The Importance Of Error Analysis And Failure Mode Effects...
Introduction
In every work environment, there are various continuous quality initiatives in place to improve organization's product or service quality. For
instance, in the United States, many patients have been losing lives due to serious and avoidable medical errors or safety events (Muething et al.,
2012). For this reason, it is crucial to understand how these avertable medical errors or safety events can be prevented or eliminated. There are
factors involved in the process of analyzing particular errors in an organization. This paper focuses on two processes of error analysis (Root Cause
Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA)) to address unnecessary medical errors (Serious Safety Events (SSE)). SSE in a healthcare

These encounters make it cumbersome to classify alleviate primary causes of harm. Therefore, it affects the ability of the society to identify and prove
the efficacy of patient safety risk management solutions that decrease medical errors and preventable serious safety events.
Measures push for improvement, inform patients and effect payment. Both public and private payers apply measures to make a decision on the health
providers they should contract and to enhance improvements in healthcare. Hence, describing, categorizing and emphasizing on harm prevention is
critical for any practical risk management program.
To prevent or eliminate numerous deaths related medical errors. American Society for Healthcare Risk Management has come up with Getting to Zero.
Getting to Zero is a Serious Safety Events initiative, which emphasizes on event investigation stages. The core part of the investigation process is to
establish harm–score. This always prompts an organizational response and risk management. Therefore, without proper and accurate harm–score
examination, the chances for applying operational response may be wanting.
American Society for Healthcare Risk Management developed Harm Classification Tool to help risk managers and health care leaders to group an
event when deviation happens. Additionally, the tool aids them to ascertain what actions are suitable for a particular event. The tool supports the

The Mode Of A Teacher
This assignment fully put me in the mode of a teacher as I completed the following data maintenance procedures: Performing a pre and post test to
measure students knowledge on the content and skills that I was teaching with this unit. This unit was taught to a class of kindergardners,so I made
sure not to overstimulate the students and guide them through information that I am teaching them. Through this unit, I planned on have students to
become knowledgeable about the four major parts of a flower, a plant's needs, the steps of how to plant a seed, and to make predictions about plants
growing under conditions without water, sunlight, soil, or seeds. During this unit, I engaged my students in many kinesthetic, auditory, and visual
learning styles to meet the students' needs. The following strategies and activities are just a few of the many that was implemented during this lesson:
trace worksheet, sequencing, copying, modelling, guided inquiry, direct lesson, guided and independent practice, HOT questions, and much more. All
students showed a jump in their grades over 20% or more. All students scored 70% or more. Out of 15 students, only two scored below 80, with a
score of 70%. Based on these results, I feel that the instructional procedures that were employed for this lesson truly helped in the mastery of the
content presented in this lesson for majority of the class. Students reflect a positive reaction to the instructional procedures that were used and to the

Modes Of Relief
4.3.4 The Relief Provided under the Act
The next aspect of the Act that needs to be analysed is the relief it seeks to provide to the victim. A broad overview of the scheme of the Act suggests
three things: first, it is not punitive in nature. The various modes of relief provided for under it are aimed, principally, at protecting the victim from any
further abuse and compensating her for the abuse already suffered, and additionally, at restoring stability and harmony in the family unit. Thus, all the
provisions have been structured so as to give effect to this dual purpose. Second, the Act is not exhaustive and is only complementary in nature, i.e. it
supplements the existing legislations and the relief provided under it is only in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Modes Of Being
Often when I sleep, I neither feel myself (my senses), nor have I dreams. But, when I wake up, my intellect instantly apprehends different things. I feel
things, I see things, I taste things, I smell things, and I hear things. Thus, it is true, the first thing grasped by the intellect is being. As, Avicenna said:
"that which the intellect first conceives as, in a way, the most evident, and to which it reduces all its concepts, is being"1. Then, if all beings from the
smallest particle to God himself, is being, or if being is universal, how do I differentiate the diversity of all that I perceive each time when I awake? St.
Thomas said there two ways being is expressed, or two ways to of adding to being. But why do we add to being as if ... Show more content on

The term used positively is a thing. The essence make a thing what it is, different from all other thing. Therefore a thing expresses the essence of a
being whereas the being express the existence of a thing or the ' to be'. The second term used while considering every being is itself is One. One is
negative, because when being is considered per se, it cannot be divide, in other words is One. Thus, the term One is used the express the
undividedness of a being. Then again, as I mentioned above, the general modes can be considered in two ways. The second mode necessitate to
follow every being in relation to others. This first way is the distinction between a being to another being. The distinction between one being to
another being is called another. For example: ' Mum my job is finish now, can you give me another one. The term another make a distinction to one
thing to another. The second way is the correspondence of one being to another being. This is possible only as St. Thomas explained: "if something
which is such that it agrees with every being. Such a being is the soul, which, as is said in The Soul, in some way is all things"3. The soul on the other
hand has the knowing and the appetitive powers. As Aristotle said ' good is what men desires' it follows that Good expresses the correspondence of
being through the appetitive power. And Truth is the

Relationship Between Femail Juniors Involved in Sports and...
Statement of Tasks: The plan is to obtain data of female juniors involved in sports and the relevance to their grade point averages. The data will be
collected through a survey. The survey will be distributed to fifty female juniors that attend Taft High School. The survey will ask the student to state
the curriculum such as IB or other (Regular/Honors). Students will also have to state their grade point averages. The researcher has to assure that
each student is either involved or has recently been involved in a sport. A statistical analysis will be applied to the data in order to uncover any
relevance of the data. The analysis will require a chi–squared (x2) test.

In order to find the median for IB and Others GPA, I must put the GPAs in numerical order. Since both totals are even numerals, I have to take the
mean of the two middle numbers of the set of GPA. IB median: 4.3+4.5= 8.8 8.8/2= 4.4
Others median: 3.0+ 3.1=6.1 6.1/2 = 3.05
There several modes within each data set. I simply look for repeating digits. Since there is a handful, I will only choose of the many modes to be the
main mode for the sets.
IB mode: 4.7 and 4.3
Others mode: 3.0

Patriarchal Relations Between The Patriarchy And The Mode...
Patriarchal structures that have played a profound role in shaping the economy throughout history remain systemic to the organisation of today's
economic capitalism. Maria Mies' work, Patriarchy and Accumulation on a World Scale, looks at the role of the patriarchy in maintaining social
relations of production that is conducive to capitalistic ideals. This notion remains relevant and potent in today's society. Remnants of patriarchal
relations fundamentally enable the extent of class, exploitation, agency and power that drives this capitalist economy. While man–woman relations are
conducive the process of capital accumulation, they are not mutually indispensible. That is, there is no infinite or explicit relationship between
labour–wage gender inequality under capitalism. However, it is the inability to disaffirm the prevalence of gendered norms that define women's place
in society enables the patriarchy to work in favour of capitalism and vice versa. The interdependence between the patriarchy and the mode of
production will be analysed in this essay through three principle premises. The starting point will look at the social organisation of hierarchical sexual
relations based on biological natures. This will be the foundational and underlying basis in which the patriarchy subliminally persists and reaffirms
itself to influence capitalist societies. Further on, it will look at the ways in which male–female relations that have persisted from precapitalist times

Failure Mode Effect and Criticality Analysis of
Stub axle subassembly
1. Introduction: FMECA is a methodology to identify and analyse predicted failure modes of various parts within the assembly or system. It is a
technique to resolve potential problems in a system before they occur. It is most widely used reliability analysis technique performed between the
conceptual and initial stage of the detailed design phase of the system in order to assure that all the potential failures have been considered and the
proper provisions have been made to eliminate these failures. [1] (Ref. system reliability theory,2nd edition, Marvin Rausand) this technique can assist

