- Students are forced to join
- Can't freely choose the CCA students want

Time should be reduced- other commitments

“Personally I think CCA is important because it gives the student an all rounded
form of education but I think to me as a teacher now, I feel that sometimes
the CCA may take up too much of curriculum time and it might affect the
students emphasis on studies in terms of like the time spent even take
into their rest time and personal time. So actually when competition draws
near, so to me its important in terms of the education in Singapore. It gives
them advantage over the peers who don’t have any cca when it comes to
the subtraction of aggregate score when comes to ‘O’ level so maybe help
them to get into JCs they want to. So CCA is necessary to a certain
extent if it can enable the student to get what they want to but at
the same time not eat into hours that are not really meant for
CCAs.”
