Problem being attempted to change: 
Spreading Literacy among Community
We feel- 
1. Parents were illiterate. They didn’t know how to write their names, 
they always use only thumb impression . 
2. As per the Govt. Norms if some one wants to get benefits he/she 
must have a Bank Account and for it, requires signature on papers. 
3. They were unable to support their child in homework. 
4. Community is unaware regarding their rights. 
5. When we connect with parents in PTMs and in home visits we 
found that most of the people can’t do signature.
Every one wanted to resolve this problem. We all think various ideas to overcome this 
problem but always failed . One day during school Bal Sabha the students of class 5th 
suggested that they will teach their parents. They said that they will spread the 
awareness of literacy. They suggested that we will take the class of our parents and 
grandparents and will literate them. They said that we will spread the awareness in 
community and make them vibrant. They said with a high level of confidence that “ 
We can do it” 
Imagine
We ‘Did’:- 
Student’s arranged parents’ class. In this class first of all they 
taught them to write their name. After this they taught them 
about health & hygiene, Importance of cleanliness, Value 
education, Govt. Scheme & About how to support in home 
work.
We Did:- 
Students regularly focus in 
classes as they also had to 
teach their parents/ 
grandparents at home.
Impact on Us: 
• Mostly people are able to sign in place of thumb 
impression. 
• They have understood the importance of literecy as 
well as education. 
• Students have taught them about Importance of 
Cleanliness, Health & Hygiene, Benefit of Govt. 
Schemes, value education. 
• Parents are able to help in home work. 
• They support in homework so learning level has 
improved. 
• Students average attendance which used to be in 
80s, has climbed to +90%
Now over 300 
parents/guardians are able to 
sign. They also support in 
homework. They follow their 
class learning in daily life.
Experience of Community Members & Teachers: 
• “Our students did a wonderful work. This is 
nice initiative to spread awareness in 
community. Kailash yadav. H.T.” 
• “I saw that soft hand of our children can 
change in society very well, Our school 
children have done great here. (Banraj singh., 
community leader)

  • 1. Parent’s Class Satya Bharti School,Dhani Pipliyan Amer, Rajasthan, Problem being attempted to change: Spreading Literacy among Community
  • 2. We feel- 1. Parents were illiterate. They didn’t know how to write their names, they always use only thumb impression . 2. As per the Govt. Norms if some one wants to get benefits he/she must have a Bank Account and for it, requires signature on papers. 3. They were unable to support their child in homework. 4. Community is unaware regarding their rights. 5. When we connect with parents in PTMs and in home visits we found that most of the people can’t do signature.
  • 3. Every one wanted to resolve this problem. We all think various ideas to overcome this problem but always failed . One day during school Bal Sabha the students of class 5th suggested that they will teach their parents. They said that they will spread the awareness of literacy. They suggested that we will take the class of our parents and grandparents and will literate them. They said that we will spread the awareness in community and make them vibrant. They said with a high level of confidence that “ We can do it” Imagine
  • 4. We ‘Did’:- Student’s arranged parents’ class. In this class first of all they taught them to write their name. After this they taught them about health & hygiene, Importance of cleanliness, Value education, Govt. Scheme & About how to support in home work.
  • 5. We Did:- Students regularly focus in classes as they also had to teach their parents/ grandparents at home.
  • 6. Impact on Us: • Mostly people are able to sign in place of thumb impression. • They have understood the importance of literecy as well as education. • Students have taught them about Importance of Cleanliness, Health & Hygiene, Benefit of Govt. Schemes, value education. • Parents are able to help in home work. • They support in homework so learning level has improved. • Students average attendance which used to be in 80s, has climbed to +90%
  • 7. Now over 300 parents/guardians are able to sign. They also support in homework. They follow their class learning in daily life.
  • 8. Experience of Community Members & Teachers: • “Our students did a wonderful work. This is nice initiative to spread awareness in community. Kailash yadav. H.T.” • “I saw that soft hand of our children can change in society very well, Our school children have done great here. (Banraj singh., community leader) Our Students Successfully done this great task. (Om prakash Yadav, Community member)
