Brief: To create a music video which contains the typical conventions of a music video.
Aim:
To create a visual and narrative music video to the song ‘Crying For No Reason’ by Katy B.
Description of your intentions:
The song it 3:43 minutes long therefore will feature a wide of shots of narrative and
performance base as well as cuts. I have decided to make use of equipment in order to
achieve my performance footage. There are locations such as a studio for the ballet
routine to be shot in with spotlights.
I also intend to feature a narrative in the music video which will require me to travel to a
destination such as a forest or a park. I will be using footage of travelling in the car to give
a POV perspective.
Target Audience:
The target audience for this music video will be lovers on R&B music as well as Dance. Fan
base of this artist will also be the target audience. The song is a very upbeat ballad with
noticeable beats of electro pop and dance.
The song has featured in the charts and is noticeable by the audience. The social class of
the audience fit into C2, D and E.
Similar Products:
There are few music videos which have inspired me to get to the final of this idea. Each
music video that are similar have some sort of performance or narrative element into it.
