nearly 5-6 days a week. I turn in
most of my assignments on time. I am much more social and I am
reaching out to people consistently! Life is good!
5. Three lessons that I will carry with me from this course into my next
semesters are:
1. To spend as much of time as possible in quadrant 1 and 2 activities and
routinely take inventory of my activities and what quadrants they fall
into.
2. Consistently set positive, achievable goals for myself and routinely
envision them having already been achieved and meditate this way
often.
3. Employ deep processing strategies while learning. Remember to grasp
key concepts and broad understanding of material rather than
regurgitate facts, dates, names. Review the learning multiple times to
take advantage of how our memory works. Associate the learning with
other learning to quickly recall it better.
6. My growth in personal responsibility has
changed in many ways since the beginning
of this semester. Some of these ways are:
1. I have taken personal responsibility for
my physical health. When I began the
semester I ate out 6 nights a week and
didn’t workout much. Now I workout 5
days a week and eat extremely healthy!
2. I have grown in holding myself more
responsible for being a generous giver. I
recalled that I am most happy when I give
my time and resources to those in need. I
have continued this trend and it’s been
very fulfilling!
3. I have became more responsible
reaching out to people and being social. I
say yes to invitations more, attend more
functions, and call/text people to say
hello!

whole and fulfilled. I have given my best to my wife, my children, my family, my
friends, and my community. I’ve traveled the world with my baby and gave my
kids an extraordinary upbringing. I have been a generous giver for many decades
and even started my own extremely successful non profit charity. I own a vast
real estate empire and my sons help me run it. I enjoy traveling to other
countries and exploring with my love. I enjoy impacting the world through
generously giving my time and money to causes that aim to improve it. I’ve got
to watch my kids grow up solidly and see the effects of being an amazing dad. I
get to hear my wife tell me, “I’ve had the most amazing life with you” and see
tears in her eyes as she says it. I feel warm in my chest and buzzing in my cheeks
as I smile. We will leave our kids a massive fortune and leave the world with a
warm loving family lineage.
