2. Assistive Technology
Assistive Technology devices are defined as
any item, piece of equipment or product
system whether acquired off the shelf,
modified, or customized to increase,
maintain or improve functional capabilities.
3. Assistive Technology
When a person needs for assistive technology
can’t be met with a commercial device,
special devices that are mass produced and
commercially available for person’s with
disabilities can be attempted. Examples
would be assisting with their daily living, or a
wheelchair.
4. Assistive Technology
Assistive Technology can be defined as a
broad range of devices such as hearing aides
to help children with disabilities.
It includes evaluating needs and skills for
assistive technology.
Technology is the driving force and is a must
in the classroom setting.
Students love learning with computers.
6. Technology
Technology can serve as two major purposes
which are helping and teaching. Technology
that helps an individual to carry out a
functional activity is known as Assistive
Technology. It can also be used as part of an
educational or rehabilitative .process
7. Assistive Technology
Substitution is defined as getting rid of the
old ways of learning.
Augmentation is defined as making old
things more functional.
Modification is redesigning all learning
experiences ; redefinition plus new task
equals transformation.
8. Assistive Technology
Implementing assistive technology in the
classroom will give educators the ability to
assist children with disabilities to learn new
things in new ways such as engaging and
attending, motivation, curiosity and
connection with parents.
It also gives teachers the ability t0 learn
different things also. No one is to young or
old to learn new things.
9. Assistive Technology
I have learned so many things by researching what assistive
technology is and a lot of the information was learned
already but what I have included in my future educational
process is that all children learn information different but in
today’s society has a lot to deal with technology and
technology is taking over.
MOOC means Massive, Open ,Online Course which I
learned about in my Instructional Design class. Openness
would be considered Creative Ambiguity instead of general
ambiguity or productive ambiguity. Open class is a dynamic
learning environment that helps educators bring social
learning and experiences to their students. It breaks the
barriers to education by reaching millions of learners .
10. Summary
I am very curious and motivated about what
new ideas that I will learn in this semester.
I am ready and excited about implementing
assistive technology in my classroom setting.
