Jim Bruister is founder and President of SoC Solutions. Mr. Bruister is a 30-year veteran of the ASIC and custom IC industry and has created and managed multiple ASIC development groups.
SoC Solutions, a SOC design and integration services company, was founded in March, 2000 by experienced ASIC and Embedded Software designers with a rich history of designing ASICs with embedded microprocessors. Our Pre-integrated IP Platforms have been used successfully in numerous ASIC, and FPGA designs, many of which have been in production for years. We have supplied IP and services to major OEMs and Semiconductor companies alike.
Mr. Bruister worked at Mostek, VLSI Technology, and Home Wireless Networks prior to starting SoC Solutions. Mr. Bruister holds a BEE in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech.

ASB (AMBA System Bus) is an older architecture not recommended for new designs. Separate address decoders are required for the AHB & APB segments. A simple AMBA bus system will have high-speed devices on an AHB (AMBA High-Speed Bus) segment and lower throughput devices on an APB (AMBA Peripheral Bus). More complicated multiple AHB bus systems are possible. The Altera Excalibur is an example of this architecture.
