Existing Product #1
This magazine has been shot in a full angle shot and
looks like a natural chilled out photograph, with the
purpose showing that there hard acts, when just looking
at there posture and that one of them isn’t even looking
at the camera. Conveying a straight on angle looking
directly at the person reading the magazine. This
making the audience want to buy the magazine through
excitement that it might be a band they could relate to.
The orange color on the headline where on the “the” is
the same color as the “forever”. They have also done
the same with some word on the menu strip and the
kicker, and its cover line. They did this to give of the fact
that the band resembles fires with its red and orange
colors Even though this magazine is aiming for mostly
dark colors it main one is red being used on the
masthead and headline standing out the most as they
are the largest. This good for the reader as it’s a range
of the colors for the reader to focus on as oppose to just
focusing on one.
Also looking at the date and the price with them both
being in different color. Plus the outline of the of the
headline really makes it stand out with it being a lot
more larger than the rest.
Existing Product #2
On this double page spread it similar to the front cover of the other magazine, again with a
lot of darker colors being used like the black and the grey. As well as the chilled out posture
the man is giving off and casual look to relate the audience. Also the border going around
the double page are spotlights represent the fame of being someone famous. The headline
also looks like it has been cut out of a magazine and placed on, adding more realism to the
background and making it more scruffy which is often trendy, especially on the music side.
The word “absolutely” has been enlarged and been in a larger font to make it stand out. This
effects the reader, with them being curious as to why this word could have such a effect.
Also to help the readers the background font of the questions have been highlighted which
to make it so that the questions look
more noticeable.
Along with the slight glint shine on the
Corners of these boarders showing
That’s its about fame and popularity.
Existing Product #3
This Q magazine is noticeable on colors the
same way NME are, with there uses of red,
black and white. It’s main key color of font is
black but important words on the cover line are
highlighted in red and have been enlarged so
there more noticeable.
This image of this man he is giving off a
professional casual look with him not looking
directly at the camera. His dress sense is also
important as well not wearing anything to
colorful for a magazine that is also not too
colorful.
These uses of font are connected to the words
that have been displayed on the front of the
magazine as the font for the words the killers
have been shown is a rocky slasher type,
connecting to the word.
Research Analysis
• What common features do the researched products have?
• The most common feature that all the product have that I have researched
is mainly the colours and fonts. With music magazines usually having the
colours red, black and white. They are all also covered with cover lines to
show what else is in the magazine. Each magazine specially the first is
giving a casual look where it looks professional but with what there
wearing its very cause and untidy, in a way most rock singers dressers.
• What aspects of the research will you include within your on work?
• The aspects I will include from my research will be it’s uses of the colours
red, white and black. Also I will include black and white photography for
the images I’m going to have and will be giving off a more casual look
shown in a similar way the previous magazines have.

40-70 • 40-70’s because this was the age range that
grew up with David Bowie with him being
less popular to the modern day culture.

being a iconic role model to that age and
even though a lot of women did like him,
this was underweighted by the men, as the
there were other role models women look
upon back then.
Psychographic
Type A • The way bowie stood out as a bohemian
was something a lot of people of looked up
to and took example of things like recycling
not being a major thing back then and he
tried to issue to people that it was.
