2. USP
• Our unique selling point is that our protagonists are all female. We thought
this was very postmodern so it is new and different to the crime film
industry. We felt like this was similar to Charlie’s Angels by Joseph McGinty
Nichol AKA McG but a updated version fitting to the time. Females are
usually portrayed as the weak individuals saved somehow by the males
however it’s the females in our film who do the evil.
3. SYNOPSIS
• Empire & Prince Albert, the top mobster gangs, have been drug
dealing for years, running the streets of Brighton and providing them
with some of the finest cocaine. However, nothing lasts forever and in
recent years they’ve had to take a hell of a lot more care dodging the
law. It’s become so difficult they’ve had no other option than to
produce their own cocaine, Synthacaine. Empire, being an all-female
gang has the edge over Prince Albert as they use their feline charm to
their advantage. They’re sneaky, snaky & sultry; they pretend to just
be clueless beautiful girls working for Prince Albert. Yet there’s more
to them than looks, they have cunning minds which work together to
destroy the boys. The jokes on them…

Leader of Empire. Use to be apart of an exclusive
underworld art dealing business. In the past has
worked with the likes of Francesco Di Carlo, the Kray
twins and The Richardson Gang.
High profile cocaine smuggler through the Mexican
border however always hired professionals as she
never wanted to get her hands dirty. That is why Pinky
is classed as an elusive dealer who everyone wants to
work with.
Rudy is a new upcoming dealer. She may be young but
has inherited the tricks of the trade from her father,
Frankie Fraser AKA mad frank. Anyone in the business
knows he is one not to be tampered with, especially his
precious only daughter.
6. MALE MOBSTER GANG
• SKINNER
• MIKEY
• Lil CEASER
•
Skinner, he is a hard wired killer. He has escaped the law
due to his family seedy connections within the law. They
have even worked with him on one occasion involving two
murders and a jewellery heist involving hostages.
Mikey is a underworld human trafficker dealing with
young girls to and from well known millionaire business
men. He has close bonds in the high class society which
comes in handy when performing his work.
Lil Ceaser and Skinner are brothers and have grown up
together and closely worked with their uncle Big Ceaser. At
the age of 10 they were running meth. By 15 they were
cooking and distributing the meth. Their uncles meth lab
and dealership is the biggest plantation in Europe and
America.
7. 3 ACT TREATMENT
• BEGINNING: The undercover mobster all-girl gang Empire, are working for
the well-known mobster all-boy gang Prince Albert. The boys are in the
shadows completely about their employees cunning minds and to the fact
they’re gathering inside information at every poker night. As the girls
deliver drinks and smile in the members of Prince Albert’s faces they’re
carefully listening to every word said.
• DISRUPTION: After working for the boys for a good few years, Empire have
got all the information they need and they finally act on their plans. They
rob the boys’ large supply of synthacaine which they developed in a lab as a
new strain of cocaine and run.
• RESOLUTION: The girls are laughing now, they’ve made loads of money and
lost out on nothing. The boys don’t even realise anything is missing until
the very end when they open one of the brief cases to find no synthacaine
just a load of lipsticks. It’s obvious to them whose hands their synthacaine
10. LOCATION IDEAS
• We want to use a poker table in our trailer as we think it is an iconic prop in a crime
film, setting the scene. On the poker table we will be able to have other mise-en-
scene such as poker chips, alcohol, ash trays etc. These all fit the basic conventions
of a genre film.
• We like the idea of having a lift and a car park, as it gives the atmosphere of
emptiness for the car park, and fits the idea of someone on the run. But the lift
builds tension as it’s a small enclosed area that we will be able to film close ups in
to show character emotions.
• We will be filming this in a flat in Brighton, and therefore think that a panning shot
over looking Brighton will set the location and show the area that the rival gangs
are fighting for.
• There are chase scenes through Brighton laines. This will build tension and keep the
fast pace momentum going which is constant throughout the most part of our film.
• We are also going to have minor shots around Brighton in different locations,
mainly desolated to set the scene and mood of our film. This is will give our film a
strong Brighton essence which is crucial to our film.
11. SYNTHACAINE- 3 ACT TRAILER
TREATMENT
• BEGINNING: Begins with the boys walking along to the ‘meeting point’.
They’re playing poker with the undercover all-female-gang delivering
drinks to the table and being very attentive to them. Secretly they’re
listening to every word said; learning how to continue making this new
strand of cocaine and plotting their robbery of the boys supply too.
• DISRUPTION: Empire (the all-girl-gang) actually switch the brief cases full of
the newly invented (by Prince Albert) Synthacaine for a brief case filled with
lipstick. They make a quick exit from the ‘meeting point’. The boys realise
two days later when they go to sample their supply, they all quickly work
out who did it. They run out the house to go chase the girls.
• RESOLUTION: The boys cannot catch the girls, meaning the girls have
successfully f***ed over the boys and are rich in a brand new strain of
cocaine, synthacaine. The trailer finishes with all the girls in masks & boiler
suits in a lift with the doors closing, signifying how they’ve completed their
12. SHOT TYPES AND EDITING
TECHNIQUES• Freeze frame – during the chase scenes to break up the past pace action so
audience can take all of the action and information in. Also postmodern.
• Pull focus – when male gang realised they’ve be stitched up. Builds drama and focus
on facial expressions.
• Guy Riche freeze frame – When introducing characters in animated style.
Postmodern.
• Tracking shots of chase scene – smooth and more advanced than others. Makes
scene look slick and polished.
• Amateur camera phone video – Of filming and scenes in public. Breaks up standard
recording and makes the scene more exciting. Post modern.
• Wide angle location shot – shot of a stereotypical location in Brighton.
• Close up shots – of characters and facial expressions. More dramatic and pulls
focus to mood of scene.
