Business Case Challenge
Through SuitUp, volunteers from Boston College
Investment Club and students from across the
nation participated in a SuitUp business
competition in which they created a new and
innovative product for Nike. Volunteers coached
students in various departments before helping
them pitch to judges for a cash prize.

Business Case Challenge Through SuitUp, volunteers from Boston College Investment Club and students from across the nation participated in a SuitUp business competition in which they created a new and innovative product for Nike. Volunteers coached students in various departments before helping them pitch to judges for a cash prize.
  • 4. Meetthe Students 92% of students identified as BIPOC Opening Doors and Reimagining Pathways for Students Everywhere… Students from all over the country, including the cities of Boston, New York, Chicago and Detroit joined Boston College Investment Club volunteers for the SuitUp with Boston College competition. 71% Female 29% Male

Before SuitUp 55% of students rated themselves as “kind of” confident in getting the skills needed for their future job 45% of students said everything they learn in the classroom is preparing them for their future job 43% of volunteers said volunteerism was a Boston College priority 48% of volunteers said that they believed they had the tools and resources to encourage students toward working in their college major

After SuitUp 95% of students felt more confident in school or preparing for for a career after working with SuitUp and Boston College coaches 100% of students said that they could see themselves having a career that uses the skills they learned from the competition with more opportunities 88% of volunteers believe they made a positive impact on students’ careers through SuitUp 100% of volunteers said that events like SuitUp make them proud to attend their college/university 88% of volunteers felt that SuitUp was a great way to encourage more students to join their college/university and/or college major

Boston College Impact SuitUp asked students if Boston College’s SuitUp competition made an impact on what they want to study when they go to college. 95% of students said the volunteers helped them come to this conclusion. What fields/career paths are our students interested in after working with the Boston College team?   • 9. Same time next week? 96% of volunteers are interested in doing a SuitUp competition again 95% of students liked their SuitUp competition and coaches 100% of students might like to participate in SuitUp again
