2. Yearning
• Genre: the genre of my film is horror / thriller
• Title/Tagline: The working title of my film is The Yearning. I have chosen this
name as I feel that it is simple but striking with impact and would make the film
stand out as being different. The tag line of the film is “know when you are being
watched”, this is because the film is about how social media always means that
someone can see and monitor you at any time.
• Length of film: The film is about 15 to 20 minutes long, a short film that will
include three acts
• Where I got the idea: I got the idea from seeing a news story about how people
are being stalked using Instagram's new feature that lets you update your location
• Why this story: this story is dark and gritty about how some go insane very
quickly and the dangers of social media
• What’s the message: the film is about the dangers of social media and what
should and shouldn’t be put on it
3. Characters
• Ben Morning:- he is the main character and features at the start of the film appearing to be normal, but
throughout the film you begin to realise that is he not of sound mind and starts to get delusional
thoughts, and believes that he is in a relationship with Jess, who actual does not even know him.
• Jess Tramworthy: - this is the girl that Ben falls in love with. She is addicted to social media and posts
everything she does, even where she goes, what she does, her opinions, what she wears, what she eats,
who she is with and is always on her phone. This makes it very easy for Ben to follow and monitor her
and find out where she is always.
• Mrs and Mr Morning:- they are the parents of Ben and they start to notice that he is going out a lot more
than he used to, and that when he is in, doesn’t really talk to them anymore and on the odd occasion
he does he talks as if there is someone else is with him. They begin to get worried about him and
following him to see what or who he is meeting, and this ultimately leads to their demise.
• Heath Bell: - is one of Ben’s closest friends and has been hanging out with him for years since they were
young. Heath shows Ben this girl he has seen online and says “wow look how fit she is” this is where
Ben see Jess for the first time and he also starts to follow her on social media.
4. Plot
• The film is about a boy who finds a girl who he falls in love with on the internet.
He becomes so infatuated with this girl, that he starts to believe that he is talking
to her online and is deluded even thinking that they have started dating. He starts
to cut people out of his life, believing that she wanted him to. He stops seeing his
friends and family and starts to stalk this girl in real life. His friends confront him
about it, but Ben pushes them away. Ben is then confronted by his family who he
then kills as he believes that they don’t want him to see her. Ben is able to stalk
this girl as she is constantly updating her social media with her where abouts. Ben
confronts her for the first time where she urges him off and calls him a weirdo.
Ben gets angry and kidnaps her and keeps her in his house. Heath goes to check
on Ben and finds Bens dead parents and the kidnapped girl, he is then kill by Ben.
5. Picked out
• Genre: the genre of my film is horror / thriller
• Title/Tagline: The title of the film is Picked Out. The reason I chose Picked Out is
that it is synonymous with other horror / thriller film titles of the same genre,
such as “The Thing” and “The Shining”. The tag line for the film is “somethings
are better left in the forest”. Again like the tile this makes who ever is reading the
tag line think and ask questions such as, what has been taken from the forest and
why is it impotent and what are the consequences.
• Length of film: the length of the film will be 15 to 20 minutes long.
• Where I got the idea: I was inspired by films such as Hereditary by A24 and The
Ritual by The Imaginarium.
• Why this story: I find horror films interesting and find that the more down to
earth a film is the scarier it as you can relate to it.
• What’s the message: this film doesn’t really have an underling message the
whole goal of this film is to make you feel uneasy but never scared.
6. Characters
• Jack: Jack is the man character in the film and has just gone to uni. Jack can be shy sometimes but will stand up for himself, he can take a joke
and most of the time will just want to hang out with mates. Jack never had friends in this school, so when he made a load of friends in uni he was
shocked. Jacks group of friends liked to go out clubbing but most of the time the group of friends would get drinks and find a good spot to drink.
On one of the drinking sessions Jack and his friends run ahead of the others to go and smoke in the woods Jack loses James when he goes for a
wee and sees a light. Jack walked towards it and saw a small wooden tepee with a neckless in it he picked up the neckless and suddenly it was
daytime, and a woman comes up to him and touches his shoulder and it goes back to night-time. This was a cot member and she has picked Jack
the vessel for their demon lord. Jack starts to feel ill and plays of till eventually this woman starts weening her way into Jacks life and then she
uses James soul as a sacrifice and kills Jack turning him into a demon.
• James: James has become Jacks’ best friend at uni and is also his house mate and they get on well with each other. James can’t handle
serious situations well at all and will always try to deflect what ever is going on with humour. He will always look for a joke and try to make fun of
his mate at any point he never means it seriously. James loves to drink smoke and have a good time and is very happy go lucky when it comes to
life.
• Ben: Ben is one of the group of mates and is the one who finds all the cool abandoned spots where the group like to drink. Ben is very
carefree and cool and doesn’t really care about rules and what consequences and would rather have a good time and get in trouble.
• Will: Will is the more revered and is more scared of the consequences of what will happen so he fears the signs but is reassured by Ben that
no one will care about the goings on, Ben makes him do stuff he usually would not do.
• Jacob: Jacob is more of a peacekeeper and does not want any small fights to happen in-between the group so would agree with any group
the win the argument so the group presses on thought the forest.
• Woman from the woods : the woman from the woods is part of a cult and she is trying to find a host body to bring back the
demon that the cult worships. She is very odd, and she follows Jack around making sure that he looks after the demon that is in him, so she tries
to give him wired concoctions.
7. Plot
The film is about a group of uni students going on a midnight walk to go to an old forest that used to
be run by a cult. Their plan is to go and drink there and mess about. The main character Jack runs
ahead of the group with his mate James to have a fag so that they don’t have to share with the
group. Jack gets separated from James when he goes for a wee. This is where Jack meets the cult

reassured by his friends that it was nothing and the group continue on drinking. The next day Jack
wakes up and is not feeling to good so he does not go to his lecture. He goes to the shop to get
some stuff for a cold where he meets the woman who tells him that she is a doctor and try's to offer
Jack this weird medicine. Jack refuses and buys his stuff quickly and then leaves. He gets home and
starts to feel really ill so goes up to bed he starts to have weird visions about a demon call Bael who
is the ruler over the sixth demon legion. He then wakes where James tells him that he was coughing
up blood and writing weird symbols on the wall in his own blood so he calls a doctor and the