The outer racer of the bearing is fastening into the boss. The whole subassembly is then attached with the steering arm, stub axle by means of welded
joints and the plate welded to the chassis by means of Rod end bearing(2). The steering arm is joined with the steering rod by swivel joint as shown
in the fig1. By going through the force diagram2 of the system below, the number of components those are highly stressed and because of which may
fail or lack in desired performance is four.
i. Stub axle: stub axle whose main function is to be a hostage of the wheel may be deformed due to high fatigue stress induced due to the repetitive
compressive load on upper edge and tensile on lower edge as many times as the wheel experiences high impact load in upward direction. And the
result is the difficulty while cornering. Even though the probability of failure of stub axle is higher due to impact failure of weld joints. Which may
cause the serious safety effect.
ii. Hose and Bearing subassembly: As its main function is to reduce the friction, and providing bearing support, its conceivable failure is detected by
testing during maintenance. the probability of failure is either wearing off the rolling element, or misalignment of bearing which is a result of failure of
bearing spacer. The system effect due to this is difficulty in cornering the vehicle, harsh

Steps to Preparation for Failure Mode and Effects Analysis
Pre–Steps for preparing for FMEA.
Step 1: Select a process to evaluate with FMEA.
This is where a process to be evaluated with FMEA is carefully selected. When selecting a process, special attention should be paid to the
complexity of the process selected. A process that is not so large and complex is preferred to a large and complex process. For example, select
'prevention of pressure sore' instead of 'pressure sore' as a process to evaluate with FMEA. This is because evaluating pressure will involve causes,
prevention, treatment and risks factors.
Step 2: Recruit a multidisciplinary team.
The team should include everyone that is involved in the process. All team members do not necessarily have to follow the process through the ... Show

Failure mode is anything that could possibly go wrong, whether minor, major, and rare problems. After identifying failure modes, the team will also
identify possible causes for each failure mode listed.
Step 5: For each failure mode, have the team assign a numeric value for likelihood of each occurrence, likelihood of detection, and severity.
In this step, the team assigns numeric value known as the 'Risk Priority Number (RPN). The purpose of assigning RPN is to help the team identify
areas that are most likely to have problem so that special attention could be given to such areas and improvement made proactively.
After successfully going through the 5th step, the team will carry out the 3 steps of FMEA which are the likelihood of occurrence, likelihood of
detection, severity, and assign score as appropriate. 3. Occurrence: This is when the team consensually answered the question of, how likely is it that
this failure will occur? The ability to answer this question will help the team to determine what score to assign to the step in question. The score will
determine the level of priority to be given to that particular step. Score is assigned between one and 10. One means "very unlikely to occur" while 10
mean "very likely to occur"
Detection: The team seeks to answer the question of "If this failure mode occurs, how likely is it that it will be detected is? The team has to determine if

Asynchronous Transfer Mode Wireless Network
Project name: ATM wireless network ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) has been advocated as an important technology for all types of services
and networks. Most people believe that ATM will be the standard for the future B–ISDN (Broadband Integrated Services Digital Network). From the
service point of view, ATM combines both the data and multimedia information into the wired networks while scales well from backbones to the
customer premises networks. To ensure the success of ATM, lots of the design issues have been standardized by ATM Forum. Wireless personal
communication networks (PCN) has been growing very fast in the last decade. Nowadays, laptop, cellular phone, and pagers are very popular. Many
systems have been developed to provide different services, such as, Personal Communications Service (PCS), Portable Telephone Systems, and
Satellite Communications System. Usually, these services do not guarantee QoS (Quality of Services) so they are not suitable for the fast growing
multimedia applications. Due to the success of ATM on wired networks, wireless ATM (WATM) is a direct t result of the ATM "everywhere"
movement. WATM can be viewed as a solution for next
–generation personal communication networks, or a wireless extension of the B–ISDN
networks, which will support integrated data transmission (data, voice and video) with guaranteed QoS. WATM architecture and protocols are already
being well discussed. The ATM Forum are currently involved in defining the baseline

Mode Of Duality
Thanks for sharing the start of your untitled project with me. The initial chapters were beautiful in aesthetics, yet at times weird and unsettling, and
insightful into the dynamic of the main character(s) of the story and the people around them. There were many great lines that exuded the environment
being created. Some of the many lines I enjoyed were, "It always reminded them of something a whaler would find–a great big ribcage of a beast so
much bigger than themselves. (3)", "They broke down in this way, quite softly at first, with the bat of an eye of a lick of the lips, and then louder,
with stifled hiccups and full bellied inhales. (3)", "They seemed frail, like birds' bones, and her skin had shimmered like pewter. (8)" and "dusted...

I was a bit confused about the central character(s) of the piece. My initial thought is that they are twins, however, there are moments of singularity that
caused me while reading to question it and assume another mode of duality. Of course, I may be reading too much into it, nevertheless, being clearer
about the central character(s) could lessen any potential confusion later into the piece. For example, "They'd dated in school, but had much of a
relationship–they had worried that it would be too much work, but, in their journal, had notated that they feared they really weren't good enough...(7)"
and then in the dialogue later there's, "Thanks for meeting us (8)." If the central characters are twins, did the twins both date her? Do they do the exact
same things? For Annabella, what is she doing now? She has artistic endeavors that she wants to explore, but knowing what she's doing in the city
could bring some perspective to her, how she perceives the art of others at that moment and her own, which fits with the 'date' at the gallery, and what
she's battling against for her attention to add some authenticity to her yearning, if it's not projection by the central characters of course. This could be
introduced in clues through her dialogue if it's not meant to be introduced yet. At the gallery show, when the central character is trying to take in
Annabella's impression of the show and wrestle their emotions of what they'd heard, the line, "...but then questioning why they felt so attached to a
phone in the first place. (10)", connecting the brief notion of interiority to the aversion of technology (i.e. their phone) to the news about their dog
dying could drive the feeling home to the reader. Good start and I look forward to more from the

The General Purpose Of The Failure Mode And Effects...
C. Explain the general purpose of the failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) process.
Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) is approach to examine possible problems early on in the development of a process to evaluate how the
process might fail. To evaluate prior to the process being implemented it will make it easier to take actions to overcome issues and change them.
(Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) Tool, 2017)
C1. Describe the seven steps of the FMEA process.
Step 1: "Select a process to evaluate with FMEA" (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) Tool, 2017). In the first step will define what is to be
evaluated and with the process that will be used.
Step 2: "Recruit a multidisciplinary team" (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) Tool, 2017). This step involves gating of a team with diverse
backgrounds and with expertise in the area to be evaluated. A team advisor must also be appointed.
Step 3: "Have a meeting to list all of the steps in the process" (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) Tool, 2017) Design and confirm the
diagram that will be used. Number the steps that were identified in the diagram.
Step 4: "Have the team list failure modes and causes" (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) Tool, 2017). List of anything that could possibly
go wrong and that would prevent the process steps from being successful. Some actions will benefit to avoid multiple problems. Recheck the improved

Pros And Cons Of Being A Therapist
As therapist, we do need good communication skills, because we want our client to be involved in the therapy process. My first negative impact is
rejecting help or another point of view. To change it to something positive I have to learn to accept others people thoughts and ideas even at moments
when I'm feeling stressed. Sometimes people look at situations in a different way and they may be able to provide recommendations on how to better
deal with the stress. Also, we can't allow that a stressful situation negatively impacts the service provided to our patients. Secondly, I need to provide
everyone the same treat; even when feeling stress due to a timeline. Every person has a different way of accomplishing goals and just because they are...

