Satya Bharti Govt.Primary School, Balyawali Talai,Amer
Details;- 
“Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan” Total sanitation campaign was roll out-1999-2000. The approach adopted 
in this campaign aims at motivating rural households to build toilet facilities and encouraging their use. 
Satya Bharti government school, Balyawali Talai is situated in open area out of village Labana. Students 
of school see community members go out for defecation at open areas surround school, field, road side 
& farms etc. The students feel it related to a sensitive issue with Sanitation of Environment & safety of 
girls and women against crimes. They decided to spread awareness in community about bad effects & 
harms of personal hygiene and environment. 
The students discussed with teachers about this conditions and get informed about Nirmal Bharat 
Abhiyan scheme of Govt. to help BPL,APL family for construction of toilet at home. They conducted 
meetings, rally, role-play at school, community to spread awareness in community and aware about 
harms of Insanitation condition & female crimes at the time of late night in the open areas. 
Students surveyed to identify non toilet homes & Prepared list and submitted at Gram Panchayat office 
with Application for helping amount issued by govt.to toilet construction. 
The result of community awareness was seen and every home started to construct toilets in community 
and Gram Panchayat issued grant amount to villagers. All community got aware about the sanitation….
Feel- Most of the community members were going outside the community 
areas ( nearby roads, Fields etc.) for defecation. It was not safe for the girls 
and women to go outside as well as not for health of the peoples of village. 
The students listened, read many news of teasing/rape cases where mostly 
females were alone of went for open defecation. They asked teachers that 
why they are not using or constructing the toilets at home & what are the 
ways to resolved it.
Imagine- Students decided to aware people for proper use of Govt. aid . And tell them the harms 
of open defecation. They had their own discussion sessions after school hours where plans were 
made for survey, Rally, Meeting with community members, Poster pasting, Individual counseling.

Impact- Many people of village got benefit of Govt. Aid for toilet construction. Females of those homes 
were very happy. Now there is no need to be ashamed and feeling safe……Thanks …

bani rahti thi lekin aaj school ke bachhon ne ganv me shouchalayo ka nirman karakar Paryawaran ke 
sath-sath hamari bahu-betiyun ko bhi surksha dila di h..mai aaj bahut khus hu...”

subah-sham latrine ke liye surksha ke dar ore sankoch ke sath ghar se bahar jana padta tha.us dar ko 
dur karne me village ke logo ne koshish tak nhi ki ore in chote-chote bachho ne gharon me toilets 
banakar us dar ko hamesha ke liye samapat kar diya.Bachho ki awareness dekhar meri to ankhe bhar

They conducted meetings, rally, role-play at school, community to spread awareness in community and aware about harms of Insanitation condition & female crimes at the time of late night in the open areas. Students surveyed to identify non toilet homes & Prepared list and submitted at Gram Panchayat office with Application for helping amount issued by govt.to toilet construction. The result of community awareness was seen and every home started to construct toilets in community and Gram Panchayat issued grant amount to villagers. All community got aware about the sanitation….
  • 3. Feel- Most of the community members were going outside the community areas ( nearby roads, Fields etc.) for defecation. It was not safe for the girls and women to go outside as well as not for health of the peoples of village. The students listened, read many news of teasing/rape cases where mostly females were alone of went for open defecation. They asked teachers that why they are not using or constructing the toilets at home & what are the ways to resolved it.
  • 4. Imagine- Students decided to aware people for proper use of Govt. aid . And tell them the harms of open defecation. They had their own discussion sessions after school hours where plans were made for survey, Rally, Meeting with community members, Poster pasting, Individual counseling.
