Teenagers Negative Influences
The Negative Influence of Celebrities
Public figures are famous for their actions and behaviors that are universal to the world. Just
because they have money and fame does not mean they should be role models. The title of role
model should be given to people who have a positive influence on the society. Children do not
actually sit or see their role models everyday like their best friends. That is why they should have
role models they can interface and have a real relationship with. Even though many celebrities do
plenty of charity to communities, they can still have unacceptable behaviors in society. Many
teenagers can be negatively influenced by their celebrity role models because actors and actresses
often make poor decisions or have false personas.
Celebrities are unfavorable role models because just as their noble and righteous decisions are
highlighted, their bad actions are broadcasted even more prominently. As a result, the society's
teenagers are easily influenced by their role models' poor decisions. Teenagers are influenced by the
actions of famous people more than their parents. As it is quoted, "No matter how many times a
child is told by her parents that certain behaviors are inappropriate, disrespectful or dangerous, the
double standard is still pervasive," (Hamlett). Teens adapt bad behaviors from their role models that
parents do not want their kids to incorporate into their daily lives; this can affect their mental health.
Parents see their children changing their actions to become like their role models which can
negatively affect the teen's relationship with their parents. In addition, "In fact, some teens are more
likely to listen to the words of their favorite celebrities than their own parents," (Theodosiou).
Teenagers will be more impacted by celebrities than by their parents because they believe that
mainstream public figures, which have heavy influence on the media that teenagers consume
everyday, are more knowledgeable. Blindly following celebrities' actions can very easily destroy a
teen's conscience because teens constantly attempt to imitate every aspect of celebrities' lives, which
are almost always unattainable; for instance, teens who try to copy the celebrities' diets might

The Negative Influence Of The Media And The Media
Now days, the media has a negative influence on society, it targets the people that have progressive–
liberal values and elaborates on situations. It seems as if everything you say is being held against
you, and blown out of proportion by the news. The media does not honor the right for people to
have freedom of speech. Everyone should be entitled to their opinion, and be treated equally. The
media focuses more on making a story or statement, rather than sharing the truth. Lately, there has
been a huge debate on gun violence and health insurance. Most liberals feel we should be entitled to
have both. Conservatives have different feelings and they are pushing more towards gun rights,
rather than having health insurance. Health insurance should be our primary concern, there are many
people living without insurance. Either Health insurance is too expensive or someone doesn't
qualify. I recently read an article called "Cub Scout kicked out after asking senator a tough gun
control question" written by Daniel Politi. The cub scout was ridiculed by asking a question and
voicing his opinion to the Senator. The scout stated; "There is something wrong in our country
where Republicans believe it's a right to own a gun but a privilege to have health care. None of that
makes sense to me," he said. Marble responds to the long question by emphasizing the need for
"crime control" and pointed out that several shootings took place in "gun free zones."– Slate.com.

Fatigue Produce Negative Influences
How fatigue produce negative influences "Have you ever considered about which season has a
higher risk of car accidents on the highway? Summer or winter?" I glanced to the right, kept my
hands stable on the wheel. "It must be Winter." Responded by my roommate without hesitation."The
slushy weather could make the highway slippery which is really dangerous." "Actually, accidents
happened more frequently in Summer because of fatigue driving, which made people drive under
the condition of lower attention and reaction." At this time, I can feel the confusion showed on my
roommate's face, yours as well. In fact, Summer always famous because of its high temperature and
sunshine. Summer will have a longer day length and a warmer weather than other seasons, which
could increase people's drowsiness. This phenomenon happens to the human body which called
fatigue that caused by irregular sleep, long time working, anxious, pressure, etc... could affect
drivers' attention and reactions in bad ways. As a result, this fatigue states ... Show more content on

As an international student, back home should be my most exciting moment of each year. However,
the time difference has always haunted me as a trouble and would cause many problems. The most

the lower appetite and easy to have a cold every first week. I thought this phenomenon was
endemic, but when the time I back to America I could have the same feeling which is fatigue. Under

large amount of exercise and lack of sleep will help toxins accumulated in our body. The toxins will

The Negative Influence Of Greek Civilization
The Greeks do experience some positive changes after the Persian War. One of these changes
includes how they view themselves as a civilization. They undoubtedly feel immense pride because
they beat the massive Persian empire. Greeks experience a newfound sense of unity and
togetherness. Unlike before, people consider the settlements on the Ionian coast to be truly Greek
and not simply distant relatives. Also, the Greeks are no longer separated by their city–states. They
all worked together to defeat a common enemy. In addition to the positive influences of the war, the
Greeks face some negative changes to their civilization. An issue that causes much strife within the
Greek people is the fear that the war created. Greeks feel that

In this, so called, 'utopia' of their own dreams, people temporary keep away from problems of
reality. Virtual Reality technology also does create a utopia to explore, however, in contrast to
imagination the other world is not invented in mind, but is truly there. June Deery, professor of
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy says 'whereas in fiction we imagine and empathize, in
cyberspace we are supposed to 'actually' step into the other world.' It seems the integration and
spreading of Virtual Reality realizes reveries and at first glance gives the impression that this is
leading to a number of advantages, such as comforts and eases. It would be a lie to deny this fact.
However at the same time the rapid progress of technology may lead to the fact that man will
transform the world into a place where he/she will suffer because of his/her own inventions.
Up to our days communication between people has already been technologically modernized and in
the future this tendency will probably continue. As Rheingold (1991) noticed: 'Used today in
architecture, engineering and design, tomorrow in mass–market entertainment, surrogate travel,
virtual surgery and cybersex, by the next century VR will have transformed our lives.' Today people
in different parts of the world are able to carry on a conversation by telephone or internet. In the
future, due to more sophisticated

Negative Influence Of City Kids
There are many reason why city kids are more at risk in committing a crime than kids who live in
the country. One of the reason is that the city environment contains many bad influences and
negative people who can easily ruin the innocence of a kid's life in the city. At a young age, kids are
more influenced by the things around them, especially in the city where many gangs, sexual
offenders, and violences lurk the city. Even at school where many kids from many different
background can easily put a kid a risk in doing something illegal. For an example, if a bad kid that
came from a violent family, he or she could influence other kids to be violent as well because many
young kids in that age often wants to fit into some things in society. Which

Negative Influences Of Disney Movies
Disney is known for its animated movies and adorable characters. For decades, Disney has
succeeded in producing thousands of movies that attract millions of viewers. Walt Disney Studios
produced many popular animated movies such as The Lion King, Bambi, The Little Mermaid,
Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Pocahontas, Peter Pan, Aladdin, Robin Hood, Hercules. Disney movies
are loved by people of all ages, from children to adults. Disney movies have always managed to
attract the viewers and that's what makes it special. In this modern era, almost every home has
access to cable TV. Parents will choose TV channel that provides programs for children for example
such as Disney Channel. Usually, the children have known Disney since childhood and used ...

According to what has been said by Thomas Mcphail in Electronic Colonialism Theory, that the
media can influence how we think and act, even controlling our minds. If a child is accustomed to
watching Disney movies since childhood, he will be affected and follow what he learned through
these movies. These movies will affect how he thinks, acts, and how he will run his own life.
Probably most people will not realize that Disney movies give unrealistic expectations about life. In
fact, some Disney movies really do. Some sources believe that Disney has indeed corrupted
children's minds. We could see some Disney princess movies for example. Disney princess fairy
tales such as Snow White, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, and Sleeping Beauty. Those movies
gave kids especially little girls false hope and unrealistic expectations of the future. Those movies
illustrates that beauty is the key to a happy life. As long as you have a beautiful face, there will be
no problems that would hinder your happiness. Those movies also give you an idea that all
princesses are skinny, have perfect hair and makeup and are always dressed to impress. Disney
princess fairy tales also shows that we have to be very beautiful to be able to find true love. Only

