• Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands and
is home to the highest point in Spain, the tip of
the Mount Teide volcano.
• It is in a central position between the islands of
Gran Canaria, La Gomera ( the closest , 27 km
away) and La Palma. The island is just over
300 km from the African continent and 1300 km
from the Iberian Peninsular.

• The largest and probably best known river of
Poland is the Vistula River (Wisła)
• Poland has one of the highest amounts of lakes
in the world, with only Finland having a greater
density of lakes. The largest lakes cover more
than 100 square kilometres and include: Lake
Sniardwy, Lake Mamry in Masuria, Lake Lebsko
and Lake Drawsko in Pomerania.

9. PLANTS IN POLAND
• Of the relatively few plant species native to Poland,
most grow in the Carpathian mountain range, in the
south of the country. Poa nobilis, a perennial grass,
and Euphrasia tatrae, a flowering herb, are both
common in the Carpathian mountains.

• Tenerife is known internationally for its warm and
pleasant climate, as the "Island of Eternal Spring”. The
island, which lies at the same latitude as central
Florida, enjoys a warm tropical climate with an average
of 18–24 °C in the winter and 24–28 ° in the summer.
