2. The first thing I did was
open up a blank A4 project
which was portrait.
3. I then opened up my chosen
image and copied it over to
the blank A4 page to make
sure that it was the right
size for my magazine cover.
4. The next step I took was to
add the masthead of my
magazine “Abstract”. I used
a pale blue colour to fit my
chosen colour scheme and
used a font called
Sketchblock.
5. The next thing I did was
use the magnetic lasso tool
to bring the model in front
of the masthead.
6. The next thing I did was
import a barcode and
shrink it down to size and
then put it in the bottom
right corner.
7. Next I added the price
above the barcode, and the
issue number of the
magazine in the top left
corner below the masthead.
8. The next thing I did was
add my main cover line
which is “The Benefits of
Exercise” which I had in a
dark blue font.
9. I then changed the colour of
the main cover line to a
brighter colour, and then
added a stroke and shadow
effect to make the cover
line easier to see.
10. Next I added the cover
lines to my front cover
using a dark blue font and
used the stroke and shadow
effects which I also used on
the main cover line. I also
then aligned them.
11. After adding my cover
lines, I adjusted the
brightness and the contrast
of my photo to give the
image more of a sunset
effect.
12. Next I added sublines to
my front cover using pale
blue text to make them
stand out. I also added the
stroke and shadow effects.
13. Next I adjusted the spacing
between the lines in my
main cover line.
14. Finally I added the main
subline to my front cover
which is “How to plan a
diet and fitness regime
with a busy schedule”.