Hasbro's Negative Influence On Children
In the modern world of shootings, bombings, and drugs, much of our lives is influenced by the
terrors of the world we live in. We see it on the news, social media, entertainment, and everyday
discussion. Even in children's toys we see the influences of our world. Hasbro's Nerf "blasters" are
some of the most popular toys for a child to have, and almost every American child will have a
water gun at some point in their life. It may be time to find out if in this age where the violence of
guns and bombs is so real it is ok to mimic this savagery in a game. I believe that while imitating
acts of brutality may have negative effects on teenagers, it can have very positive influences as well.
"Killer, the last–man–standing game of water–pistol ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Students can develop important values and skills, like teamwork, strategies, and sportsmanship. The
teens had to work together with their group of four or less to be able to get all the "kills" on their hit
list. They also have to come up with innovative ideas to trick their peers into being able to be
"killed." Finally, they have to have sportsmanship in order to accept their "death". As the text
states,"Initially, each team of up to four students is given only the identities of its immediate prey.
All other players are anonymous, so that in the days leading up to the game the school becomes a
souk of intelligence–gathering and disinformation. In 2007, Jake Protell, a freshman, distinguished
himself by ferreting out the itinerary of a field trip that two targets were taking to Tel Aviv. Protell
took a car to Newark Airport, found the victims before they passed through security, and dispatched
them using two bathtub 'squirt fish.'" and,"At 10:30 p.m. on a Wednesday, three of the four seniors,
armed with Walgreens–issue water pistols, staked out Cohen's house in a blue Toyota minivan. The
idea was to use a cell phone to call the Cohens' landline, posing as Cohen's teammate Dominic,
using Dominic's caller I.D. The call had been engineered from a remote computer by a squad
member with prodigious hacking skills." This illustrates the level of strategery that is placed into the
game. The game players produce innovative ideas to trick their "prey" into being able to be targeted.
It also illustrates how team members rely on one another in order to complete the objectives of the
game. Teammates of Jake Protell had to trust that he would kill their two targets. The teammates of
the hacker had to ask him to get William Cohen in the proper position to get shot. This is important
because the skills of

Negative Influence Of Disney
In recent discussions regarding Disney's growing franchize, a controversial issue has been whether
Disney's stories and products encourage children to follow strict gender roles. In this regard, some
argue that Disney is wholesome and innocent, and only wants to make animated films that every
family has the opportunity to enjoy. On the other hand, however, others argue that Disney is a
corporation, whose ultimate goal is to spread their brand and make a lot of money. In the words of
Michael Eisner, CEO of the Walt Disney Co., "We have no obligation to make history. We have no
obligation to make art. We have no obligation to make a statement. To make money is our only
objective" (Mickey Mouse Monopoly). According to this view, Disney has ... Show more content on

Those images then begin to shape what we know and understand about the world, thus allowing the
media to influence us. This issue is important because Disney has become a primary educational
resource for children worldwide and as Henry Giroux points out, "Disney is a teaching machine that
not only exerts influence over consumers but also wages an aggressive campaign to peddle its
political and cultural influence in the United States and overseas" (Giroux xiv).
It is often said that Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is one of the most successful films
that Walt Disney Studios has produced. According to Business Insider, Snow White and the Seven
Dwarfs is the tenth highest grossing film of all time in the United States. As a child, I spent no time
considering the themes of gender roles and domestication of women in the film. However, while
growing up, the impression that women cook and clean while men go out to work continued to stay
with me. Though I concede that women are certainly a part of today's workforce, I still insist that in
the shadow of traditional gender roles, there is a slightly forced sense of acceptance when a father
mentions that he is a stay at home dad while his wife earns the family's income. It is this sense of
discomfort that is a direct product from the conservative ideals that Disney promotes in its films. For
example, in the Brothers Grimms' story of "Little Snow White," the dwarfs' cottage was clean when
Snow White first found

The Negative Influence Of Youth Representation In The Media
How are youth represented in the media and what is the possible impact on teenage audiences?
By Bilal Nasa
With the average Australian watching approximately 24 hours a week of TV and video alone, the
effects that the media may have on teenage viewers is a national issue. Media is the transfer of
information on numerous topics to a variety of audience, this can be done through Television, social
media, radio etc. Risk taking behavior of youth is commonly represented in the media as a positive
behavior, without underlining the possible negative outcomes of the actions. This could affect the
audience in numerous ways such as, creating a sense that risk taking behavior is needed to make a
make a point or gain interest. Unrealistic expectations of the outcomes of risk taking behavior may
also be an effect of teenage representation in the media. The positive representation of risk taking
behavior of youth may also influence youth to do actions, of which they are unaware of the possible

Negative Influence Of Rap Music
"Turn that off! I don't like the language in that song!" Music containing explicit lyrics is becoming
the new normal for teens these days. Genres of music such as rap and hip–hop have received
negative criticism about their music due to its lyrics talking about drugs, sex, violence and alcohol.
Along with that, hatred towards women, gays, lesbians, and minorities have also been exposed in
various songs. Little do these artists know that their music is affecting the youth in destructive ways.
Teens look at artists and idolize them for their "great" work.
Along with the explicit music, comes the explicit music videos. Many music videos in the rap and
hip–hop world contain graphic images of half naked women, drugs, and alcohol. The reason as to
why these things are put in artists' videos is because it attracts people to watch it and the views on
their videos go up. Parents have been fighting with the music industry because they feel as if there

Media Negative Influence
Do you ever feel like our media impacts the way you live? If it does, it probably has a negative
impact. The media in today's society has a bad influence on America's teenagers– especially girls. It
sends wrong messages to its adolescent viewers about today's society and culture. The media should
act as more of a positive influence towards America's teenage girls. The media has a strong
influence on how girls view themselves and their peers. The media– magazines, television shows,
music videos, billboards, etc– sends the message that the only way to look good and be happy is to
be skinny (Kirchheimer). Girls who have a healthy weight feel uncomfortable with how they look
and feel that they are not skinny enough to be accepted by society's standards. "...at age thirteen,
53% of American girls are 'unhappy with their bodies.' This grows up to 78% by the time girls reach
seventeen," says J.J. Brumberg. (qtd. in National Institute on Media and the Family). This statistic is
overwhelming; it is upsetting that young girls can not be comfortable in their own skin. According
to D. Hargreaves, many thin models have a weight that is mistaken as the best way to be beautiful
and causes young girls to have a low self esteem (qtd. in National Institute on Media and the
Family). In order to get to this "perfect" weight, many girls fall to eating disorders to attain their
desired weight. Unfortunately, this method of losing weight is unhealthy and extremely dangerous to
the human body. These different methods include "fasting, skipping meals, excessive exercise,
laxative abuse, and self–induced vomiting" (Media Awareness Network). The fact that girls go to
these extremes to get thin is scary and heartbreaking. This is why the media needs to send a more
positive message about body image to young girls. Alcohol plays a huge role in today's media.
Alcohol advertisements are everywhere from television and magazines to billboards and signs that
everyone, including children can see. According to the Center on Alcohol Marketing and Youth
(CAMY), "...90% of youth 12–20 saw on average more than 280 alcohol ads in 2002, 50% saw an
average of 507 ads, and the heaviest TV–watching 32% saw an average of 780 ads"(qtd. in

Technology's Negative Influence On American Culture
In general everything has its positive and negative sides, but has anyone thought how technology
could have a negative influence? With the new technology everyday that maks life simple, lets
people forget the negative side to it. Life is somewhat becoming easier and the world is getting
smaller, but everything has consequences. People being further apart, being on the phone for hours,
day after day people loses deep concentration. Technology will have negative influence on
American culture. In the past, when someone is in need of certain information usually spends time at
the library between the books to gather some information and that sometimes could take hours.
Today from home and with one click, all the information is easy access. Searching the web too
much and having easy access made people skim through the pages instead of the traditional kind of
reading. Nicholas Carr has mentioned in his article a study done by scholars saying, " They found

Persuasive Essay : The Dangers Of Phones In The Classroom
Picture this, you're in a classroom and your phone goes off which causes a distraction. Your teacher
takes it away, but with her taking it away how are you going to do your work on google classroom?
Plus there are no computers available. For example, a couple of weeks ago Mount Olive High
School had no laptops for inventory. So is a classroom a place that a phone should be welcomed in?
Or does it not belong in a classroom? The opportunity to have phones in class is great because they
are a useful tool. They provide easy access research, learning games/apps, calculators, agenda, and
etc. In case of an emergency, a student can reach out to grab their phone to call home or their
parents/guardian. The emergency could be them forgetting to bring in something important, asking
questions for their parents, and etc. Also, phones lets students to be organized with school work and
to stay on task. For example, they can used for marking down any important reminders so they can
get notifications, jot down notes for studying, and take pictures of documents in case they aren't
going to be in the next day. Another benefit that phones offers is to make students study more.
Lastly, the phones can avoid double standards. Yes not all students think the same way, but some
students do feel this way. Having to rights to use phones and teachers too everyone is satisfied, yet if
only a teacher uses theirs then some students can start to get envy, and think that the school is not
being fair with their rules. Once you hear the positive sides about phones in classrooms, you start to
think it´s a bright idea. Yes phones are a helpful usage in a classroom, but there are negative reasons
having phones in classroom. To begin with, students can be immature when they do have phones in
their possession. Jumping into the first reason, one of the biggest reason why phones are permitted is
cheating. Cheating on their work or test/quizzes, since they have the internet right at their fingertips.
The phones can cause a distraction to students, as the ringer goes off or a sound notification
everyone turns around to see who or what it was. Plus, when the teachers are giving lessons and the
students have no idea what was going on because they were

