THE WOMAN OF THE RUINS-The scene where Sabel became the person to guide Maria,
she tell some stories to Maria and try to ask question to Maria if she really doesn’t remember
anything and Maria replied and said how am I suppose to forget a memory that has never been
mine. Sabel continues to talk and starting to build a communication with Maria. This scene is
Uncertainty Reduction Theory because Sabel tries to decrease the uncertainty and increase the
communication. When Maria found by Sol at the shore, Pasyon was lifted up because all those
years that he thought Maria was already dead and now he finally found her. When he saw the
face of Maria his hopes were lifted up, But after a days of staying, Maria doesn’t remember
anything even if Pasyon tries to tell her every piece ofdetails of her past, but Maria still refused
to accept the fact that she’s the wife of Pasyon, that’s why Pasyon begun to hurt her and sooner
torture her. This scene is an Expectancy Violation Theory because the expectation of Pasyon to
Maria is too high, that Maria will act the same way, the way they used to be before and she will
remember him, but the expectation of Pasyon was violated which lead him to hurt Maria. The
third one is when Maria forgave Pasyon for all the wrong things that Pasyon has done to her.
This is an Elaboration Likelihood Model because Maria uses her central route, Maria thinks that
Pasyon already regret his entire fault and she also considered some possible consequences might
happen.
SHIFT-When Estela and Trevor begin to build a relationship they also begin to tell some part of
their life like one of the scene where Trevor and Estela drinking coffee and they talked about
their love life, Trevor state that if they were about to see by his female friend it will surely be
jealous at Estela because his friend fell in love with him and Estela shares her story too, like the
girl that fell in love with Trevor, she also fell in love with a closeted gay, and soon followed by
some questions of Trevor. This scene is a Social Penetration Theory because they tend to share
more details of their life, not just by introducing their selves by saying their name but telling
stories of their life with trust in each other as they spend more time together. Second, the scene
where Estela was rushing at her quarter and Trevor offers the chair next to him because their co-worker
Sophia is on a leave but Estela act in an unusual way by refusing the offer of Trevor to sit
beside him and Trevor begin to think why Estela act that way. This scene is an Attribution
Theory because of the behavior shows by Estela which made Trevor think deeply, because it is
not the usual way of Estela in dealing with Trevor, the behavior of Estela is came from a
particular caused. The third one is the scene, where one of their co-worker compliment Trevor by
saying “You’re so blooming sis”, “you’re in love” and Estela heard that compliment for Trevor
and smiled as she passed by the quarters and the other day Trevor and Estela met at the coffee
shop and Estela asked Trevor if there is something he didn't mentioned at her and Trevor replied
and said “fine”, “Three nights ago I met the most amazing man.” And Estela was shocked in that
statement of Trevor. This scene is an Expectation Violation Theory because Estela thought that
she was the reason why Trevor is blooming and in love, the day she heard the compliment for
2. Trevor and when she discover that she’s not the reason why, her expectation was violated that’s
why she suddenly avoid Trevor on the other day.
BLUE BUSTAMANTE- When George take the job and begin to act as blue force he noticed
that the red force played by Saito always looking at him fiercely that's why George always in
alert mode he always wonder why Saito looking at him that way until the moment that they get a
chance to talk to each other and then George soon realize that there's only a misconception on his
part because Saito really admires him for being a blue force. This represents the Attribution
Theory because George always wondering why does Saito behave that way and sooner he
discovered the reason why Saito act that way, that's why he get the right caused of a particular
behavior. Second, the scene between George and his wife, after his wife told him that Kiko loves
blue force, George felt more motivated and proud in his job as Blue Force and because of that he
get some determination to finally tell his real job to his wife. This scene represents the
Reinforcement Theory because of the statement that is given by his wife his perception change
and that change leads him to fully embrace or accept his job as Blue Force. Third, the scene
where Ayumi and George meet again where George ask her to joined him for a dinner. George
did this to know more about Ayumi and to prevent Ayumi from running away from him every
time they met each other, even though they don't understand each other verbally they tend to
cotinue communicating with each other. This represents the Uncertainty Reduction Theory
because George wants to lessen the uncertainty level between them and also to decrease his
information seeking behavior.

GANITO KAMI NOON, PAANO KAYO NGAYON
Ganito Kami Noon, Paano Kayo ngayon tend to imply that the situation of our country during
the Spanish and American colonization was in a crucial situation, it is presented in a way that
Filipinos during those Eras were underestimated. In Spanish era, Filipinos are always under the
power of what we called “Prayle”, they must give respect and follow all the things that the prayle
said to them, like the first encounter of Kulas and father Gil, at first father Gil was following by
some sort of soldiers and escape those soldiers by hiding on them and when he saw Kulas he got
frightened at first because he think that Kulas is one of those whose following him that’s why he
said that he was a Filipino, but later on when he realize that Kulas is not that kind of person he
admit to Kulas that he is a priest and Kulas must respect him, that’s why he command Kulas to
accompanied him and let him ride on the horse of Kulas named Kidlat. At the time of Spanish
Era only educated and high profile person will have a chance to have a beautiful wife, when
Kulas was in high state of living, it is the only time where Diding recognized him.During the
American period, Filipinos are still in the same situation, when Kulas came back at his house
after so many things that happens to him, He was surprised when there is some American soldier
whose guarding his own house and he’s not allowed to enter into it, but Kulas forced to enter the
house and saw Concordia and its American husband, and he stared at the daughter of Concordia
and the American husband of Concordia said “stop starring at her, she’s mine”. During American
colonization we're still under their power even if Don Tibor stated that the Americans only
wanted to help us. Filipinos are presented in this movie in a good way because It’s a nature for a
Filipino to be kind to someone, like what Kulas did for Father Gil despite of the punishment he
3. receive by helping Father Gil, still, he accept the favor that Father Gil asked for him and that is
to search for his son named Bindoy. Filipinos are also faithful when it comes to loving someone.
Kulas never stop loving Diding inspite of all the bad things that Diding has done to him. Filipino
are so determined in fighting for their freedom if they learned how to kneel down, they will also
learned how to stand for their rights, as I observed the character of Kulas or Nicholas Ocampo,
his always smiling in any circumstances which we all know is the solid trait of a Filipino until
now. The whole story of the movie represents Reinforcement Theory because when Kulas going
to encounter new people his perception in some ways are being change, like when he encounter
some of the Filipino people whose fighting for the freedom of our country, his perception change
and begin to fight as one of those Filipino people for the justice and freedom of our country.
