This document provides details of a lesson plan for a class on the five senses. The lesson will take place at Escuela Nro. 81 for 18 students in Sala de 5, and focuses on the sense of hearing. The goals are to review vocabulary from previous senses lessons, identify animals by their sounds, and learn about hearing and the ears. The teacher will use a book about the five senses, an online song, and miming to check comprehension. Students will practice listening and speaking skills through an interactive warm-up and identifying animal sounds.

identify
what
the
sense
of
hearing
is

Comment [3]: You
may
enter
the
classroom
wearing
some
headphones,
as
if
you
were
listening
to
music.
They
will
find
it
funny,
and

5. Transition:
I
tell
my
students:
“With
my
ears
I
can
hear
different
sounds.
Animals,
for
example!
let’s
train
our
ears
with
a
game.
➢ Presentation:
5
minutes
Purpose:
To
further
expose
learners
to
the
target
language,
foster
comprehension.
Introduce
new
words
(animals)
Materials:
Mp3
files
containing
two
different
songs
with
sounds
of
animals
(bird,
cat,
dog,
bee,
bear
and
cow),
The
Five
Senses’
Book
and
black
pencils.
I
tell
the
students:
“In
my
songs
there
are
animals.
Oh
No!
Do
you
know
what
animals
are
these???
What
animals
are
these??
Pay
attention!!!
Mark
the

I
play
each

and
when
we
check
for
comprehension,
I
introduce
the
words
for
each
animal

in
the
songs.
I
encourage
students
to
repeat
the
names
and
practice
correct
pronunciation
of
words
like
“dog”,
“cat”,
“bird”,
etc.

Comment [4]: You
should
have
included
in
the
lesson
plan.
Aurelia 5/3/17 10:28 PM
Comment [5]: You
should
demonstrate
the
activity.
6.
Transition:
I
say
to
the
children:
“You
are
very
good
with
animal
sounds,
so
now
we
are
going
to
play
with
them”.
➢ Development:
10
minutes
Purpose:
Foster
contextualized
practice
of
the
teaching
points.
Focus
on
specific
vocabulary
related
directly
to
the
class
topic
(listening
comprehension
and
accuracy
of
pronunciation).
I
ask
the
students
to
stand
up
in
the
middle
of
the
classroom.
We
are
going
to
play
with
animal
sounds.
I
say
“My
ears
can
hear
a….bird!”.
Students
have
to
respond
by
making
the
sound
that
corresponds
to
that
animal.
After
a
few
tries,
we
try
the
opposite.
I
make
an
animal
sound
and
students
name
it
(“I
hear
a…”).
Students
can
form
small
groups
and
play
the
game
without
teacher
intervention.
Transition:
After
doing
this
activity,
I
tell
them:
“Excellent
job!
You
know
all
about
the
animals’
sounds!!
Closure:
5
minutes
Purpose:
Review
the
vocabulary,
the
part
of
the
body
and
end
this
lesson.
7. Materials:
color
pencils,
the
blackboard
and
chalks.
At
this
stage
I
ask
students
to
sit
around
me
and
we
talk
about
animals
we
like:
“My
favorite
animal
is
the
dog.
What
is
your
favorite
animal?”
I
draw
a
dog
on
the
blackboard
next
to
a
smiling
face
and
encourage
a
few
students
to
name
their
favorite
animal
and
draw
it
on
their
notebooks
or
on
the
board.
Once
they
are
finished,
I
say:
“Oh!
No!
Look
at
the
time!!!
(pointing
out
the
clock.)
It’s
time
to
say
goodbye!
Let’s
sing
the
good-‐bye
song”
“This
is
the
way
we
say
goodbye,
say
goodbye,
say
goodbye
this
is
the
way
we
say
goodbye,
to
you,
and
you
and
you”
IMPORTANT!
The
format
in
which
the
stages
are
presented
will
vary
according
to

Comment [6]: Will
this
depend
on
timing?
If
time
is
available,
you
may
create
a
poster
of
your
favourite
animals,
having
each
child
draw
their
favourite
one
(you
may
label
their
pictures).
8. Observations
Nice
Euge!!
They
will
enjoy
working
with
animal
sounds.
It`s
a
nice
topic.
You
may
even
teach
them
a
song.
For
instance,
I
found
this
online:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhW1-‐YW73Dk
I
think
that,
if
you
have
enough
time,
creating
a
poster
would
be
a
suitable
idea.
You
can
recycle
My
eyes
can
see
a
(horse),
as
you
mention
the
different
animals,
or
you
can
say
My
ear
can
hear
…
and
they
have
to
point
at
the
animal
that
makes
that
sound
from
the
poster.
Just
some
ideas.
It
doesn´t
mean
you
have
to
do
them!
Have
a
lovely
lesson!!

ps:
Remember
that
you
must
always

add
the

to
the
lesson
plan.
Take
it

for
further
occasions.
