3. INTRODUCTION
The day by day progress of automobile industry has
led to an exponential increase in the fuel consumption.
Hence, the need of our is most efficient use of available
limited fuel supplies.
The thermal efficiency of a four stroke internal
combustion engine is found to be approximately equal to
33%, thereby pointing out the fact that almost 67% heat
of fuel goes waste through exhaust gases and cooling
4. INTRODUCTION
What is six stroke engine:
The SIX-STROKE engine is a type of an
internal combustion engine based on four
stroke engine, but with additional features
intended to make it more efficient by reducing
emissions
There are two power strokes ,one with fuel and
the other with steam or air
5. The Different approaches used in
SIX-STROKE engines
First approach
the engine captures waste heat from the four stroke
engine to produce an additional power strokes using the
same main piston
Second approach
It uses a second opposed piston which moves at half
the cyclical rate of the main piston
6. Types of six stoke engine
According to first approach
Crower six stoke engine
Bajulaj six stoke engine
Valoezeta six stroke engine
According to second approach
Beare head six stroke engine

Working principle according to 1st approach
11. 1st - Stroke, Suction Stroke
The intake valve is open.
Intake of pure air in the
cylinder.
12. The heating chamber
valve is open.
Compression of pure
air in the heating
chamber.
2nd –Stroke, Compression Stroke
13. The Combustion
chamber valve is open.
Release of
combustion gases in
the cylinder.
3rd - Stroke, power(work) Stroke
14. • The exhaust valve
is open.
• Exhaust of the
combustion gases.
4th – Stroke, Exhaust Stroke
15. 5th - Stroke, power(work) Stroke
The heating chamber
valve is open.
Release of hot pure
air into the cylinder.
16. 6th – Stroke, Recompression Stroke
The Combustion
chamber valve is open.
Recompression of the
pure air in the
combustion chamber
17. Advantages
Increased power and torque output.
The cooling system is eliminated
Better fuel economy.
Higher compression ratio.
Thermal efficiency reaching 50%
Clear burning and reduced emission
18. Disadvantages
Complex in head design.
Complex in cam design due two power strokes.
Thermodynamically engine is stable, yet design
of parts becomes more complex due to increase
in torque.
19. conclusion
More workdone for same fuel supply, high
volumetric efficiency, reduce the emissions so
that we have a bright future in six stoke engine
