ASSURE Lesson Plan
A: Analyze Learners
The class is a first grade class. The are 17 students in the class room. The gender make up is 10
boys and 7 girls. The racial make up is 70% white, 20% black, and 10% Hispanic. The class has 7
special needs students, ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder).
S: State Objectives
The students will demonstrate their knowledge of the months of the year through class
participation, videos, and group projects with 90% competency.

U: Utilize Media, Material, and Methods
1- The computer will be used by the teacher to connected to the internet and the projector in order to
present digital media to the class.
2- The website Youtube will be used to play a video on the months of the year with.
3- Will be used by the students in the creation of their group project.
4- The projector will be used to present digital media to the class.
5- The Dry-erase board will be used by the teacher during part of the lesson
6-The Dry-erase markers will be used by the teacher during part of the lesson
7-The colored pencils will be used by the students during their group projects.

Introduction to the lesson
The teacher will give a quick introduction to the months in a year. After the introduction
students will watch a quick Youtube video to help them learn the order of the months. After the video
the students will practice the song and repeat it back as a group. After that the students work on their
group proect.
2. Group Project
1- Students will be broken into six groups (5 of 3 students and 1 of 2 students), care will be taken to
distribute students with ADHD their need in mind. Such as partnering them with students that they are
able to work with.
2- Each group will be given a group of 2 months that they have to make a calender for.
3- Students will decorate each month with imagery that they as a group associate with that month.
4- Each group will fill in the dates for their months and are to mark down holidays.
5- When the groups are done on there calender the students will put them in order in the front of the
class and mark their birthdays.
6- Once again students will sing the song and will clap when the months they did comes up.
