Beacon Program at MS 216
are school-based Community
Centers, funded by the New
York City Department of
Youth and Community
Development. Beacon child
care programs operate during
after school hours, summer
vacation and on weekends
and holidays, providing a
wide range of services and
activities for children and their
families.
SuitUp All Stars are
individuals that sign up
outside of their school or
organization to engage with
industry experts.

Business Case Challenge
Through SuitUp, volunteers from Millennium, SuitUp All Stars, and students from
Commonpoint Queens Beacon Program at MS 216 participated in a SuitUp business
competition in which they created a new and innovative product for Nike. Volunteers
coached students in various departments before helping them pitch to judges for a cash
prize.

SuitUp asked students if Millennium’s SuitUp competition made an
impact on their future career choice. 86% of students said that
engaging with the volunteers influenced their career choice and
now they can see themselves using skills such as communication,
teamwork and public speaking.

Millennium SuitUp Competition Empowers Students

At Millennium, individuals work with some of the most innovative, experienced, and creative people in the industry from a wide range of diverse backgrounds. They have 9 Employee Resource Groups to empower employees to connect & network. About Our Students The Commonpoint Queens Beacon Program at MS 216 are school-based Community Centers, funded by the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development. Beacon child care programs operate during after school hours, summer vacation and on weekends and holidays, providing a wide range of services and activities for children and their families. SuitUp All Stars are individuals that sign up outside of their school or organization to engage with industry experts.

Business Case Challenge Through SuitUp, volunteers from Millennium, SuitUp All Stars, and students from Commonpoint Queens Beacon Program at MS 216 participated in a SuitUp business competition in which they created a new and innovative product for Nike. Volunteers coached students in various departments before helping them pitch to judges for a cash prize. Winning Ideas: Heels Max & Aurora 5’s SuitUp to the Challenge Here were the ideas… ● Heely’s with LED Lights ● Comfort Cloud ● Nike NRG ● Nike+ Fitness Watch ● Heels Max ● Just Do It Yourself Shoes. ● The Multiverse ● EagleWear ● Nike Convertible 2.0 ● Aurora 5’s

Competitions Make a Difference… 92% of students feel more confident in school and preparing for a career after working with SuitUp and their coaches 100% of volunteers believe their company made a positive impact through SuitUp 100% of volunteers see SuitUp as a way to encourage more students to explore their industry or company AFTER SUITUP...

Millennium’s Impact SuitUp asked students if Millennium’s SuitUp competition made an impact on their future career choice. 86% of students said that engaging with the volunteers influenced their career choice and now they can see themselves using skills such as communication, teamwork and public speaking. Students are now interested in exploring the following fields: Business Administration / Entrepreneurship 57% Education 26% Graphic/Web Design 39% Fashion Design 48% Financial Services 19% Marketing 37% Media/Public Relations 28% STEM 28% Other 34%