Explain what it means to you to be a therapist and to be a therapeutic tool. Identify 2 examples of characteristics which are reflective of the therapeutic
modes discussed in lecture information, which you feel you possess. Explain.
For me a therapist should serve as guidance and support for this individual that is going through a difficult or different situation. As therapist, we get
prepared with the required knowledge and may have more information about their specific condition, we also serve as educators. Being a therapeutic
tool is listening to our patient concerns and having respect for our patients. According to the therapeutic modes I'm encouraging and advocator.
According to the topic presentation an advocating mode is "understanding that disability is a result of environmental barriers and as therapist
responding to physical, social, and environmental barriers that a client encounters (Marazita, n.d)". For example, while advocating for a patient we
need to be passionate and persistent. The other mode was encouraging, according to our notes we are "providing the client with hope, courage, and the
will to explore or perform a given activity (Marazita, n.d.)". For example, while providing encouragement we need positive thinking and

This paper will explore the association between Quebeckers and how much the average Quebecker really likes Canada on a scale from really
dislike (0) to really like (100). This association is relevant because the history of division between Quebec and the rest of Canada has resulted in
many referendums and resentment that thrives today as much as it did in the past. The results may not be shocking, but the empirical data analysis
shows that the average Quebecker does not really like Canada when the threshold for 'really like' is set at 80 or more out of 100. The rest of this paper
will thoroughly look at the steps that it took to reach this conclusion including a descriptive summary of the methodological considerations, a detailed...

The former variables is ranked from 0–100 where 0 is really dislike and 100 is really like, while the latter is simply a nominal variable used for
filtering cases. This means that the province variable was used to narrow the data into 'Quebec only' results to allow the comparison between the
two. They were specifically chosen because they best fit the direction of the research where I wanted to explore the relationship between overall
feelings towards Canada in a particular province: Quebec. Neither variable was recoded because it showed to be unnecessary, in the case of
provinces, and illogical for the PES11_11, a scale variable (highest level of measurement). Since this is a scale variable, I was able to calculate all the
measures of central tendency (measures that tell us the most typical values) and dispersion (how typical these typical central values are). These statistics
are relevant to calculate because they allow for more meaningful calculations that allow us to draw more specific and accurate conclusions about claims
such as the standard error, confidence intervals, z–scores and statistical significance.
The bar chart in Figure 1 shows the frequency that each Quebecker chose their feelings about Canada. It shows that a majority of respondents falls at

The Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA) can be described as a risk and reliability tool for management. The most prominent proactive risk
assessment technique used within healthcare has been Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) (Shebl, Franklin, & Barber, 2012). FMEA is an
organized and qualitative tool to help physicians anticipate what might go wrong with a process or product and how the failure effects the patient.
FMEA can also help find the possible causes of failures and the likelihood of failures being detected before it happens. There are three criteria for an
FMEA: 1) the severity of the effect on the patient 2) how frequently the problem is likely to occur and 3) how easily the problem can be detected. The

Risk Management is a process of identifying hazards associated risks, controlling risks, and monitoring the effectiveness. The use of FMEA in
health care was performed in the early 1990s. Since then, FMEA has been used in a variety of complex processes comprising of multiple steps that
could result in failure. FMEA is designed to dissect a particular process into its individual steps, isolate the potential steps that could cause the
problem, assign a specific risk level to each abnormal step, analyze the risk potential for the process, and assign and action plan to correct the problem
(Fibuch & Ahmed, 2014). The FMEA is a method that examines potential failures in processes. It can also be used to evaluate risk management
priorities for modifying potential problems. Risk management can help avoid or eliminate risks by identifying an alternate solution which eliminates
the risk. Additionally, risk management can prevent or mitigate risk by planning a preventive action. This can help physicians improve quality or care
for the patients while reducing costs for the health care system.
A sentinel event is defined as any unanticipated event in a healthcare setting resulting in death or serious psychological or physical injury to a patient.
The goal is to avoid adverse events that could potentially cause harm to the patients, employees, families, or others in the patient care setting. FMEA

The Modes of Laughter
Modes of Laughter There are a plethora of ways in which the prudent reader can discern the elements of modern laughter as noted within Daniel
Grojnowski's Aux commencements du rire modern when analyzing Marcel Pagnol's My Father's Glory, Alfred Jarry's Ubu Roi, and Eugene Ionesco's
The Bald Soprano. Virtually all three of these works celebrate an irreverence that unabashedly admits them into the School of the Absurd, although
Ionesco's is probably the least ridiculous. Still, it would be difficult to contend with the fact that laughter is the aim of all of these pieces of literature.
Although Grojnowski has described five different modes of producing laughter within Aux commencements du rire modern, these three works focus
primarily on humor and nonsense, the latter of which inevitably leads to the undecidable. One of the key aspects of humor is that it is oftentimes bitter
sweet. Elements of humor are intrinsically linked with those of sadness. Of the two forms of humor that Grojnowski discusses within the
aforementioned document, the one that is most prevalent within Pagnol's work is that in which moments of levity punctuate themes and things that are
otherwise soberly serious and, for the most part, sad. Although My Father's Glory is the least absurd of the three works discussed within this essay,
there is a finite degree of irreverence contained within this memoir because there is effectively no plot. The manuscript simply exists as a series of
anecdotes, all which

Each ATM cell contains exactly 53 octets, 5 octets for header 48 octets for data. As a core protocol, ATM is used in Synchronous Optical Networking
(SONET)/Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH), which are backbone of Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). Internet Service Providers
(ISPs) use Asynchronous Transfer Mode on their long–distance private networks. ATMs operate at the Layer 2 (Data Link layer) of the OSI model, over
fiber cable or twisted–pair cable (http://www.wanredundancy.com).
The ATM transport hierarchy is shown in the figure below. The physical layer can be divided into three functional levels:
Transmission Path Level: This extends between network elements that assemble and disassemble the payload of a transmission system. For end–to–end
communication, the payload is end–user information. For user–to–network communication, the payload may be call–control signaling information (call
setup and call termination). Cell delineation and header error–control functions are required at the end points of each transmission path.
Digital Section Level: This refers to the exchanges or signal transfer points in a network that are involved in switching data streams.
Regenerator Section Level: This is a part of the digital section.
Virtual Channels and Virtual Paths
Logical connections in ATM are referred to as virtual channels. A virtual channel is analogous to a virtual circuit inX.25 or a frame–relay logical
connection. It's

The mode is the midpoint of the interval that occurs most frequently.
a) mean
∑ fx = 2658 n 500

b) mode
Looking at the frequency column, we can see that the "4–5" interval occurs most often. So, the mode is the midpoint of that interval, which is 4.5 . We
could also say that the modal interval is "4–5".
c) median
The middle data value is between values 250 and 251. Both these data values occur in the "4–5" interval (look at the Cumulative Frequency column).
So the median is 4.5, the midpoint of the "4–5" interval.

