Budget: 1 Crore
Detail: Foundation, Beam, Column,
Slab
Consist: Classroom, Library, Lab.

Material
i. Cement: 53 grades (JAGDAMBA CEMENT) was
used. The initial setting time= 30 min and the final
setting time = 10 hrs.
ii. Fine Aggregate: River bank sand.
iii. Coarse aggregate: coarse aggregate of 20mm size.
iv. Steel: Depend on the member.

10. 4. Major Steps Involved in
Construction
a. Excavation of soil for footing
i. Centerline Drawing: Represent the grids marked.
ii. Excavation Drawing :Represents the length, width
and depth of the excavation.

11. b. FOUNDATION
i. Isolated Footing: Used to support the light load on a
single column.12 mm Steel
ii. Mat Footing :Used when very heavy loads of
building are to be transmitted.(Toilet Tank).

12. c. Wall Construction
Brick walls are constructed for partition purpose.
[Note: At site 1st class brick work is used and the ratio
of mortar for brickwork is 1:6 ]

13. Working dimension is the size to which
manufacturers will try to make the bricks.
Coordinating dimension is a measure of the physical
space taken up by a brick together with the mortar
required on one bed.
The difference between the working and coordinating
dimensions of a brick is 10mm .

Slabs are the flooring systems of structures . The main
functions of slabs are generally to carry gravity forces,
such as loads from human weight, goods and furniture.

18. 5. Quality Control
Quality control is the part of quality management
that ensures products and service with
requirements.
It is a work method that facilitates the measurement
of the quality characteristics of a unit, compares
them with the established standards, and analyses
the differences between the results obtained and the
desired results in order to make decisions which
will correct any differences.

19. 6. Conclusion
I have got opportunity to understand the technical and
managerial aspect of Educational building project. The
main aim of studies within this project was to
investigate how a structure is constructed within its
desired properties. We got to know about the basic &
advanced techniques of building construction as well as
saw the challenges which a civil engineer have to face
during construction i.e. Labor, Environment, weather
etc.