The Negative Influence Of Rap Music
"Sometimes I feel like rap music is almost the key to stopping racism." – Eminem. Rap music can
change not only our world but our character. When rap music was born, DJ Kool Herc is a
Jamaican–American who originated hip hop in the early 1970s in Bronx, New York. His music
brought people together to have a great time. Today, hip hop artists rap about inappropriate behavior,
violence, sex and drugs. Kids in today's time, were behaving with so much disrespect all because of
inappropriate rap. Why can't rap music be more non–violent? Rap music shouldn't involve with

people to make bad choices. To begin, rap music shouldn't involve with violence because it sends

Facebook Is A Negative Influence On Our Youth
Facebook is a negative influence on our youth because it takes away privacy, creates exposure to
circumstances or thought's above their age, and has an influence of negative socializing practices.
Our youth's minds are easily influenced and what they perceive becomes the norm for them
throughout their life, making it difficult to change that mindset later in life. Facebook is a non–
privacy site that allows anyone to be able to see a page and in many cases private aspects of life
posted to Facebook. Facebook has many ideas or thoughts that are not age appropriate posted all
over different pages that are easily accessible. Facebook also changes the socialization practices
from meeting and spending time together to a more unsociable version of sending instant messages.
Facebook is an open book to someone's life depicting personal information, such as addresses, ages,
interests, family relations, and full names along with pictures. To a child this breach of personal
information is catastrophic due to child predators that use this information to seduce a child into

The Negative Influence Of Social Media
DING! The sound of a smartphone going off can signal a variety of things: a text from a loved one,
a weather alert, an e–mail from a coworker, or perhaps an update from a social media site. Any of
these alerts or notifications may be important, but it is the update from social media that possibly
has the largest effect. When it comes to America, a great majority of the population is active on
social media; 65 percent of American adults use a social networking site (Perrin, 2015). When it
comes to teenagers, 73 percent of American teens are involved in the use of social media (Lenhart,
Purcell, Smith, & Zickhur, 2010). On a world–wide level, it has been estimated that there is a total
of 2 billion people, more than one fourth of the world's ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In a more personal sense, a person willing to share their experiences and ideas through social media
may find himself or herself restricted because of the judgements that may be passed. In order to
avoid these judgements, a user may change what they post to cater to the liking of their followers or
friends. With self–expression limited, the ability to display identity is also narrowed. Our ability to
express ideas through communication also applies to how we build and maintain relationships,
another facet of communication and identity that is threatened by the use of social media. A person's
identity through communication in the form of building relationships may also suffer because of
their use of social media. Many users become so focused on communicating and connecting through
the internet that they lose part of their real social life. Nicholas Kardaras (2016), a licensed
psychotherapist, writes in his Scientific American Mind article that "when you laugh or cry with
someone, when you go to a social event or have dinner together, when you experience life together,
there is a deepening of the social bond that cannot be replicated by social media." People that
become engrossed in social media can lose hold of the true values of these face–to–face experiences
and communication, something that holds high relevancy to our ability to

Negative Influence Of Huck Finn
Mark Twain's "Huck Finn"
"Huck Finn" story can be a debatable when it comes to history, and what the story is about. Some
argue that Mark Twain's abuse of using the "N" word triggers racism especially that this book was
written when slavery became illegal. As one student said, "It is estimated that the word nigger is
used 392 times which reinforces a negative stereotype of African Americans represented by the use
of this derogatory word" (Jackson). Some can still argue that this book can be a bad influence to the
youth as they might be using the "N" word as a racist rant. For some, it is very disturbing, upsetting,
and bringing back the past.

could've done the same thing to Huck. Both men, did what they think was right. Jim protected Huck
from seeing his dead father. He didn't let Huck see his father's dead body because he didn't want
Huck to get hurt. For example, when Huck wanted to talk about the dead man and wanted to know
how he was killed, but Jim didn't want him to know all that. "It would fetch bad luck; and besides,
he said, he might come and ha'nt us; he said a man that warn't buried was more likely to go a–

When Huck disguised himself a girl, he found out how much people really wanted to capture Jim.
Instead of telling these people Jim's locations, Huck did the right thing by letting Jim know that they
need to leave the place and move. "Git up and hump yourself, Jim! There ain't a minute to lose.

Mass Media and Its Influence Negative Influence on American Society
"It is the power that shapes and molds the mind of virtually every citizen, young or old, rich or poor,
simple or sophisticated" (Sweet Liberty, 2000, 1). The media is a part of everyday life in America.
News and events outside of one's home or neighborhood are brought to their area via the newspaper,
magazines, radio, television, and the internet. As the quote above mentions mass media, and its
components, are very powerful and are capable of influencing one's mind, as well as their behavior.

Children are easily swayed and influenced by the many images and pictures presented to them
through the media. By high school graduation, children will have spent roughly 50 percent more
time in front of a television than in front of a teacher (Dudley, 1999, 32). Parents, often times, are
too drained or pre–occupied with their own lives, leading their children to find comfort in watching
television or playing video games which, consequently, become the prime examples for their actions
and behaviors. "For all too many Americans, the real world has been replaced by the false reality of
the TV..." (Sweet Liberty, 2000, 2). These children hear the news and watch shows and films where
innocent people are being stolen from or being killed, but they have nobody there to teach them the
difference between what is real and what is not, what is right and what is wrong.
An article printed in Time magazine, titled Suburban Smackdown, is a great example of how the
media persuades children to impersonate what they view on television. The article concentrates on
the violence of wrestling and how some children and young adults are putting on shows, costumes,
masks and all, for their neighbors based on these wrestling characters they see on TV. "It may not be

Negative Influence Of Language On Memory
Memory is influenced by several factors, such as language, emotion, and attention. The current
essay will investigate how the use of language can influence recall for a past event. It will begin
with investigating the negative influence of language on memory through the formation of false
memories. This will involve exploring the Deese–Roediger–McDermott paradigm, the
misinformation effect by Loftus (1975), the fuzzy–trace theory (Reyna & Brainerd, 1995) and their
implications for eyewitness testimonies. This will be followed by the positive influence language
has on memory through the use of true presupposed information and the implications of this for an
educational setting.

There was a finding of 60 percent or more of participants falsely recalled the critical lure (window
and sleep). However they found large differences in the effectiveness; when the critical lure for a list
was 'king' the false recall by participants was only 10 percent. Therefore false recall is only induced
effectively for certain word lists, this variability is a limitation. Expand. Why there was a difference
from list to list. What this means for the theory.
The fuzzy–trace theory (Reyna & Brainerd, 1995) provides an explanation for the formation of false
memories. The fuzzy–trace theory outlines that there are two forms of mental representations stored
for a past event, verbatim and gist. Verbatim memories are more detailed, whereas gist memories are
less detailed and more of an overview of an event. In the Deese–Roediger–McDermott it is argued
that the false memory is due to the use of semantic gist–based memory. This error is adaptive in
some everyday situations because remembering the gist of an event is useful, whereas remembering
details of every event that occurs could be considered unnecessary and difficult (verbatim memory).
Often memory studies involve a list of words or sentences, which is practical because they are
simplistic and easily replicable. However many daily memories are complex and fast–moving
events so are not simulated through word lists. Therefore it is important to carry

Macbeth Negative Influences
Everyone is influenced by their surrounds, and the people they choose to be around, whether they
are being influenced in a positive or negative way, in Macbeth's case, he was highly negatively
impacted. Macbeth starts out as a good person, and good soldier, true to his king, that is, until he
meets the weird sisters who predict he himself will be king. With the influence of his wife, he
becomes treacherous, and no longer has a know between right and wrong. By the end of the story,
Macbeth was so caught up in his ambitious power hungry circle that he ended up getting killed by it,
after having just about everyone turn on him. The negative influences that affect Macbeth for the
worst throughout the story happen to be his wife, his conscience, and three weird sisters he meets
one day in a field; all of these influences change Macbeth for the worst, causing turmoil all
throughout the story. Lady Macbeth urged her husband to do some terrible things, but once it got
later in the story, Macbeth took control over his own actions on his downhill spiral of treachery.
When Macbeth told his wife that the King would be visiting their house, she responded with "... 0,
never Shall sun that morrow see!" (Doc B). Not only was this a questionable response, but she then
proceeded to force Macbeth to do the physical murder by telling him he was not a real man, and
once Macbeth had done the deed of killing Duncan, she told him "My hands are of your colour; but
I shame To wear a heart so white" (Doc C). Lady Macbeth soon becomes consumed with guilt, "
Whenever, then, we find that the memory of a criminal act, however successful and enduring in its
issues it may have been, awakens a repentance and moral detestation so consuming that for no
single instant is it absent from the mind of the criminal, and that self–abhorrence leads to insanity
and suicide..."(von Rumelin). Lady Macbeth was the person who pushed Macbeth off the edge
causing him to turn to even more tyranny, send him on a killing spree, become full of ambition, and
way too power hungry. Not only did lady Macbeth urge her husband to start his terrible journey by
killing the king, later she was too overwhelmed with all the guilt knowing she was the cause of

