  • 3. ✓ Teaching  approach  or  combination  of  methods  /  approaches:  The  lesson  is  based   on  Communicative  Approach  and  organized  through  the  PPP  method.   ✓ Integration  of  skills:  The  skills  the  students  develop  are  listening  and  speaking   skills,  through  the  listening  of  pronunciation  of  the  objects  they  can  see  and   producing  their  own  chunks  of  vocabulary  for  their  own.  Also  the  students   develop  reading  and  writing  skills  throughout  the  problems  they  should  face.   ✓ Materials  and  resources:  For  this  lesson  we  need,  glue,  a  whiteboard  and   markers,  pictures  of  Superheroes  and  Villains,  the  Batman  Symbol,  and  copies  of   the  Comic.   ✓ Pedagogical  use  of  ICT  in  class  or  at  home:  audiovisual  material  will  be  used  to   support  the  exposure  of  the  students  to  the  teaching  point.   ✓ Seating  arrangement:  The  students  will  be  on  their  own  tables,  and  later   arranged  in  groups.  Assessment:  I’ll  check  the  students’  comprehension  by   making  gestures  and  miming.  Also  I’ll  check  if  they  understand  and  identify   names  of  the  objects  they  see  and  identify  what  the  activities  will  be  about.  I’ll   encourage  them  to  produce  chunks  of  language  during  the  speaking  stage.       ➢ Routine:  5  minutes   Purpose:  Start  the  lesson;  get  students  into  the  mood  for  work.   I’ll  walk  into  the  classroom  and  greet  students:  “Hello!  How  are  you?”  EA:  Hello!       Transition:  I’ll  tell  the  students  if  they  remember  Juan’s  birthday  party  and  ask  about   what  birthday  elements  they  remember.     ➢ Warm  up:  5  minutes   Purpose:  Introduce  the  topic  and  the  teaching  points.   I  say  to  the  students:  “Ok…  Some  popular  themes  in  birthdays  are  heroes  or  cartoon   characters.  Who  is  he?  (And  I  show  a  batman  symbol)”  EA:  Batman!!  I  ask  for  more   superheroes  they  know  in  TV  or  magazines.             Aurelia 6/6/17 8:09 AM Comment [1]: You  may  use  some  cards  to   prompt  their  answers.   Aurelia 6/6/17 8:09 AM Deleted: do

Transition:  I  tell  my  students:  “OK!  We  are  talking  about  them!!!”       ➢ Presentation:  5  minutes   Purpose:  To  further  expose  learners  to  the  target  language,  foster  comprehension.   Materials:  Whiteboard  and  markers,  a  picture  of  a  child.     I   tell   the   students:   “Juan’s   birthday   has   a   Batman   theme”.   (I   write   on   the   board   the   name  next  to  the  picture  of  Juan).  Then  I  ask  to  one  of  the  students:  “What  color  is  it?”.   EA:  Black!  Excellent!  I  ask  some  other  students  if  they  know  other  superheroes  and  their   distinctive  colors.  As  they  answer,  I  will  write  on  the  board  their  names  and  colors.     Transition:  I  say  to  the  children:  “Excellent  work  with  colors!”   ➢ Development:     Activity  1:  20  minutes   Purpose:  Foster  contextualized  practice  of  the  teaching  points.  Focus  on  specific   vocabulary  related  directly  to  the  class  topic.   I  ask  the  students  to  sit  down  and  open  their  notebooks.  I  show  them  some  pictures  of  5   famous  superheroes  and  villains  and  they  have  to  color  them.  They  can  use  the  colors   they  want  it,  it  is  not  necessary  they  know  the  character  well.  I  tell  them:  “Do  you  know   him/her?  Who  is  he/she?  EA:  “She/He  is…..”.     I  check  if  they  understand  what  the  activity  is  about  and  monitor  the  activity.     I  will  give  them  one  picture  to  each  one  and  at  the  end  of  the  activity  they  have  to  write   down  the  colors  they  used  for  coloring.   Once  they’ve  finished,  we  check  it  with  the  whole  class  writing  the  colors  and  the   numbers  on  the  board.           Batman  is  ……………….and  ……………….   Aurelia 6/6/17 8:11 AM Comment [2]: Then  pay  attention  to  the   sentences  they  complete.   Aurelia 6/6/17 8:10 AM Deleted: well   Aurelia 6/6/17 8:18 AM Comment [3]: Only  one  picture?  Or  a   worksheet  for  each?   Aurelia 6/6/17 8:18 AM Comment [4]: Which?

  • 7.   Activity  2:  10  minutes   Purpose:  review  the  vocabulary  and  to  further  expose  to  the  new  vocabulary.   Materials:  a  copy  of  a  comic  for  each  student.     I  tell  the  students:  “Do  you  like  comics?  We  are  going  to  read  aloud  the  story  about   these  two  characters!  And  complete  the  chart!  EA:  Yes!!!       Complete the Chart: Characters How old is....? Favourite color     Transition:  I  say  to  my  students:  “Great!!!  Now,  you  can  create  your  own  comic!!!     Activity  3:  25  minutes   Purpose:  Work  collaboratively  and  review  the  vocabulary.  Further  expose  the  learners   to  the  new  lexical  items.     Materials:  color  pencils  and  black  pencil.     I’ll  ask  the  students  to  sit  down  in  groups  of  four  students.  The  task  is  to  create  their   own  comic.  At  this  stage,  students  are  allowed  to  choose  their  own  Superheroe  or   invent  a  new  one.  I  will    write  on  the  board  a  guide  for  doing  the  task.     Aurelia 6/6/17 8:12 AM Comment [5]: What`s  the  dog`s  favourite   colour?
