3. What is six stroke engine:-
An engine in which piston reciprocates 6 times
in one cycle giving two power strokes with same
fuel supply.
It works based on four stroke engine.
4. Introduction
Malcolm beare built an innovative hybrid design of the I.C
engine , by combining a two stroke with a four stroke
engine.
The Beare Head uses a piston and ports very much like a
two stroke engine to replace the over head valve system
that is found in four stroke engines today. The four stroke
block, pistons and crankshaft remain unaltered. This
combination of two stroke and four stroke technology has
given the engine its name the “six stroke engine” (2 + 4 =
6)
5. Key attributes of the Beare Head are:
Increased power,
Increased torque,
Fewer, lighter reciprocating parts,
Simpler manufacture.
6. Working principal of Six stroke Engine:-
1st - Stroke, Suction Stroke
The intake valve is open.
Intake of pure air in the cylinder.
7. 2nd –Stroke, Compression Stroke
The heating chamber valve
is open.
Compression of pure air in the
heating chamber.
Combustion chamber completely
sealed and ready for the combustion.
8. 3rd - Stroke, power(work) Stroke
The Combustion chamber
valve is open.
Release of combustion gases
in the cylinder.
9. 4th – Stroke, Exhaust Stroke
The exhaust valve is
open.
Exhaust of the combustion
gases.
10. 5th - Stroke, power(work) Stroke
The heating chamber valve
is open.
Release of hot pure air into
the cylinder.
11. 6th – Stroke, Recompression Stroke
The Combustion chamber
valve is open.
Recompression of the pure
air in the combustion
chamber
22. In a six stroke engine the energy absorption is less because of slower
acceleration of reciprocating parts.
It reduces the weight and complexity of the engines head by as much
as 50%. Instead of using energy to drive the head.
Torque is increased by 35% and efficiency increased by the same.
Reduction in Fuel at least 40%.
23. Reduction in pollution up to 65%.
Higher overall efficiency.
Lower Engine Temperature.
