Tenerife and Poland differ greatly in geography, climate, and ecosystems. Tenerife is a volcanic island located in the Atlantic Ocean with a warm, tropical climate and over 1,400 plant species, many endemic. It has over 400 fish species and unique reptiles, birds, and mammals but no rivers. In contrast, Poland is a landlocked country in Central Europe with varied climates from oceanic to continental. It is home to large forest areas and the largest populations of white storks and historically housed aurochs and wisent. Poland contains over 2 billion cubic meters of forest and many animals that are extinct elsewhere in Europe. Both locations showcase remarkable biodiversity considering their sizes.