Narrative Modes Within Perfume: The Story of a Murderer In his novel Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, Patrick SГјskind chooses third person
narration to tell the story of Jean–Baptiste Grenouille. And though Grenouille is the character at which the story is based upon, we are also taken
through the minds and actions of other characters through the unlimited knowledge of an omniscient narrative voice. By seeing and smelling the world
through Grenouille's eyes and nose while at the same time having it told through several characters instead of him alone, we are somewhat left

3). Because of the narrative mode of this novel, we are not only able to be told the story of Grenouille's birth and troubled childhood, but we are also
able to read the minds of these characters and their uncanny feelings towards Grenouille, which would not be possible through any other narrative
mode or voice. And this is all being done to create a distance between the reader and Grenouille. As the story continues, we begin see and smell the
world through Grenouille and somewhat adapt to his unnatural personality. Whatever attachment the reader has with Grenouille at this point is
suddenly crippled when he commits his first murder. Although a point of view is given through the victim's senses as well as Grenouille's, there is
a sudden shock to the discovery his deadly intentions, which up until now no one, not even himself, thought he was capable of: "he did not look at
her, did not see her delicate, freckled face, her red lips, her large sparkling green eyes, keeping his eyes closed tight as he strangled her, for he had only
one concern–not to lose the least trace of her scent" (42, Ch. 8). By painting a vivid picture of a beautiful innocent girl that Grenouille could not see
(as he was closing his eyes), the narrator leaves readers with only feelings of disgust towards Grenouille and his selfish, cold–blooded thirst for scent.
This situation could only been sufficiently told through the narrative mode used, and now readers begin to lose all sympathy towards

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Rail Mode
Rail mode is the mode of transport which has the highest passenger capacity and cargo capacity; out of all the modes of land transport available
such as bus mode, private vehicle mode, motor bike mode, bicycle mode, etc. The total number of passengers or the total volume of cargo rail mode
can carry at any given time is very high compared to any other mode of land transport available. And not only the total capacity, but also the unit
capacity of rail mode is very high compared to any other mode of land transport. Therefore sometimes, rail mode may be the only mode of land
transport which can cater the transportation of project cargo and over dimension cargo.

Language Modes
Language arts is the term typically used by educators to describe the curriculum area that includes four modes of language: listening, speaking, reading,
and writing. Language arts teaching constitutes a particularly important area in teacher education, since listening, speaking, reading, and writing
permeate the curriculum; they are essential to learning and to the demonstration of learning in every content area. Teachers are charged with guiding
students toward proficiency in these four language modes, which can be compared and contrasted in several ways. Listening and speaking involve oral
language and are often referred to as primary modes since they are acquired naturally in home and community environments before children come to ...

The curriculum is not determined by texts and tests; rather, this model stresses the encouragement of language processes that lead to growth in the
language competencies (both written and oral) of students, as well as exposure to broad content. The interests and needs of the students, along with the
knowledge and interests of the teacher, determine the specific curriculum. Thus reading materials, writing genres and topics, and discussion activities
will vary from classroom to classroom and even from student to student within a classroom.
"Authentic" assessment is the rule in these classrooms, that is, assessment that grows from the real language work of the students rather than from
formal tests. Clearly the process model leads to more flexible and varied curriculum and instruction than the other two models. While the heritage and
competencies models have come under criticism for being too rigid and unresponsive to student differences, the process model has been criticized as
too unstructured and inconsistent to dependably give all students sufficient grounding in language content and skills. In actuality, teachers of language
arts generally strive to help their students develop proficiency in language use, develop understanding of their own and other cultures, and experience
and practice the processes of reading and writing. Thus it seems that the three models are not mutually

Understanding And Exploring Assumptions Of Assumptions
Understanding and Exploring Assumptions Assumptions are important, but not in the way; many would think. The term assumption sometimes is
associated with the word guess, but that's not the meaning as it concerned statistics' to ensure that your data. In the area of statistics ',' the word
assumption signifies completeness of the data collected (Triola, 2008) . The assumption aids the researcher in verifying the data because if the data
does not meet the requirement, the researcher must, then treat the data in a different way to ensure the best interpolation of the data. Assumption is
required in completing statically analyses: histograms, levenes test for homogeneity of variance, normality, normal pp–plots as well in the use of
chi–square (Field, 2013; Hayes & Cai, 2007; Triola, 2008)witch use the assumption of random sampling. In the use of ANOVA method, the assumption
of normality is the basis for the technique. Assumptions aid in identifying deviation of data as it concern normality. Perhaps one–way to identify or
investigate deviation is to simply view a histogram from within a package such as SPSS, Minitab, SAS and Statdisk. Assumptions matter for a number
of reasons, according to (Field, 2013; Hayes & Cai, 2007) there are perhaps three components of importance when talking about assumptions, e.g.,

Research Paper On Failure Mode And Effect Analysis
5.0 Analysis and Methodology
5.1 Introduction
Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) is a specific safety tool for estimating the effect of potential failure modes of assemblies, subsystems,
components and functions. It is basically a reliability safety method to recognize failure modes that would adversely disturb overall system reliability
analysis model. Failure mode and effects analysis has the proficiency to include failure rates for each failure mode in order to accomplish a
quantitative probabilistic analysis. Furthermore, the FMEA can be extended to assess failure modes that may provide result in an undesired system
state and such as a system hazard, and thereby also be used for hazard analysis. Failure mode effect and critical analysis (FMECA) is the detailed
version of the Failure mode effect analysis (FMEA). The FMEA method is an ordered bottom–up assessment technique that focuses on the function or

A Summary Of Data Analysis
There are numerous ways to represent this data visually and numerically, the first graph I did was the stem and leaf plot where you can see the
frequency much clearer since the original data numbers are shown as in compare like a histogram where the frequency is easy to see, the original
data points have been lost. For an example the grades, there are 13 values that were in the seventies, but is hard to determine from the histogram what
those values might have been. In the stem and leaf plot shows the original values way easier, which is perfect to show to younger students because the
horizontal leaves in the stem and leaf plot is the same to the vertical bars in the histogram, and the leaves have the heights that equal the numbers in the

In the box and whisker, the median is 78, almost 80, and that fifty percent of the students scored between 67 and 86 points, and seeing the plot is
skewed to the left means that there are more values in the highs rather the lower numbers. The histogram and stem and leaf plot also shows how
students passed the test by seeing the median and mode on the graph.
The assigning of the scores I decided to have five letter grades which were, A, B, C, D, and F. Letter grade A is 90
–100, B is 80–89, C is 70–79, D is
60–69, and F is 59–0. The reason I chose this grade assignment is because I wanted to know how many students have "passed" the exam beyond
average or below. The average is a 70–79 and having five categories can show which students actually know the subject or need to work on it, whether
over the average or under the average.
Describing the "middle" of the data is that the central tendency by using the mean, median, or mode. The mean gives us the average, the median gives
us which is the number in the middle of the set, while mode show us the most frequently occurring value in a data set. The box and whisker and
histogram, it's better to use the median to describe the middle because since the mean is less than the median, that's why it's skewed because the high
scores influence the direction of the graph. In this case, the median may be a better option to represent the typical grade on the test.

researchers investigated which mode of communication would be the most effective and efficient for the child.
Angelman syndrome can cause cognitive, communication, and physical disabilities. It is a disorder that affects around 1 in 10,000 births and for the
majority of the cases, the cause is genetic. Angelman syndrome can be caused by an abnormality in chromosome 15. Previous research on Angelman

The main purpose of this study was to compare the efficacy of graphic and gestural modes of communication with a toddler with Angelman syndrome
(Martin, Reichle, Dimian, & Chen, 2013). The participant was Adam, a 21–month–old male with Angelman syndrome. Before the study started, Adam

