Introduction
Operation Anaconda took place in the Shahikot Valley of eastern Afghanistan. The mission began on March 2, 2001 and ended on March 16, 2001. A
"hammer and anvil" attack, with 600 American and 400 Afghan troops, would rout, capture, or kill enemy forces. The operational timeline for a
three–day battle projecting light combat took fourteen days to complete. During Operation Anaconda, Unity of Command planning did not fully
anticipate the need for additional forces, inducing a stall in operations on the battlefield, and negating a timely victory.

In keeping with the U.S. intention to keep the footprint in Afghanistan small and allow the Afghans to do as much of the fighting as possible, TF

The Objectives Of The Operation Bodyguard
Operation Bodyguard was the operation name for the subterfuge leading up to the D–Day invasion. There were three main objectives for this operation:
convincing the Germans that Pas de Calais was the main invasion target, keeping secret the date and time of the invasion of the Normandy beaches,
and keeping German reinforcements from heading to the Normandy beaches. The planning for this operation started with "First Thoughts," a paper
created on July 14th, 1943 which had many of the ideas represented in Operation Bodyguard. At first, the Allied high command was dubious of using
deception as it did not work well in Operation Cockade. This was an operation done to confuse German high command and draw them into air battles.
However, the Germans barely responded to the fake invasion force and the operation was a failure. Yet, even with this mistrust of deception and use of
