A2 Media Coursework

1. Clothing
I have chosen the colours green, black and gold as my main
focus when it comes to costumes as I think that it portrays the
mood and style I am looking for. The mood should be fierce
and strong so, these colours correspond to this by all standing
out fromeach other and also resembling an army.
The styles of costumes such as a playsuitsuit my genre and
idea becausethey express the diva style as well as being
appropriateto dance in. When choosing my costumes I had
to make surethat the dancers could dance with ease in
them withoutany restrictions. So, this is why I chosedance
orientated clothing (leotards, hot pants, playsuits,
jumpsuits, leggings and crop tops).
Each dancer will be wearing different shades or these
colours and differenttypes of leotards and playsuits etc.
This is to make surethey all stand out fromeach other
and look as strong and fierce as possible. In mostpop
music videos the chorus dancers don’tall wear the sameto
each other or the lead so I want to follow the same concept
and conformto this feature.
The lead of my music video will have a few costume
changes whereas I will keep the chorus dancers in the
same. When the lead is on her own I will have here in a
long dress to enhance her power but when she is with the
chorus shewill wear similar clothing but a feature that will
make her standoutsuch as; a bold necklace or bracelet.

2. Props:
In my music video I won’tbe having any props as, I will usethe sand and water
around to create effects. I will do this splashing the water and swishing the
sand to add another dimension to the choreography.
Actors:
My actors are going to be some girls that I dance with. I have chosen these girls
because I havechosen a contemporary R&Btrack which includes dancing.
Using these actors means I can producea music video that includes an
effective and professionaldancepiece. This also means I can concentrate on
getting the best angle and focus on the shots dueto my actors already having a
practice run through of the choreography I haveset. The actors I have chosen
fit the dance style as well because they will performthe piece with the styles I
have set (sassy, fierceand powerful).