Failureure Mode And Effect Analysis: Failure Mode And...
Abstract–Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) is a failure anticipation and risk assessment framework that alleviates potential failures in systems
and is being used in many industries. The main goal of FMEA is to identify all failures and their modes in a system, assesses their effect and
recommends corrective actions. It not only improves reliability and safety of complex systems but provides information for taking risk management
actions. The conventional FMEA quantifies a risk associated with a failure by assigning Risk priority number (RPN). RPN is based on the product of
occurrence (O), severity (S) and detection (D). This framework of quantifying risk has been criticized much in academia. Many advanced techniques

Risk is an uncertain, unreliable state or condition that, if it occurs, has an effect on project goals. Risk management is an indispensable part of
successful project management. Risk management is the art and science of anticipating and planning for future uncertain events and the objective is to
understand and mitigate or control risks. Failure mode effect analysis is a structured analysis technique which defines, identifies and rejects probable
failures, disasters, and errors at component, subsystem and system levels [1]. The main motto behind FMEA is to identify the likely failure modes,
establish a cause– effect relationship with the failure mode, and enumerate the accompanying risk. The analysis provides a tool to correct the most
prominent failure modes that effect the system most.[1.1] FMEA is being used in a wide range of industries like automation ,aviation ,aerospace,
electronics, nuclear, mechanical, and chemical industries.
A failure mode is the fashion in which a component, subsystem, system, process, etc. could possibly fail to perform the intended function. A failure
cause is a design weakness which leads to a failure. Each failure mode has an associated effect. A failure effect is the consequence of a failure mode
on the function of the product or process as perceived by the customer.
Conventional way of analyzing risk in FMEA is based on developing

The large number of carriers is due in part to the low capital that entering the trucking business requires. High variable cost and low fixed cost
characterized the cost structure. The motor carrier does not require extensive terminal and equipment investment and does not invest in its own
highway, and the carrier pays for highway use through fees such as use of taxes licencing charges. These variable expenses contribute to the high
variety cost structure.
Motors carriers are classified in manner as truckload and less than truck load. Less than truck load carrier accept small packages of shipment where
truckload carrier accepts shipment of full truckload size.
ADVANTAGES OF ROADWAYS
1.road transportation offers advantages of speed, door–to–door flexibility and widespread geographic coverage.
2. the major advantage of motor transport over the modes is its inherent ability to provide service to any location.
3. the large number of motor carriers suggest a high availability. For example, many more motor carriers than railroad facilities are available in an area.
4. motor carriers do not need to consolidate wagons together or decouple wagons at various locations on the route as it in railway transport it speeds up

ATM is called Asynchronous Transfer Mode. ATM is a networking technology which transmits information in the form fixed cells. The main vision
behind designing ATM was integration of services and performance requirements of both telephony and data networking which was shortly called
Broadband Integrated Service Vision (B–ISDN). This cell relay protocol was designed by ATM forum and was universally adopted by ITU
–T. Usually
the size of the fixed cells is about 53 bytes with 5 bytes for header and 48 bytes payload. When compared to the cell sizes used in the previous
technologies, the size of an ATM is small. The smaller size of the ATM cells gives us a major advantage. ATM enables us to transmit video, audio and
data over the same network... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This should be done without any degradation in the performance or without requiring any replacement. 3.The design must be implemented in a less
expensive method. In case the ATM becomes the backbone of the international communications the cost of implementing it should not be a major
barrier. 4.The proposed system must ensure accurate and predictable delivery. This is possible only if ATM is a Connection
–Oriented system. 5.The
major objective of ATM was to move most of the functionalities to the hardware side and have comparatively less functionalities in the software.
This will ensure higher speed in the delivery of packets. It is clear from the above points that the major goal of ATM was to ensure guaranteed
Quality of Service (QoS). To ensure this various service classes were defined by the ATM forum like Constant Bit
–Rate, Real time Variable Bit–Rate,
Non Real time Variable Bit–Rate, Unspecified Bit–Rate, Available Bit–Rate. ARCHITECTURE OF ATM NETWORKS The ATM is a cell
–switched
network as discussed previously. There are two important interfaces which acts as a backbone to the whole architecture of ATM. The first is
Network–to–Network interface (NNI) and the other is the User–to–Network interface (UNI). The User–to–Network interface is used to connect the
User access devices or the end points to the switches, while the Network–to–Network interface is used to connect various switches. The connection
between two end

Ventilation Modes
The Effects of Different Ventilation Modes on Sleep Quality in Critically Ill Patients Who require Mechanical Ventilation
Introduction:
Sleep is a physiological process essential to the human body to rest and maintain overall health1. One complication of acute illness is sleep deprivation
seen as ineffective nocturnal sleep, reduced (NREM) and (REM) sleep, and an increase in the waking hours within the circadian rhythms2. Recent
studies suggest that invasive mechanical ventilation influences the sleep quality in intubated patients with respiratory failure3. Mechanically ventilated
patients describe sleep deprivation as a source of stress that depresses both mental and physical states4. Sleep deprivation can cause anxiety, depression,
agitation, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They applied low–pressure strategy to achieve a mean Vt of about 6.6 ml/kg4. Three patients only developed central sleep apnea. However, the pre–set
pressure level in PSV doesn't allow the patient to regulate ventilator–delivered support during slow wave sleep. Therefore, the patient–ventilator
asynchronies were higher in PSV compared to PAV4. Also, the number of arousals during the total sleep time was 16/hr in PSV and 9/hr in PAV4.
Patient–ventilator asynchronies include auto–triggering, doubled triggering, ineffective triggering, and delayed cycling4. Total asynchronies were two
times larger in PSV4. Although the entire sleep time was similar in PSV and PAV, better sleep architecture with less sleep fragmentation was seen with

American Beauty
American Beauty A Sociological Movie Review American Beauty, a film that was written by Allan Ball and directed by Sam Mendes in 1999 is a
unique piece that demonstrates many sociological themes throughout the development of the plot. The characters strive to portray themselves as the
All American Family. They live in a nice house, drive nice cars and seem perfectly normal to the general public, but the audience is allowed to view
the deep set issues that plague the main characters; Lester Burnham (Kevin Spacey), Carolyn Burnham (Annette Bening), Jane Burnham (Thora Birch),
and Jane's best friend Angela Hayes (Mena Suvari). As the plot develops there are many obvious parallels relating the lives of the characters to
Merton's Strain... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the course of the film, Lester Burnham goes through a large change. When we first meet Lester he is living his life as a ritualist. He goes
to work every day because that is what he is supposed to do, but he puts in little to no effort and he has little regard for the completion of his goals.
He has no motivation. His marriage is failing and he has an empty relationship with his daughter. Lester says "both my wife and daughter think I'm
this gigantic loser, and they're right, I have lost something. I'm not exactly sure what it is, but I know I didn't always feel thisВ…sedated. But you
know what; it's never too late to get it back" (American Beauty). From this statement we can see that there is going to be a change in Lester over
the course of the movie. When he meets Jane's friend Angela we can see an immediate change in Lester. He lusts for her constantly and his life
becomes consumed by trying to spend time with her and help her to be attracted to him. He suddenly becomes more enthusiastic about life. He
describes this as feeling that he had been in a coma for twenty years and he is finally waking up. After this Lester completely alters his lifestyle. He
leaves his job, begins to work out everyday, buys his dream car and starts smoking pot with Ricky Fitz. Before he met Angela, Carolyn was in charge
of everything that happened around the house and she made all of the

