Environmental changes

1. There have been a number of environmental changes in that
country during the five- year period from the year 1997 to the year
2002.
First, let us look at greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide .
There was a large decrease in greenhouse gas emissions from 1997 to
2002 .
Next , let us examine water pollution. Here there was a small
reduction in water pollution over the five years.
Next, let us look at the use of unleaded petrol. This increased a lot
over the five year period.
Next , the use of liquid natural gas (or LNG) in cars . From 1997
to 2002, this rose slightly.

2. Finally, let us look at the destruction of coral reefs. Over the five-year
period there was no change. It remained exactly the same.
The three most important environmental problems facing Egypt
today , and possible solutions

The three most important environmental problems facing
Egypt are the destruction of coral reefs, desertification and
air pollution.
Coral reef destruction is mainly caused by oil pollution in
the sea. It is also caused by global warming.
Desertification is mainly caused by evaporation of water
from soil .Air pollution can be caused by emission of
greenhouse gases

3. B. Solutions
Problem (1) : This problem can be solved by preventing ships
from emptying their oil tanks into the sea .Global warming
can be solved by a reduction in deforestation.
Problem (2) : This problem can be solved by irrigating the
land and preventing the soil from being eroded.
Problem (3) : This problem can be solved by a reduction in
combustion of fossil fuels.
Global warming is a general increase in world
temperatures. It is caused by increased amounts of carbon
dioxide around the Earth. Greenhouse gases, mainly carbon
dioxide and methane , trap heat above the Earth. They cause
gradual warming of the air surrounding the Earth.

4. in the atmosphere The amount of CO2 is increasing
because of the burning of fossil fuels. Tropical forests absorb
increase global warming. As a result of global warming ice
caps would melt and the sea level would rise. This may cause
some parts of the world to flood .
To prevent global warming, we must not destroy
tropical forests. We must use less fuel and electricity. We
should plant trees everywhere. We should reclaim the desert
land. We should also recycle paper and aluminium.