¨Hexagonal clouds could be the main reason for the disappearances. They are naturally occurring air
bombs of on average, 170 mile per hour winds,¨ (Ratner). The formation of these clouds are not
uncommon within the surrounding areas so it is a likely chance that air bombs with a much higher
speed are developing throughout the ¨triangle¨ zone. Another naturally developing force of nature
are underwater canyons. ¨The Bermuda Triangle has underwater canyons with some measuring an
estimated 5.5 miles in depth,¨ (Levette 44). There is a possibility that when these planes and ships
vanish without even leaving behind a trace of oil, that they are literally just completely sinking
down into these canyons where they can no longer be swept along with the tide. This would prove
the reason for which no remains ever wash up onto land. The final geographical theory in which is
going to be stated, is the development of methane bubbles. ¨Methane is created by the decomposing

gas. ¨The gas is highly combustible, an eruption can cause planes to sink like rocks and planes
flying above it to catch fire and completely get destroyed,¨ (Duffield 21). The development of these
theories are still highly controversial and lacking of scientific support. With the understanding of

The Negative Effects Of Social Influence On Identity...
Social influence is present in all areas of human lives. Society influences people's perceptions,
attitudes, judgments, opinions or behaviors. That is why every individual modifies their action based
on the interaction they have with their environment. This influence is due to the relationship with
people, groups, institutions and with society in general. The environment has a bad influence on
identity development because people tend to follow what the others say and assimilate of
themselves. Society influences people negatively because it is mostly focused on the betterment of
yourself and not on people as a community. Also, family have a negative impact on the personality
of the household members because family have the biggest role in the lives of individuals. The
relationships between the members of the household, determine the values, affections, and attitudes
of the children who want to assimilate it. Therefore, the family is the most central influence in the
lives of people. In Welty Eudora, "Why I live at the P.O." family environment has a decisive
influence on the members of the household personality. Sister and Stella are two sisters who are

The Negative Influence Of The Teenage Mind
"The woman who follows the crowd will usually go no further than the crowd. The woman who

result of people who aren't independent is more negative than positive. The articles including "Herd

Researchers Say", and "Why Do People Follow the Crowd" all show evidence towards How people
are influenced. Following the crowd is one of the main results of influence people have on others.

The author says that it is more apparent in times of danger or panic. "People in a crisis that requires
escape will attempt to move faster than normal, copy the actions of others, interact physically with
each other, and ignore alternative strategies in favor of following the mass escape trend." The results
of this panic induced herd behavior can be very negative. "Psychologists posit that a "group mind"
can overtake a mob and embolden people to act in ways they would not individually, increasing the
likelihood that situations become violent." Herd Behavior has been going on for so long, that most
people don't even realize it is happening. The violence is a good reasoning behind the influence seen
with peer pressure. People are pressured, or influenced, by others to do good or bad things. This is
seen in teens most of all. Teenagers are more active when it comes to trends. Wanting to be caught
up with the norm is an example of Herd Behavior. Everyone starts wearing a certain kind of
accessory and that sets up for anyone else to follow the crowd. The instinct to follow the crowd is
understood when looking at the high rates of negative peer pressure in the teenage years. Teenagers
are more likely to conform. Furthermore, People succumb to the roles of society that have been laid
out over time instead of going against it or being independent. In the article "The Stanford Prison
Experiment", An elaborate experiment was setup to study

decades, television has been thought to desensitize and have detrimental effects on our children,
which inhibits them from developing feelings of security, compassion, diplomacy, and discernment.
Television watching also promotes violence, unsafe sexual practices, and eating disorders in
children.
According to Muscari, the average American child spends approximately 28 hours per week

'freedom' at the expense of our children.
Television continues to use the marketability of sex sells. Programming aimed at teen audiences,
such as Charmed, The War at Home, and Girlfriends are loaded with sexual content. There are
scenes that include anything from bed swapping, to bathroom stall coupling, to talk of masturbation.
It is also not just teens that are watching these shows. Adult shows, where sexual content is

The Negative Influences Of Procrastination
Negative Influences of Procrastination We've all had a paper due on a Wednesday that we had
known about for the past two weeks, but for some unknown and involuntary reason, we choose to
save it for a Tuesday evening, which turns into a Wednesday morning as we frantically work to
finish an assignment we probably could have finished in class over a couple of days. We may have
been preoccupied those couple of weeks, with a job, or sports; maybe even putting together a
fundraiser of some sort. Or maybe, we haven't been busy at all, and have chosen to go home after
class and eat rice– cakes and watch Netflix all afternoon, into the evening, and continuously tell
ourselves "I'll get it done tomorrow." Many of us have a habit of making nearly every important
task, (whether it be homework, paying a bill, making a phone call, or even booking a trip) an "oh,
I'll do that tomorrow" type of job. What most of us realize, but choose to ignore, is that continuously
putting of these duties of ours will not only have negative consequences on the result of the job that
needs to be done, but on our mental physical and mental health as well. People may have excuses
for leaving things to the last minute, but the hard truth that they need to accept is that they are a
habitual procrastinator. It is imperative that we understand that procrastination will (eventually, if
not immediately) have effects on our lives, from downward spirals in our happiness and personal
satisfaction, to destroying our

she gives off a negative influence on young girls. I conclude that barbie is a negative influence
because of the way she dresses, I say that due to the fact she wears skirts, shirts that show cleavage
and her body type is skinny. Mattel states in the copyrighted version of the Barbie sticker album that
"the shape of the doll, its clothes and the focus on dating activities presents sexual attractiveness as a
key to popularity." This evidence brings me to my conclusion that barbie is in fact a negative
influence because she is presenting young girls with sexual images and leaving them with the
impression that they can do, wear whatever they want and think they are better than everyone else.
For example, Kim Kardashian acts the way she does because she had barbie as young girl. Growing
up as a kid I watched a bunch of cartoons but the one show that affected me the most was Scooby

Negative Influences On Youth Sports
Youth sports have become a cornerstone of today's American society. Most children have or will
participate in some sort of organized sport, whether it be through a local organization or through a
national organization like the YMCA. The question being posed today is if these organizations
should award every child with a trophy or medal for their participation, or if they should reserve
these awards for those who won the most. If you praise and reward a child for just showing up, then
it will hurt them later in life. There are two kinds of youth sports parents. There are the parents who
admittedly say that it's not about winning or losing but about having fun. Then there are the parents
who care only about the score of the game, and if their kid gets playtime. (Weller 1). The parents
who say it's just about having fun, and think that everyone deserves a trophy are potentially hurting
their kids' development. new studies from The Ohio State University and Utrecht University in the
Netherlands advises against participation awards. "They suggest that parents often dole out inflated
price to the children most likely to be hurt by it. "If you tell a child with low self–esteem that they
did incredibly well, they may think they always need to do incredibly well," said Eddie

Death Is The Worst Thing
There is one thing in this world that no one can escape, that everyone fears, and makes people who

with the death of a loved one or someone close. That blankness in the world does something to the
people who encompass that person who passed. It changes people, whether it is for better or worse.
Death is a part of life and depending on how people are affected can dictate whether it will leave a
positive or negative change to their life and that conversion happened to me with the death of my
mother, Fran. I can recall the day it happened, like it was yesterday, the air had a certain emptiness

Negative Influences Of Fashion
Teenagers are exposed to numerous different pressures of having perfect bodies, and attractive faces.
Whether they get the advice from magazines, television, or the internet, many girls and boys want to
achieve society's idea of exquisiteness and "perfection." Since these outlooks are huge supporters to
the adolescents' low self–esteems, these are the prime reasons for the high numbers of cases and
operations done.
To begin, magazines are a huge factor towards the youth's views for beauty and trends. Many
fashion companies and brands use teenagers for targeting advertising, since they are the next
generation, or the future of fashion. However, the companies only place specific looks, and models
expose the next generations to their "ideals of beauty". The fashion world has evolved greatly

media is one of the things that impact people the most because in today's society it is impossible to