Different Types And Modes Of Mode Selective Devices
LP11 modes (LP11a+LP11b) and even all three modes (LP01+LP11a+LP11b)over few
–mode fiber (FMF)The transmission system with mode
multiplexing are a very crucial problem. The mode selective devices proposed in divided into two major categories: free–space based (FSB) and fiber
based(FB).Free space components are bulky in size ex liquid–crystal–on–silicon (Lcos) spatial light modulator (SLM). But fiber based mode selective
device have compact and easiness of integration. .Firstly proposed 107–Gb/s coherent optical OFDM (CO–OFDM) transmission over a 4.5–km

Transfer of energy from one ideal mode to another during propagation only due to mode coupling. It has been observed that practically strong couple
modes having equal or nearly equal propagation constant but weakly coupled modes having a highly unequal propagation constant. The separation
between two modes results in modal dispersion increasing capacity through mode division multiplexing (MDM). SMF ( single–mode fiber helps in the
wave movement in two polarization conditions. Polarization–mode dispersion (PMD) and polarization–dependent loss (PDL) have long been described
by field coupling models. It has been observed that strongly coupled modal group delay or gain depend only no. of modes and variance of
accumulated delay or gain and can be derived from the eigenvalue distributions of certain random variables[12].
SDM (space division multiplexing) has been putforth by Savory. SDM is extremely challenging technology, of requiring developments in all areas of
Photonics Technology. The optical communication systems are being upgraded every day .There is a rapid development taking place in this field at
the global level in the space division multiplexing. Space Division Multiplexing (SDM) is conceptually simple, SDM is extremelychalleng
technologically, requiring the development of new fibers, amplifiers, multiplexers, digital signal processing circuits, and other components. The
multiplexing means the utilization of channel by the division of the space. It is

Personal Reflection : My Personal Experience : Building...
Over the course of the 5 weeks of experience that I have had, I have been able to see many of these terms come to life in the relationships that I am
building with my individual resident, and with the large group of 20+ residents. I have seen many different interpersonal events and the value of and
the skill that is takes to intentionally and skillfully use my personality and traits and modes with Residents in difficult situations. One thing I have
found true for myself is that it is more difficult than it sounds to execute pure mode use. All my life I have encountered conflicts and been trained in
how to deal with them, using many of the techniques encompassed in the modes, so it has become second nature to respond to conflicts the ways in
which I have been trained. However, Taylor (2008) points out the importance of intentionally and skillfully choosing the modes that will best meet the
client where they are and help them to be able to engage in their occupations, instead of responding using several approaches at once. However, I have
found that as I have been met with interpersonal events, I respond naturally with aspects of both encouragement and instructing, as opposed to utilizing
mode shift to intentionally shift modes when I sense that one is needed to best meet my client. While I feel that I have been able to accomplish a
positive outcome in most of the interpersonal events that I faced, I was not practicing how to be an intentional and effective clinician by doing this.
One such time, a Resident was feeling very discouraged about a new activity and reacted with agitation and anger (emotionally charged therapy session
event), and I responded by giving encouragement, reassuring them, and telling them the things I have seen them do correctly, but at the same time also
reminding them that the only way to get better at something is to keep trying, explaining the benefits of doing it, and demonstrating how to do it again
in a different way. I used both encouraging responses and instructing responses, instead of simply choosing to use encouraging mode or instructing
mode purely. Another time, a power dilemma occurred when my Resident and I were playing a simplified game of Go Fish and she began to

The Importance Of Error Analysis And Failure Mode Effects...

