Short Term Courses
This Mandarin course helps learners just beginning to learn
Mandarin language. Taking into consideration of learners’ work,
life and hobbies, the lessons are designed and tailor made to make
sure their learning experience is more relevant and effective. The
course focuses on developing learners’ practical skills in conversing
and communicating in Mandarin. At the end of each semester,
learners will be able to communicate well in different social and
work scenarios while developing their reading and writing skills in
a natural way. Meanwhile, learners will be provided opportunities
to experience Mandarin language and its culture, and thus develop
intercultural awareness. Instructions on explicit knowledge of
Chinese language is of vital importance for learners to achieve
accuracy and overall communicative competency. Therefore, the
course also covers knowledge of Pinyin, Chinese characters,
grammar and structure, but they are designed for and placed in
communicative contexts. Learners will be provided with all course
materials, and a certificate of completion will be issued at the end
of each course.