A teenager's main source of information about sex comes from what they pick up in the media. In
television shows, music videos and video games, dressing skimpy, hooking up, and casual sex is
totally normal. The problem is that there is rarely any mention of protection or STDs. This makes
people in real life forget about those things, which leads to unexpected pregnancies and the spread
of STDs. After the media demands you to be thin, it also wants you to be provocative and sexual,
which I think is completely unrealistic. The media expresses an image, behavior, and lifestyle that
are unrealistic for many people. ANAD says that the perfect body portrayed in advertisements is

Negative Influence Of Cellphones
Cellphones are the key to companies advertisements. It is very difficult to find a teenager who does
not have a smart phone. There are so many different things that cellphones are used for such as
shopping, social media, and schoolwork. More often than not companies can track the things a
person searches and continue to bring those things up in the feed of social media. You can tell
everything about a person by what they have on their phone. The two kinds of ads out there are the
ones that describe you and that have no effect on you. Issues come about extremely often because of
the persistence of the companies and their advertisements. Throughout school I have seen many

To begin, we have spent every year ever since 6th grade with the same 100 people and some even
longer then that. With spending that much time with the same people you get to know them quite

Positive And Negative Influence Of Globalization
Google: The Impact and Positive and Negative Influence of Globalization
According to the famous economist and philosopher Adam Smith, Christopher Columbus's
discovery of the Americas in the search of spice was one of the most important events that led to the
'globalization big bang' (O'Rourke & Williamson, 2000). The discovery led to a more interacted and
integrated world through trade, cultural infusion, colonization, and the exchange of ideas and goods
not only in the 1400s but also in the world today. Globalization played a huge role in forming the
world today. It demonstrated its power through both positive and negative impacts on the society,
culture, economy, politics, environment, and lastly, religion. The success of the transnational
corporation, Google, was one of many evidences that revealed the influence of globalization. Ever
since Google was founded in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin, it grew exponentially over the
last 19 years. Today, Google employed more than 60,000 workers in 50 different nations and
influenced the lives of billions of people across the globe. The company launched hundreds of
products from Google Search and Chrome to Google Home (Google, n.d.). So, how does Google
relate to globalization? As a transnational corporation, Google demonstrated the importance and
positive and negative influence of globalization through labor, global governance, and trade.
Started in a garage in 1998, Google caught the attention of many members of the community as well
as the investors in the Silicon Valley. It received its first $100,000 investment from the Sun co–
founder Andy Bechtolsheim. From there, Google expanded rapidly. It hired more workers such as
engineers, people in the sales team, and introduced the first company dog, Yoshka. They eventually
received $25 million of venture capital. Shortly after, they moved their headquarters ("The
Googleplex") to Mountain View, California (Google, n.d.). In 2000, Google released 10 different
language versions of Google.com using French, German, Italian, Spanish, Swedish, Finnish,
Portuguese, Dutch, Norwegian and Danish. In 2004, Google registered for Initial Public Offering
(IPO) at $85 per share with 19,605,052 shares. Its innovative products,

Teenagers Negative Influences

  • 1. Teenagers Negative Influences The Negative Influence of Celebrities Public figures are famous for their actions and behaviors that are universal to the world. Just because they have money and fame does not mean they should be role models. The title of role model should be given to people who have a positive influence on the society. Children do not actually sit or see their role models everyday like their best friends. That is why they should have role models they can interface and have a real relationship with. Even though many celebrities do plenty of charity to communities, they can still have unacceptable behaviors in society. Many teenagers can be negatively influenced by their celebrity role models because actors and actresses often make poor decisions or have false personas. Celebrities are unfavorable role models because just as their noble and righteous decisions are highlighted, their bad actions are broadcasted even more prominently. As a result, the society's teenagers are easily influenced by their role models' poor decisions. Teenagers are influenced by the actions of famous people more than their parents. As it is quoted, "No matter how many times a child is told by her parents that certain behaviors are inappropriate, disrespectful or dangerous, the double standard is still pervasive," (Hamlett). Teens adapt bad behaviors from their role models that parents do not want their kids to incorporate into their daily lives; this can affect their mental health. Parents see their children changing their actions to become like their role models which can negatively affect the teen's relationship with their parents. In addition, "In fact, some teens are more likely to listen to the words of their favorite celebrities than their own parents," (Theodosiou). Teenagers will be more impacted by celebrities than by their parents because they believe that mainstream public figures, which have heavy influence on the media that teenagers consume everyday, are more knowledgeable. Blindly following celebrities' actions can very easily destroy a teen's conscience because teens constantly attempt to imitate every aspect of celebrities' lives, which are almost always unattainable; for instance, teens who try to copy the celebrities' diets might ... • 3. The Negative Influence Of The Media And The Media Now days, the media has a negative influence on society, it targets the people that have progressive– liberal values and elaborates on situations. It seems as if everything you say is being held against you, and blown out of proportion by the news. The media does not honor the right for people to have freedom of speech. Everyone should be entitled to their opinion, and be treated equally. The media focuses more on making a story or statement, rather than sharing the truth. Lately, there has been a huge debate on gun violence and health insurance. Most liberals feel we should be entitled to have both. Conservatives have different feelings and they are pushing more towards gun rights, rather than having health insurance. Health insurance should be our primary concern, there are many people living without insurance. Either Health insurance is too expensive or someone doesn't qualify. I recently read an article called "Cub Scout kicked out after asking senator a tough gun control question" written by Daniel Politi. The cub scout was ridiculed by asking a question and voicing his opinion to the Senator. The scout stated; "There is something wrong in our country where Republicans believe it's a right to own a gun but a privilege to have health care. None of that makes sense to me," he said. Marble responds to the long question by emphasizing the need for "crime control" and pointed out that several shootings took place in "gun free zones."– Slate.com. The scout made a good point ... I glanced to the right, kept my hands stable on the wheel. "It must be Winter." Responded by my roommate without hesitation."The slushy weather could make the highway slippery which is really dangerous." "Actually, accidents happened more frequently in Summer because of fatigue driving, which made people drive under the condition of lower attention and reaction." At this time, I can feel the confusion showed on my roommate's face, yours as well. In fact, Summer always famous because of its high temperature and sunshine. Summer will have a longer day length and a warmer weather than other seasons, which could increase people's drowsiness. They undoubtedly feel immense pride because they beat the massive Persian empire. Greeks experience a newfound sense of unity and togetherness. Unlike before, people consider the settlements on the Ionian coast to be truly Greek and not simply distant relatives. Also, the Greeks are no longer separated by their city–states. They all worked together to defeat a common enemy. In addition to the positive influences of the war, the Greeks face some negative changes to their civilization. In this, so called, 'utopia' of their own dreams, people temporary keep away from problems of reality. Virtual Reality technology also does create a utopia to explore, however, in contrast to imagination the other world is not invented in mind, but is truly there. June Deery, professor of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy says 'whereas in fiction we imagine and empathize, in cyberspace we are supposed to 'actually' step into the other world.' It seems the integration and spreading of Virtual Reality realizes reveries and at first glance gives the impression that this is leading to a number of advantages, such as comforts and eases. It would be a lie to deny this fact. However at the same time the rapid progress of technology may lead to the fact that man will transform the world into a place where he/she will suffer because of his/her own inventions. Up to our days communication between people has already been technologically modernized and in the future this tendency will probably continue. As Rheingold (1991) noticed: 'Used today in architecture, engineering and design, tomorrow in mass–market entertainment, surrogate travel, virtual surgery and cybersex, by the next century VR will have transformed our lives.' Today people in different parts of the world are able to carry on a conversation by telephone or internet. In the future, due to more sophisticated ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Negative Influence Of City Kids There are many reason why city kids are more at risk in committing a crime than kids who live in the country. One of the reason is that the city environment contains many bad influences and negative people who can easily ruin the innocence of a kid's life in the city. At a young age, kids are more influenced by the things around them, especially in the city where many gangs, sexual offenders, and violences lurk the city. Even at school where many kids from many different background can easily put a kid a risk in doing something illegal. For an example, if a bad kid that came from a violent family, he or she could influence other kids to be violent as well because many young kids in that age often wants to fit into some things in society. For decades, Disney has succeeded in producing thousands of movies that attract millions of viewers. Walt Disney Studios produced many popular animated movies such as The Lion King, Bambi, The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Pocahontas, Peter Pan, Aladdin, Robin Hood, Hercules. Disney movies are loved by people of all ages, from children to adults. Disney movies have always managed to attract the viewers and that's what makes it special. According to what has been said by Thomas Mcphail in Electronic Colonialism Theory, that the media can influence how we think and act, even controlling our minds. If a child is accustomed to watching Disney movies since childhood, he will be affected and follow what he learned through these movies. These movies will affect how he thinks, acts, and how he will run his own life. Probably most people will not realize that Disney movies give unrealistic expectations about life. In fact, some Disney movies really do. Some sources believe that Disney has indeed corrupted children's minds. We could see some Disney princess movies for example. Disney princess fairy tales such as Snow White, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, and Sleeping Beauty. Those movies gave kids especially little girls false hope and unrealistic expectations of the future. Those movies illustrates that beauty is the key to a happy life. As long as you have a beautiful face, there will be no problems that would hinder your happiness. • 15. Hasbro's Negative Influence On Children In the modern world of shootings, bombings, and drugs, much of our lives is influenced by the terrors of the world we live in. We see it on the news, social media, entertainment, and everyday discussion. Even in children's toys we see the influences of our world. Hasbro's Nerf "blasters" are some of the most popular toys for a child to have, and almost every American child will have a water gun at some point in their life. It may be time to find out if in this age where the violence of guns and bombs is so real it is ok to mimic this savagery in a game. I believe that while imitating acts of brutality may have negative effects on teenagers, it can have very positive influences as well. "Killer, the last–man–standing game of water–pistol ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Students can develop important values and skills, like teamwork, strategies, and sportsmanship. The teens had to work together with their group of four or less to be able to get all the "kills" on their hit list. They also have to come up with innovative ideas to trick their peers into being able to be "killed." Finally, they have to have sportsmanship in order to accept their "death". As the text states,"Initially, each team of up to four students is given only the identities of its immediate prey. All other players are anonymous, so that in the days leading up to the game the school becomes a souk of intelligence–gathering and disinformation. In 2007, Jake Protell, a freshman, distinguished himself by ferreting out the itinerary of a field trip that two targets were taking to Tel Aviv. Protell took a car to Newark Airport, found the victims before they passed through security, and dispatched them using two bathtub 'squirt fish.'" and,"At 10:30 p.m. on a Wednesday, three of the four seniors, armed with Walgreens–issue water pistols, staked out Cohen's house in a blue Toyota minivan. The idea was to use a cell phone to call the Cohens' landline, posing as Cohen's teammate Dominic, using Dominic's caller I.D. The call had been engineered from a remote computer by a squad member with prodigious hacking skills." This illustrates the level of strategery that is placed into the game. The game players produce innovative ideas to trick their "prey" into being able to be targeted. It also illustrates how team members rely on one another in order to complete the objectives of the game. Teammates of Jake Protell had to trust that he would kill their two targets. The teammates of the hacker had to ask him to get William Cohen in the proper position to get shot. This is important because the skills of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. Negative Influence Of Disney In recent discussions regarding Disney's growing franchize, a controversial issue has been whether Disney's stories and products encourage children to follow strict gender roles. In this regard, some argue that Disney is wholesome and innocent, and only wants to make animated films that every family has the opportunity to enjoy. On the other hand, however, others argue that Disney is a corporation, whose ultimate goal is to spread their brand and make a lot of money. In the words of Michael Eisner, CEO of the Walt Disney Co., "We have no obligation to make history. We have no obligation to make art. We have no obligation to make a statement. To make money is our only objective" (Mickey Mouse Monopoly). According to this view, Disney has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Those images then begin to shape what we know and understand about the world, thus allowing the media to influence us. This issue is important because Disney has become a primary educational resource for children worldwide and as Henry Giroux points out, "Disney is a teaching machine that not only exerts influence over consumers but also wages an aggressive campaign to peddle its political and cultural influence in the United States and overseas" (Giroux xiv). It is often said that Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is one of the most successful films that Walt Disney Studios has produced. According to Business Insider, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is the tenth highest grossing film of all time in the United States. As a child, I spent no time considering the themes of gender roles and domestication of women in the film. However, while growing up, the impression that women cook and clean while men go out to work continued to stay with me. Though I concede that women are certainly a part of today's workforce, I still insist that in the shadow of traditional gender roles, there is a slightly forced sense of acceptance when a father mentions that he is a stay at home dad while his wife earns the family's income. It is this sense of discomfort that is a direct product from the conservative ideals that Disney promotes in its films. For example, in the Brothers Grimms' story of "Little Snow White," the dwarfs' cottage was clean when Snow White first found ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