  • 1. The Importance Of Error Analysis And Failure Mode Effects... Introduction In every work environment, there are various continuous quality initiatives in place to improve organization's product or service quality. For instance, in the United States, many patients have been losing lives due to serious and avoidable medical errors or safety events (Muething et al., 2012). For this reason, it is crucial to understand how these avertable medical errors or safety events can be prevented or eliminated. There are factors involved in the process of analyzing particular errors in an organization. This paper focuses on two processes of error analysis (Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA)) to address unnecessary medical errors (Serious Safety Events (SSE)). SSE in a healthcare ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These encounters make it cumbersome to classify alleviate primary causes of harm. Therefore, it affects the ability of the society to identify and prove the efficacy of patient safety risk management solutions that decrease medical errors and preventable serious safety events. Measures push for improvement, inform patients and effect payment. Both public and private payers apply measures to make a decision on the health providers they should contract and to enhance improvements in healthcare. Hence, describing, categorizing and emphasizing on harm prevention is critical for any practical risk management program. To prevent or eliminate numerous deaths related medical errors. American Society for Healthcare Risk Management has come up with Getting to Zero. Getting to Zero is a Serious Safety Events initiative, which emphasizes on event investigation stages. The core part of the investigation process is to establish harm–score. This always prompts an organizational response and risk management. Therefore, without proper and accurate harm–score examination, the chances for applying operational response may be wanting. American Society for Healthcare Risk Management developed Harm Classification Tool to help risk managers and health care leaders to group an event when deviation happens. Additionally, the tool aids them to ascertain what actions are suitable for a particular event. The tool supports the American Society ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. The Mode Of A Teacher This assignment fully put me in the mode of a teacher as I completed the following data maintenance procedures: Performing a pre and post test to measure students knowledge on the content and skills that I was teaching with this unit. This unit was taught to a class of kindergardners,so I made sure not to overstimulate the students and guide them through information that I am teaching them. Through this unit, I planned on have students to become knowledgeable about the four major parts of a flower, a plant's needs, the steps of how to plant a seed, and to make predictions about plants growing under conditions without water, sunlight, soil, or seeds. During this unit, I engaged my students in many kinesthetic, auditory, and visual learning styles to meet the students' needs. The following strategies and activities are just a few of the many that was implemented during this lesson: trace worksheet, sequencing, copying, modelling, guided inquiry, direct lesson, guided and independent practice, HOT questions, and much more. All students showed a jump in their grades over 20% or more. All students scored 70% or more. Out of 15 students, only two scored below 80, with a score of 70%. Based on these results, I feel that the instructional procedures that were employed for this lesson truly helped in the mastery of the content presented in this lesson for majority of the class. A broad overview of the scheme of the Act suggests three things: first, it is not punitive in nature. The various modes of relief provided for under it are aimed, principally, at protecting the victim from any further abuse and compensating her for the abuse already suffered, and additionally, at restoring stability and harmony in the family unit. Thus, all the provisions have been structured so as to give effect to this dual purpose. I feel things, I see things, I taste things, I smell things, and I hear things. Thus, it is true, the first thing grasped by the intellect is being. As, Avicenna said: "that which the intellect first conceives as, in a way, the most evident, and to which it reduces all its concepts, is being"1. Then, if all beings from the smallest particle to God himself, is being, or if being is universal, how do I differentiate the diversity of all that I perceive each time when I awake? The term used positively is a thing. The essence make a thing what it is, different from all other thing. Therefore a thing expresses the essence of a being whereas the being express the existence of a thing or the ' to be'. The second term used while considering every being is itself is One. One is negative, because when being is considered per se, it cannot be divide, in other words is One. Thus, the term One is used the express the undividedness of a being. Then again, as I mentioned above, the general modes can be considered in two ways. The second mode necessitate to follow every being in relation to others. This first way is the distinction between a being to another being. The distinction between one being to another being is called another. For example: ' Mum my job is finish now, can you give me another one. The term another make a distinction to one thing to another. The second way is the correspondence of one being to another being. This is possible only as St. Thomas explained: "if something which is such that it agrees with every being. Such a being is the soul, which, as is said in The Soul, in some way is all things"3. The soul on the other hand has the knowing and the appetitive powers. Patriarchal structures that have played a profound role in shaping the economy throughout history remain systemic to the organisation of today's economic capitalism. Maria Mies' work, Patriarchy and Accumulation on a World Scale, looks at the role of the patriarchy in maintaining social relations of production that is conducive to capitalistic ideals. This notion remains relevant and potent in today's society. Remnants of patriarchal relations fundamentally enable the extent of class, exploitation, agency and power that drives this capitalist economy. While man–woman relations are conducive the process of capital accumulation, they are not mutually indispensible. That is, there is no infinite or explicit relationship between labour–wage gender inequality under capitalism. However, it is the inability to disaffirm the prevalence of gendered norms that define women's place in society enables the patriarchy to work in favour of capitalism and vice versa. The interdependence between the patriarchy and the mode of production will be analysed in this essay through three principle premises. The starting point will look at the social organisation of hierarchical sexual relations based on biological natures. This will be the foundational and underlying basis in which the patriarchy subliminally persists and reaffirms itself to influence capitalist societies. Further on, it will look at the ways in which male–female relations that have persisted from precapitalist times continue to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In this step, the team assigns numeric value known as the 'Risk Priority Number (RPN). The purpose of assigning RPN is to help the team identify areas that are most likely to have problem so that special attention could be given to such areas and improvement made proactively. After successfully going through the 5th step, the team will carry out the 3 steps of FMEA which are the likelihood of occurrence, likelihood of detection, severity, and assign score as appropriate. 3. Occurrence: This is when the team consensually answered the question of, how likely is it that this failure will occur? From the service point of view, ATM combines both the data and multimedia information into the wired networks while scales well from backbones to the customer premises networks. To ensure the success of ATM, lots of the design issues have been standardized by ATM Forum. Wireless personal communication networks (PCN) has been growing very fast in the last decade. Nowadays, laptop, cellular phone, and pagers are very popular. Many systems have been developed to provide different services, such as, Personal Communications Service (PCS), Portable Telephone Systems, and Satellite Communications System. They were specifically chosen because they best fit the direction of the research where I wanted to explore the relationship between overall feelings towards Canada in a particular province: Quebec. Neither variable was recoded because it showed to be unnecessary, in the case of provinces, and illogical for the PES11_11, a scale variable (highest level of measurement). The most prominent proactive risk assessment technique used within healthcare has been Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) (Shebl, Franklin, & Barber, 2012). FMEA is an organized and qualitative tool to help physicians anticipate what might go wrong with a process or product and how the failure effects the patient. FMEA can also help find the possible causes of failures and the likelihood of failures being detected before it happens. There are three criteria for an FMEA: 1) the severity of the effect on the patient 2) how frequently the problem is likely to occur and 3) how easily the problem can be detected. The severity... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Risk Management is a process of identifying hazards associated risks, controlling risks, and monitoring the effectiveness. The use of FMEA in health care was performed in the early 1990s. Since then, FMEA has been used in a variety of complex processes comprising of multiple steps that could result in failure. FMEA is designed to dissect a particular process into its individual steps, isolate the potential steps that could cause the problem, assign a specific risk level to each abnormal step, analyze the risk potential for the process, and assign and action plan to correct the problem (Fibuch & Ahmed, 2014). The FMEA is a method that examines potential failures in processes. It can also be used to evaluate risk management priorities for modifying potential problems. Risk management can help avoid or eliminate risks by identifying an alternate solution which eliminates the risk. Additionally, risk management can prevent or mitigate risk by planning a preventive action. This can help physicians improve quality or care for the patients while reducing costs for the health care system. • 22. The Modes of Laughter Modes of Laughter There are a plethora of ways in which the prudent reader can discern the elements of modern laughter as noted within Daniel Grojnowski's Aux commencements du rire modern when analyzing Marcel Pagnol's My Father's Glory, Alfred Jarry's Ubu Roi, and Eugene Ionesco's The Bald Soprano. Virtually all three of these works celebrate an irreverence that unabashedly admits them into the School of the Absurd, although Ionesco's is probably the least ridiculous. Still, it would be difficult to contend with the fact that laughter is the aim of all of these pieces of literature. Although Grojnowski has described five different modes of producing laughter within Aux commencements du rire modern, these three works focus primarily on humor and nonsense, the latter of which inevitably leads to the undecidable. One of the key aspects of humor is that it is oftentimes bitter sweet. Elements of humor are intrinsically linked with those of sadness. Of the two forms of humor that Grojnowski discusses within the aforementioned document, the one that is most prevalent within Pagnol's work is that in which moments of levity punctuate themes and things that are otherwise soberly serious and, for the most part, sad. Although My Father's Glory is the least absurd of the three works discussed within this essay, there is a finite degree of irreverence contained within this memoir because there is effectively no plot. Cell delineation and header error–control functions are required at the end points of each transmission path. Digital Section Level: This refers to the exchanges or signal transfer points in a network that are involved in switching data streams. Regenerator Section Level: This is a part of the digital section. Virtual Channels and Virtual Paths Logical connections in ATM are referred to as virtual channels. And this is all being done to create a distance between the reader and Grenouille. As the story continues, we begin see and smell the world through Grenouille and somewhat adapt to his unnatural personality. Whatever attachment the reader has with Grenouille at this point is suddenly crippled when he commits his first murder. Although a point of view is given through the victim's senses as well as Grenouille's, there is a sudden shock to the discovery his deadly