Lead and managed project scope, design, cost, schedule and performance of the Controls and Electrical portion of the
capital projects. Responsibilities included overall project management, construction management and start-up.
Three SIL2 level SIS systems with independent instrumentation for organic chemicals reactors of 1000 to 2000-gallon
capacity. Safety improvements met “Zero Injuries” due to equipment malfunction or human error.
Specification, design and installation of a 2000-loop ABB DCI System Six DCS as part of a $ 25 million project.
Savings over $250K from instrumentation and electrical implementation. Responsible for full functionality and integrity
of all process and interlocks control systems.
Technical support in Spanish to US Corporate Marketing for key chemical products resulted in doubled the annual
sales to over 500K by contacting and visiting customers in Mexico and Puerto Rico.

Instrumentation and Control Engineer
Provided design, configuration and installation of DCS systems and specific configuration of an advanced Gensym G2
expert system based on a network of three VAX-stations that complemented process control system.
A $ 4.6 million automation project was implemented 15% under budget, within timetable and without production
interruption. Project included a new Honeywell TDC3000 DCS system for the production of special Kevlar polymer
fibers included more than 3000 analog and discrete loops.
