The primary audience is females aged 16+. My audience must be interested in 80’s music and fashion
as that is what my magazine is based on. The audience must spend 40-50 pound a month on luxuries
to buy my magazine. My magazine will be released one a monthly at the price range between
2.00/2.50 pound. I have chosen this price range as my audience will be students and they will not be
able to afford an over priced magazine and if my magazine is over priced and my audience does not
buy my magazine I will lose out with profit.
The image I copied off to create my model pose, costume and props was the 80’s icon
Madonna. I decided to use Madonna as an inspiration in my modelling because she was a
massive diva and 80’s fashion icon, she was a very powerful artist in that era. I decided to
use a direct mode of address as I found Madonna used this pose and it was most effective as
it gives off the impression she holds the power and that’s the way my model to be seen as
(powerful). I want to let my audience know that my model is now the female boss. The
costume has a big part represent, it represents all sexes, the social group I aim for my
magazine to intrigue, the era I am trying to recreate and whether my model is formal or
informal. I have dressed my model in a little black dress, a blower hat, big curly hair and bold
make up. From this you can tell my audience will have to be interested in fashion this is
from the make up and little black dress. But my audience has to also be interested in 80’s
and the blower hat big curly hair was fashion within that generation. I got inspiration for my
props from this portrait, in my portrait I use a red lolly and my model is wearing bright red
lipstick. Both props make a big statement as they are both made more bold as the clothes
my model is wearing is a dark colour (black).I believe that the use of props with in my picture
increases the interest of it. Props sometimes adds question e.g. Why does she have that
lolly? Why does her facial expression make the lolly seem aggressive? I want questions to be
asked about my image that’s why I have used them and also they make the image more fun.
Both images are in high key lighting at a mid shot. High key lighting makes the image more
