Poster and mag shoot
1. POSTER AND MAGAZINE
PHOTO SHOOT.
For our poster and magazine
we knew that we wanted them
both to be character based,
with a simple statement
background. With our females
being the main selling point
of the film we wanted to
highlight that. Ella was the
photographer.
2. Our first selection of photos we
took were against a yellow brick
wall. With the main protagonist in
dark clothing this really highlighted
the character because of the strong
colour contrast. We liked the yellow
as it complimented out post
modern element to our film, we
matched this with a blue gun. We
used a canon EOS5600D and to
create clear shadows on the wall
we used a small battery powered
light. We wanted the costume to
compliment our characters
personality. Using the iconic fur
coat and red lipstick that appears
throughout the film trailer and the
ancillary products. This gives it a
sense of continuity and shows clear
symbols so people will be able to
identify our film.
3. For the second half we went into the toilets
to use the mirror as a prop and to write on
the mirror. We loved the shoot of writing
out tag line #thejokesonyou on the mirror
as it add the hashtag onto the poster or
magazine instantly. We used the light again
to shadow up onto my face.
Ella successfully took pictures that focused on the
writing and had me in the background however we
couldn’t use these shots just because of the toilet
background in the back just didn’t look right, and we
didn’t have the time to edit it out on photoshop.
4. These were our favourite images from the shoot we did. We felt
That these portrayed the atmosphere that we wanted. In relation
to marketing our film, we are keen to have our USP of the female
protagonists in a British crime film the main focus. We feel this
will draw In a range of audiences as we tried to portray a powerful
female character that women would like to see. But also by using
her costume to fit the stereotypical sexualised girl character in
traditional crime films hoping this will draw in males too.