By Bilal Nasa With the average Australian watching approximately 24 hours a week of TV and video alone, the effects that the media may have on teenage viewers is a national issue. Media is the transfer of information on numerous topics to a variety of audience, this can be done through Television, social media, radio etc. Risk taking behavior of youth is commonly represented in the media as a positive behavior, without underlining the possible negative outcomes of the actions. This could affect the audience in numerous ways such as, creating a sense that risk taking behavior is needed to make a make a point or gain interest. Unrealistic expectations of the outcomes of risk taking behavior may also be an effect of teenage representation in the media. • 25. Negative Influence Of Rap Music "Turn that off! I don't like the language in that song!" Music containing explicit lyrics is becoming the new normal for teens these days. Genres of music such as rap and hip–hop have received negative criticism about their music due to its lyrics talking about drugs, sex, violence and alcohol. Along with that, hatred towards women, gays, lesbians, and minorities have also been exposed in various songs. Little do these artists know that their music is affecting the youth in destructive ways. Teens look at artists and idolize them for their "great" work. Along with the explicit music, comes the explicit music videos. Many music videos in the rap and hip–hop world contain graphic images of half naked women, drugs, and alcohol. The reason as to why these things are put in artists' videos is because it attracts people to watch it and the views on their videos go up. • 27. Media Negative Influence Do you ever feel like our media impacts the way you live? If it does, it probably has a negative impact. The media in today's society has a bad influence on America's teenagers– especially girls. It sends wrong messages to its adolescent viewers about today's society and culture. The media should act as more of a positive influence towards America's teenage girls. The media has a strong influence on how girls view themselves and their peers. The media– magazines, television shows, music videos, billboards, etc– sends the message that the only way to look good and be happy is to be skinny (Kirchheimer). Girls who have a healthy weight feel uncomfortable with how they look and feel that they are not skinny enough to be accepted by society's standards. "...at age thirteen, 53% of American girls are 'unhappy with their bodies.' This grows up to 78% by the time girls reach seventeen," says J.J. Brumberg. (qtd. in National Institute on Media and the Family). This statistic is overwhelming; it is upsetting that young girls can not be comfortable in their own skin. According to D. Hargreaves, many thin models have a weight that is mistaken as the best way to be beautiful and causes young girls to have a low self esteem (qtd. in National Institute on Media and the Family). In order to get to this "perfect" weight, many girls fall to eating disorders to attain their desired weight. Unfortunately, this method of losing weight is unhealthy and extremely dangerous to the human body. These different methods include "fasting, skipping meals, excessive exercise, laxative abuse, and self–induced vomiting" (Media Awareness Network). The fact that girls go to these extremes to get thin is scary and heartbreaking. This is why the media needs to send a more positive message about body image to young girls. Alcohol plays a huge role in today's media. Alcohol advertisements are everywhere from television and magazines to billboards and signs that everyone, including children can see. According to the Center on Alcohol Marketing and Youth (CAMY), "...90% of youth 12–20 saw on average more than 280 alcohol ads in 2002, 50% saw an average of 507 ads, and the heaviest TV–watching 32% saw an average of 780 ads"(qtd. in ... People being further apart, being on the phone for hours, day after day people loses deep concentration. Technology will have negative influence on American culture. In the past, when someone is in need of certain information usually spends time at the library between the books to gather some information and that sometimes could take hours. Today from home and with one click, all the information is easy access. Searching the web too much and having easy access made people skim through the pages instead of the traditional kind of reading. • 31. Persuasive Essay : The Dangers Of Phones In The Classroom Picture this, you're in a classroom and your phone goes off which causes a distraction. Your teacher takes it away, but with her taking it away how are you going to do your work on google classroom? Plus there are no computers available. For example, a couple of weeks ago Mount Olive High School had no laptops for inventory. So is a classroom a place that a phone should be welcomed in? Or does it not belong in a classroom? The opportunity to have phones in class is great because they are a useful tool. They provide easy access research, learning games/apps, calculators, agenda, and etc. In case of an emergency, a student can reach out to grab their phone to call home or their parents/guardian. The emergency could be them forgetting to bring in something important, asking questions for their parents, and etc. Also, phones lets students to be organized with school work and to stay on task. For example, they can used for marking down any important reminders so they can get notifications, jot down notes for studying, and take pictures of documents in case they aren't going to be in the next day. Another benefit that phones offers is to make students study more. Lastly, the phones can avoid double standards. Yes not all students think the same way, but some students do feel this way. Having to rights to use phones and teachers too everyone is satisfied, yet if only a teacher uses theirs then some students can start to get envy, and think that the school is not being fair with their rules. Once you hear the positive sides about phones in classrooms, you start to think it´s a bright idea. Yes phones are a helpful usage in a classroom, but there are negative reasons having phones in classroom. To begin with, students can be immature when they do have phones in their possession. Jumping into the first reason, one of the biggest reason why phones are permitted is cheating. Cheating on their work or test/quizzes, since they have the internet right at their fingertips. Facebook Is A Negative Influence On Our Youth Facebook is a negative influence on our youth because it takes away privacy, creates exposure to circumstances or thought's above their age, and has an influence of negative socializing practices. Our youth's minds are easily influenced and what they perceive becomes the norm for them throughout their life, making it difficult to change that mindset later in life. Facebook is a non– privacy site that allows anyone to be able to see a page and in many cases private aspects of life posted to Facebook. Children are easily swayed and influenced by the many images and pictures presented to them through the media. By high school graduation, children will have spent roughly 50 percent more time in front of a television than in front of a teacher (Dudley, 1999, 32). Parents, often times, are too drained or pre–occupied with their own lives, leading their children to find comfort in watching television or playing video games which, consequently, become the prime examples for their actions and behaviors. "For all too many Americans, the real world has been replaced by the false reality of the TV..." (Sweet Liberty, 2000, 2). It will begin with investigating the negative influence of language on memory through the formation of false memories. Therefore false recall is only induced effectively for certain word lists, this variability is a limitation. Expand. Why there was a difference from list to list. What this means for the theory. The fuzzy–trace theory (Reyna & Brainerd, 1995) provides an explanation for the formation of false memories. The fuzzy–trace theory outlines that there are two forms of mental representations stored for a past event, verbatim and gist. Verbatim memories are more detailed, whereas gist memories are less detailed and more of an overview of an event. In the Deese–Roediger–McDermott it is argued that the false memory is due to the use of semantic gist–based memory. This error is adaptive in some everyday situations because remembering the gist of an event is useful, whereas remembering details of every event that occurs could be considered unnecessary and difficult (verbatim memory). Often memory studies involve a list of words or sentences, which is practical because they are simplistic and easily replicable. However many daily memories are complex and fast–moving events so are not simulated through word lists. Therefore it is important to carry ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Macbeth Negative Influences Everyone is influenced by their surrounds, and the people they choose to be around, whether they are being influenced in a positive or negative way, in Macbeth's case, he was highly negatively impacted. Macbeth starts out as a good person, and good soldier, true to his king, that is, until he meets the weird sisters who predict he himself will be king. With the influence of his wife, he becomes treacherous, and no longer has a know between right and wrong. By the end of the story, Macbeth was so caught up in his ambitious power hungry circle that he ended up getting killed by it, after having just about everyone turn on him. The negative influences that affect Macbeth for the worst throughout the story happen to be his wife, his conscience, and three weird sisters he meets one day in a field; all of these influences change Macbeth for the worst, causing turmoil all throughout the story. Lady Macbeth urged her husband to do some terrible things, but once it got later in the story, Macbeth took control over his own actions on his downhill spiral of treachery. When Macbeth told his wife that the King would be visiting their house, she responded with "... 