2. Age representation
By using teenage girls within the images, it will attract my target
audience of both female and males. This is because the male
audience will be attracted to the red lipstick which the model on the
front cover is wearing. This is a stereotypical view of teenage males
as it is suggesting they only look at the females looks rather than
their personality. There is a strong representation of teenagers as
the features within my magazine are all associated with activities or
artists that teenagers associate with. For example, I have used ‘the
parklife weekender’ which will attract most of the target audience
as it is a well known event which mainly teenagers go to.
3. Gender Representation
Through-out my magazine there is a strong representation of females as there are
no images of males. The representation of women in my magazine is a positive one
as in each of my images she is doing nothing outrageous which is a stereotypical
view of teenage women in the music industry.
For example, on my contents page, this supports my point
in saying that there is a strong female representation of
females in my magazine. I have done this because I want it
to attract more to the female target audience as they
could look at the images and aspire to be like them which
will make them read the magazine. My magazine shows a
stereotypical view of the music industry as throughout the
music industry there is a strong representation of females
as there is more females then males. This is shown
through music magazine covers as most magazines use
female models on their cover pages.
4. Social Class
The social class which is represented in my
magazine is working class. This is because,
within my images, both models used were of
working class and are successful.
