Students presented the opening to their final media project film to other students for feedback. Daniel commented that the storyline was interesting and the progression underground could symbolize her fate, advising to keep the filters consistent. Cameron said it was mysterious and dark, but some shots were too shaky. Ellie's mum was surprised by the stalker and wanted to see more. Gemma said the close ups drew her in and the tracking shot looked professional. The students thanked all for their feedback and said they will make amendments based on the criticisms and value input from different audiences.
2. Intro
Today we came into school during the Easter
holidays to edit our final cut which we shot on
Tuesday, after the editing process and adding in
our chosen atmospheric music we presented
our film opening to some other media students.
Here is their feedback:
3. Daniel Gorsuch
“I like the storyline and the whole idea of the
antagonist following the protagonist through
London, I also think that the way in which as the
scene develops the character goes deeper
underground which could symbolise her fate. As
a media student I know that the exam board
look our for consistency therefore all the filters
need to be the same so you should make them
all heat wave.”
4. Cameron Walker
• “I would go and see your film in the cinema as
I liked the fact it was mysterious and dark. I
think your shots matched well with the
sinister mood you was trying to create.
However I think for the opening to be a top
grade, a few of the shots need to be altered as
they are too shaky, especially the phone shot.”
5. Ellie’s Mum
• “I think your opening is really strong,
especially as it is filmed in one location. Also,
I’d like to watch the rest of the film as I was
quite surprised by the stalker taking the
picture of the girl as I was led to believe that
he was going to kidnap her.”
6. Gemma Boreham (Year 10)
• “I liked the amount of close ups in the opening
as I got to know the characters and this led me
to be scared for the girl’s safety. Also I liked
the variation of shots, especially the tracking
foot shot as it looked professional.”
7. Analysis Of Feedback
• We would like to thank everyone for their
comments as they have helped and encouraged
us to improve and believe in the success of our
opening. We will take all criticisms on board and
amend our film accordingly.
• We also think that is important we have a variety
of feedback from different age groups and types
of people, e.g. school children and middle aged
parents.