0, never Shall sun that morrow see!" (Doc B). Not only was this a questionable response, but she then proceeded to force Macbeth to do the physical murder by telling him he was not a real man, and once Macbeth had done the deed of killing Duncan, she told him "My hands are of your colour; but I shame To wear a heart so white" (Doc C). Lady Macbeth soon becomes consumed with guilt, " Whenever, then, we find that the memory of a criminal act, however successful and enduring in its issues it may have been, awakens a repentance and moral detestation so consuming that for no single instant is it absent from the mind of the criminal, and that self–abhorrence leads to insanity and suicide..."(von Rumelin). Lady Macbeth was the person who pushed Macbeth off the edge causing him to turn to even more tyranny, send him on a killing spree, become full of ambition, and way too power hungry. Society influences people's perceptions, attitudes, judgments, opinions or behaviors. That is why every individual modifies their action based on the interaction they have with their environment. • 59. The Negative Influence Of The Teenage Mind "The woman who follows the crowd will usually go no further than the crowd. The woman who walks alone is likely to find herself in places no one has ever been before." (Albert Einstein). The result of people who aren't independent is more negative than positive. The articles including "Herd Behavior", "The Stanford Prison Experiment", "Teenage Brains are Malleable and Vulnerable Researchers Say", and "Why Do People Follow the Crowd" all show evidence towards How people are influenced. Following the crowd is one of the main results of influence people have on others. Influence naturally developed in the human brain is based on the natural inclination to follow the group as seen in teenagers. The most apparent example of the human mind being ... "People in a crisis that requires escape will attempt to move faster than normal, copy the actions of others, interact physically with each other, and ignore alternative strategies in favor of following the mass escape trend." The results of this panic induced herd behavior can be very negative. "Psychologists posit that a "group mind" can overtake a mob and embolden people to act in ways they would not individually, increasing the likelihood that situations become violent." Herd Behavior has been going on for so long, that most people don't even realize it is happening. The violence is a good reasoning behind the influence seen with peer pressure. People are pressured, or influenced, by others to do good or bad things. This is seen in teens most of all. Teenagers are more active when it comes to trends. Wanting to be caught up with the norm is an example of Herd Behavior. Everyone starts wearing a certain kind of accessory and that sets up for anyone else to follow the crowd. The instinct to follow the crowd is understood when looking at the high rates of negative peer pressure in the teenage years. Teenagers are more likely to conform. Furthermore, People succumb to the roles of society that have been laid out over time instead of going against it or being independent. • 61. The Negative Influence of Television on Children For decades there has been debate as to how television media affects our children. Many parents have been concerned since the beginning of television. Through extensive research over the last few decades, television has been thought to desensitize and have detrimental effects on our children, which inhibits them from developing feelings of security, compassion, diplomacy, and discernment. Television watching also promotes violence, unsafe sexual practices, and eating disorders in children. According to Muscari, the average American child spends approximately 28 hours per week watching television. By the time a child reaches the age of 18 they will have seen 16,000 murders and 200,000 other acts of violence. American media is the most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is when paid cable channels became available, bringing rated X movies to the home, as well as Fox Broadcasting "targeting a younger audience with raunchy shows like Married ... with Children" (Steyer 45–46). Over time regulations have change, with each new inception, allowing more 'freedom' at the expense of our children. Television continues to use the marketability of sex sells. Programming aimed at teen audiences, such as Charmed, The War at Home, and Girlfriends are loaded with sexual content. There are scenes that include anything from bed swapping, to bathroom stall coupling, to talk of masturbation. It is also not just teens that are watching these shows. Adult shows, where sexual content is skyrocketing, makes up 70 percent of most children over the age of ten's television (Steyer 46–47). Often when teenagers are first becoming interested in sex they rarely get information from their parents. It is all too common that they receive these messages from friends, television and other forms of media. Often they are tuned into prime time television, which 80% of the programs contain sexual content. Frequently, characters are shown having spur–of–the–moment sex, and are "rarely shown taking steps to avoid pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases" (Beck 535). Time and again, television media contributes to family violence and children perceive that violence and abuse is not only the norm, but acceptable within ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 63. The Negative Influences Of Procrastination Negative Influences of Procrastination We've all had a paper due on a Wednesday that we had known about for the past two weeks, but for some unknown and involuntary reason, we choose to save it for a Tuesday evening, which turns into a Wednesday morning as we frantically work to finish an assignment we probably could have finished in class over a couple of days. We may have been preoccupied those couple of weeks, with a job, or sports; maybe even putting together a fundraiser of some sort. Or maybe, we haven't been busy at all, and have chosen to go home after class and eat rice– cakes and watch Netflix all afternoon, into the evening, and continuously tell ourselves "I'll get it done tomorrow." Many of us have a habit of making nearly every important task, (whether it be homework, paying a bill, making a phone call, or even booking a trip) an "oh, I'll do that tomorrow" type of job. What most of us realize, but choose to ignore, is that continuously putting of these duties of ours will not only have negative consequences on the result of the job that needs to be done, but on our mental physical and mental health as well. People may have excuses for leaving things to the last minute, but the hard truth that they need to accept is that they are a habitual procrastinator. It is imperative that we understand that procrastination will (eventually, if not immediately) have effects on our lives, from downward spirals in our happiness and personal satisfaction, to destroying our ... • 65. Negative Influence Of Barbie I feel like barbie is a detrimental object to young girls and should have never been created because she gives off a negative influence on young girls. I conclude that barbie is a negative influence because of the way she dresses, I say that due to the fact she wears skirts, shirts that show cleavage and her body type is skinny. Mattel states in the copyrighted version of the Barbie sticker album that "the shape of the doll, its clothes and the focus on dating activities presents sexual attractiveness as a key to popularity." This evidence brings me to my conclusion that barbie is in fact a negative influence because she is presenting young girls with sexual images and leaving them with the impression that they can do, wear whatever they want and think they are better than everyone else. For example, Kim Kardashian acts the way she does because she had barbie as young girl. Growing up as a kid I watched a bunch of cartoons but the one show that affected me the most was Scooby Doo, it had a very positive effect on me growing up because it taught me how to work together as a team, never give up on anything and to do the right things because when you don't there will be consequences to pay. I recommend this TV show to all children because it will positively influence them in their life growing up in this cold world. Scooby doo taught me how to work together as a team because when the gang would be trying to solve mysteries they would have to team up to catch the bad guy, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 67. Negative Influences On Youth Sports Youth sports have become a cornerstone of today's American society. Most children have or will participate in some sort of organized sport, whether it be through a local organization or through a national organization like the YMCA. The question being posed today is if these organizations should award every child with a trophy or medal for their participation, or if they should reserve these awards for those who won the most. If you praise and reward a child for just showing up, then it will hurt them later in life. There are two kinds of youth sports parents. There are the parents who admittedly say that it's not about winning or losing but about having fun. Then there are the parents who care only about the score of the game, and if their kid gets