make sure it is a worth while experience - that you will learn have hands on experience... not exploited like fashion work experience examples....!!! - Look for expenses to be covered - travel & food.... Ask questions get feedback on portfolio and work experience roles.... You may not want to work in a way that you initially thought! They offer business support, funding, mentoring, job opportunities, galleries. See who get these awards... why? Follow how their practices develop. Why does it interest you? Take your time to think about and question your practice....Some projects you may do away from college may be more relevant to your personal voice...Without briefs from college... you thinking, questioning and playing with your ideas. Form confidence and your independent voice Blogs are great tools for sharing your voice & connecting to others that interest you... other social media can work... choose what is best for your practice.

Exhibitions... Draw on the underlying theme of collective making and narratives within the making process. The process is made explicit to the viewer and shared through documentation, engaging the on-looker in the making. In some instances I may initiate a dialog behind the the final outcome, with themed workshops that will invite participants to form a conversation and address the issues raised by the final piece. Private commissions... Developing a close relationship, working together to unlock memories within textiles. Recording and sharing the process. Social documentation; recording what textiles are discarded and why? - What are the stories held in the textiles we value and treasure...