intentions, which up until now no one, not even himself, thought he was capable of: "he did not look at her, did not see her delicate, freckled face, her red lips, her large sparkling green eyes, keeping his eyes closed tight as he strangled her, for he had only one concern–not to lose the least trace of her scent" (42, Ch. 8). By painting a vivid picture of a beautiful innocent girl that Grenouille could not see (as he was closing his eyes), the narrator leaves readers with only feelings of disgust towards Grenouille and his selfish, cold–blooded thirst for scent. Language arts teaching constitutes a particularly important area in teacher education, since listening, speaking, reading, and writing permeate the curriculum; they are essential to learning and to the demonstration of learning in every content area. Teachers are charged with guiding students toward proficiency in these four language modes, which can be compared and contrasted in several ways. The curriculum is not determined by texts and tests; rather, this model stresses the encouragement of language processes that lead to growth in the language competencies (both written and oral) of students, as well as exposure to broad content. The interests and needs of the students, along with the knowledge and interests of the teacher, determine the specific curriculum. Thus reading materials, writing genres and topics, and discussion activities will vary from classroom to classroom and even from student to student within a classroom. "Authentic" assessment is the rule in these classrooms, that is, assessment that grows from the real language work of the students rather than from formal tests. Clearly the process model leads to more flexible and varied curriculum and instruction than the other two models. While the heritage and competencies models have come under criticism for being too rigid and unresponsive to student differences, the process model has been criticized as too unstructured and inconsistent to dependably give all students sufficient grounding in language content and skills. In actuality, teachers of language arts generally strive to help their students develop proficiency in language use, develop understanding of their own and other cultures, and experience and practice the processes of reading and writing. The term assumption sometimes is associated with the word guess, but that's not the meaning as it concerned statistics' to ensure that your data. In the area of statistics ',' the word assumption signifies completeness of the data collected (Triola, 2008) . The assumption aids the researcher in verifying the data because if the data does not meet the requirement, the researcher must, then treat the data in a different way to ensure the best interpolation of the data. Assumption is required in completing statically analyses: histograms, levenes test for homogeneity of variance, normality, normal pp–plots as well in the use of chi–square (Field, 2013; Hayes & Cai, 2007; Triola, 2008)witch use the assumption of random sampling. In the use of ANOVA method, the assumption of normality is the basis for the technique. Assumptions aid in identifying deviation of data as it concern normality. Perhaps one–way to identify or investigate deviation is to simply view a histogram from within a package such as SPSS, Minitab, SAS and Statdisk. Assumptions matter for a number of reasons, according to (Field, 2013; Hayes & Cai, 2007) there are perhaps three components of importance when talking about assumptions, e.g., Parameter estates, confidence intervals, and significance tests. Research Paper On Failure Mode And Effect Analysis 5.0 Analysis and Methodology 5.1 Introduction Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) is a specific safety tool for estimating the effect of potential failure modes of assemblies, subsystems, components and functions. It is basically a reliability safety method to recognize failure modes that would adversely disturb overall system reliability analysis model. Failure mode and effects analysis has the proficiency to include failure rates for each failure mode in order to accomplish a quantitative probabilistic analysis. Furthermore, the FMEA can be extended to assess failure modes that may provide result in an undesired system state and such as a system hazard, and thereby also be used for hazard analysis. Failure mode effect and critical analysis (FMECA) is the detailed version of the Failure mode effect analysis (FMEA). The histogram and stem and leaf plot also shows how students passed the test by seeing the median and mode on the graph. The assigning of the scores I decided to have five letter grades which were, A, B, C, D, and F. Letter grade A is 90 –100, B is 80–89, C is 70–79, D is 60–69, and F is 59–0. The reason I chose this grade assignment is because I wanted to know how many students have "passed" the exam beyond average or below. The average is a 70–79 and having five categories can show which students actually know the subject or need to work on it, whether over the average or under the average. Describing the "middle" of the data is that the central tendency by using the mean, median, or mode. The mean gives us the average, the median gives us which is the number in the middle of the set, while mode show us the most frequently occurring value in a data set. The box and whisker and histogram, it's better to use the median to describe the middle because since the mean is less than the median, that's why it's skewed because the high scores influence the direction of the graph. In this case, the median may be a better option to represent the typical grade on the test. To describe the overall ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 40. Failureure Mode And Effect Analysis: Failure Mode And... Abstract–Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) is a failure anticipation and risk assessment framework that alleviates potential failures in systems and is being used in many industries. The main goal of FMEA is to identify all failures and their modes in a system, assesses their effect and recommends corrective actions. It not only improves reliability and safety of complex systems but provides information for taking risk management actions. The conventional FMEA quantifies a risk associated with a failure by assigning Risk priority number (RPN). RPN is based on the product of occurrence (O), severity (S) and detection (D). This framework of quantifying risk has been criticized much in academia. Many advanced techniques are being used ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Risk is an uncertain, unreliable state or condition that, if it occurs, has an effect on project goals. Risk management is an indispensable part of successful project management. Risk management is the art and science of anticipating and planning for future uncertain events and the objective is to understand and mitigate or control risks. Failure mode effect analysis is a structured analysis technique which defines, identifies and rejects probable failures, disasters, and errors at component, subsystem and system levels [1]. The main motto behind FMEA is to identify the likely failure modes, establish a cause– effect relationship with the failure mode, and enumerate the accompanying risk. The analysis provides a tool to correct the most prominent failure modes that effect the system most.[1.1] FMEA is being used in a wide range of industries like automation ,aviation ,aerospace, electronics, nuclear, mechanical, and chemical industries. A failure mode is the fashion in which a component, subsystem, system, process, etc. could possibly fail to perform the intended function. A failure cause is a design weakness which leads to a failure. Each failure mode has an associated effect. A failure effect is the consequence of a failure mode on the function of the product or process as perceived by the customer. Conventional way of analyzing risk in FMEA is based on developing ... This cell relay protocol was designed by ATM forum and was universally adopted by ITU –T. Usually the size of the fixed cells is about 53 bytes with 5 bytes for header and 48 bytes payload. This is possible only if ATM is a Connection –Oriented system. 5.The major objective of ATM was to move most of the functionalities to the hardware side and have comparatively less functionalities in the software. Different Types And Modes Of Mode Selective Devices LP11 modes (LP11a+LP11b) and even all three modes (LP01+LP11a+LP11b)over few –mode fiber (FMF)The transmission system with mode multiplexing are a very crucial problem. The mode selective devices proposed in divided into two major categories: free–space based (FSB) and fiber based(FB).Free space components are bulky in size ex liquid–crystal–on–silicon (Lcos) spatial light modulator (SLM). But fiber based mode selective device have compact and easiness of integration. .Firstly proposed 107–Gb/s coherent optical OFDM (CO–OFDM) transmission over a 4.5–km two–mode fiber using LP01 and LP11 modes. Secondly proposed 58.8–Gb/s CO–OFDM transmission using dual modes where the mode separation is achieved via 4Г— 4 electronic MIMO processing [10].... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Transfer of energy from one ideal mode to another during propagation only due to mode coupling. It has been observed that practically strong couple modes having equal or nearly equal propagation constant but weakly coupled modes having a highly unequal propagation constant. The separation between two modes results in modal dispersion increasing capacity through mode division multiplexing (MDM). SMF ( single–mode fiber helps in the wave movement in two polarization conditions. Polarization–mode dispersion (PMD) and polarization–dependent loss (PDL) have long been described by field coupling models. It has been observed that strongly coupled modal group delay or gain depend only no. of modes and variance of accumulated delay or gain and can be derived from the eigenvalue distributions of certain random variables[12]. SDM (space division multiplexing) has been putforth by Savory. SDM is extremely challenging technology, of requiring developments in all areas of Photonics Technology. The optical communication systems are being upgraded every day .There is a rapid development taking place in this field at the global level in the space division multiplexing. Space Division Multiplexing (SDM) is conceptually simple, SDM is extremelychalleng technologically, requiring the development of new fibers, amplifiers, multiplexers, digital signal processing circuits, and other components. The multiplexing means the utilization of channel by the division of the space. It is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. Personal Reflection : My Personal Experience : Building... Over the course of the 5 weeks of experience that I have had, I have been able to see many of these terms come to life in the relationships that I am building with my individual resident, and with the large group of 20+ residents. I have seen many different interpersonal events and the value of and the skill that is takes to intentionally and skillfully use my personality and traits and modes with Residents in difficult situations. One thing I have found true for myself is that it is more difficult than it sounds to execute pure mode use. All my life I have encountered conflicts and been trained in how to deal with them, using many of the techniques encompassed in the modes, so it has become second nature to respond to conflicts the ways in which I have been trained. However, Taylor (2008) points out the importance of intentionally and skillfully choosing the modes that will best meet the client where they are and help them to be able to engage in their occupations, instead of responding using several approaches at once. However, I have found that as I have been met with interpersonal events, I respond naturally with aspects of both encouragement and instructing, as opposed to utilizing mode shift to intentionally shift modes when I sense that one is needed to best meet my client. While I feel that I have been able to accomplish a positive outcome in most of the interpersonal events that I faced, I was not practicing how to be an intentional and effective clinician by doing this. One such time, a Resident was feeling very discouraged about a new activity and reacted with agitation and anger (emotionally charged therapy session event), and I responded by giving encouragement, reassuring them, and telling them the things I have seen them do correctly, but at the same time also reminding them that the only way to get better at something is to keep trying, explaining the benefits of doing it, and demonstrating how to do it again in a different way. I used both encouraging responses and instructing responses, instead of simply choosing to use encouraging mode or instructing mode purely. Another time, a power dilemma occurred when my Resident and I were playing a simplified game of Go Fish and she began to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