playtime. (Weller 1). The parents who say it's just about having fun, and think that everyone deserves a trophy are potentially hurting their kids' development. new studies from The Ohio State University and Utrecht University in the Netherlands advises against participation awards. "They suggest that parents often dole out inflated price to the children most likely to be hurt by it. "If you tell a child with low self–esteem that they did incredibly well, they may think they always need to do incredibly well," said Eddie Brummelman, lead author of the study. This culture of always praising children, especially in youth sports, is hurting the child's development. They will begin to avoid taking on challenging tasks for fear ... • 69. Death Is The Worst Thing There is one thing in this world that no one can escape, that everyone fears, and makes people who are close to that person miserable, and that is death. Death is the worst thing that can ever happen to a person, and is just as bad for the people who are close to them. There is an emptiness that comes with the death of a loved one or someone close. That blankness in the world does something to the people who encompass that person who passed. It changes people, whether it is for better or worse. Death is a part of life and depending on how people are affected can dictate whether it will leave a positive or negative change to their life and that conversion happened to me with the death of my mother, Fran. I can recall the day it happened, like it was yesterday, the air had a certain emptiness to it. It felt cold, barren, but it just felt like any normal rough day, where everything would not go your way. I arrived home from hockey practice like I do every Thursday with my father and was ready to lay down before I did my homework. Then we got the call and we bolted to the emergency room at Mercy Hospital. The nurse took us into a waiting room and we heard the heartbreaking news from the physician and the room went still. It was not a typical quiet but so quiet that you could almost hear your heart pounding out of your chest. When we saw my Mother, and we shockingly gazed what the car crash did to her it was a completely eye–opening. This could not be your Mother; that is all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 71. Negative Influences Of Fashion Teenagers are exposed to numerous different pressures of having perfect bodies, and attractive faces. Whether they get the advice from magazines, television, or the internet, many girls and boys want to achieve society's idea of exquisiteness and "perfection." Since these outlooks are huge supporters to the adolescents' low self–esteems, these are the prime reasons for the high numbers of cases and operations done. To begin, magazines are a huge factor towards the youth's views for beauty and trends. Many fashion companies and brands use teenagers for targeting advertising, since they are the next generation, or the future of fashion. However, the companies only place specific looks, and models expose the next generations to their "ideals of beauty". The fashion world has evolved greatly through time, but still possess superficial opinions. Only a few types of beauty are acceptable. In fact, some fashion magazines in the United States still use unhealthy models, and heavily edited photos and discloses them as real, or natural. However, France and other countries are stopping the damaging trend. Writer, Venessa Friedman (2017), of the New York Times writes about the innovative laws and regulations for models and the fashion world. Models must obtain a medical certificate from doctors pronouncing them in healthy conditions and weights. The thinner models encourage eating disorders and teenagers to receive liposuction to achieve their smaller physique. To add, the laws decree ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 73. The Media’s Negative Influence on Society The Media's Negative Influence on Society There is a lot of controversy about how the media affects people, but in my opinion I think the influence we get is more negative than positive. The media is one of the things that impact people the most because in today's society it is impossible to ignore. It influences the ways in which we dress, speak, act and think. Media is fed to us through movies, television, radio, social media, music, and magazines. I believe mass media is pressuring the way woman and girls want to look, twists reality, and is sexist towards woman without people even realizing. I think the most dominant affect the media has is on young women. The number one message the media sends is that all females must be skinny to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A teenager's main source of information about sex comes from what they pick up in the media. In television shows, music videos and video games, dressing skimpy, hooking up, and casual sex is totally normal. The problem is that there is rarely any mention of protection or STDs. This makes people in real life forget about those things, which leads to unexpected pregnancies and the spread of STDs. After the media demands you to be thin, it also wants you to be provocative and sexual, which I think is completely unrealistic. The media expresses an image, behavior, and lifestyle that are unrealistic for many people. ANAD says that the perfect body portrayed in advertisements is possessed naturally by only 5% of American girls. What many people do not understand, is that celebrities, models, and even News Reporters and broadcasters will not go on screen without altering their natural appearance. From head to toe, they need to look good. Their hair is styled by professionals and artists do their makeup. Their clothing is chosen by stylists and what some people may not know is that many clothes you see celebrities wear, they do not even own. • 75. Negative Influence Of Cellphones Cellphones are the key to companies advertisements. It is very difficult to find a teenager who does not have a smart phone. There are so many different things that cellphones are used for such as shopping, social media, and schoolwork. More often than not companies can track the things a person searches and continue to bring those things up in the feed of social media. You can tell everything about a person by what they have on their phone. The two kinds of ads out there are the ones that describe you and that have no effect on you. Issues come about extremely often because of the persistence of the companies and their advertisements. Throughout school I have seen many examples of this in my classmates, family, and my own life. To begin, we have spent every year ever since 6th grade with the same 100 people and some even longer then that. With spending that much time with the same people you get to know them quite well. Over the years everyone has changed, some for the good and others for the bad. Advertisements that pop up on their can show the things they have been searching and can say so much about a person. Do you really know a person until you know too much about them? For instance, if you were to take to cellphone of a classmate would it surprise you the types of advertisements are on their social media accounts? The ability to maintain your same self in all activities you're involved in is and extremely rare and great quality. Learning to read someones social ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 77. Positive And Negative Influence Of Globalization Google: The Impact and Positive and Negative Influence of Globalization According to the famous economist and philosopher Adam Smith, Christopher Columbus's discovery of the Americas in the search of spice was one of the most important events that led to the 'globalization big bang' (O'Rourke & Williamson, 2000). The discovery led to a more interacted and integrated world through trade, cultural infusion, colonization, and the exchange of ideas and goods not only in the 1400s but also in the world today. Globalization played a huge role in forming the world today. It demonstrated its power through both positive and negative impacts on the society, culture, economy, politics, environment, and lastly, religion. The success of the transnational corporation, Google, was one of many evidences that revealed the influence of globalization. Ever since Google was founded in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin, it grew exponentially over the last 19 years. Today, Google employed more than 60,000 workers in 50 different nations and influenced the lives of billions of people across the globe. The company launched hundreds of products from Google Search and Chrome to Google Home (Google, n.d.). So, how does Google relate to globalization? As a transnational corporation, Google demonstrated the importance and positive and negative influence of globalization through labor, global governance, and trade. Started in a garage in 1998, Google caught the attention of many members of the community as well as the investors in the Silicon Valley. It received its first $100,000 investment from the Sun co– founder Andy Bechtolsheim. From there, Google expanded rapidly. It hired more workers such as engineers, people in the sales team, and introduced the first company dog, Yoshka. They eventually received $25 million of venture capital. Shortly after, they moved their headquarters ("The Googleplex") to Mountain View, California (Google, n.d.). In 2000, Google released 10 different language versions of Google.com using French, German, Italian, Spanish, Swedish, Finnish, Portuguese, Dutch, Norwegian and Danish. In 2004, Google registered for Initial Public Offering (IPO) at $85 per share with 19,605,052 shares. Its innovative products, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
