Minority Population Relevancy
Minority Population Relevancy
As with many things pertaining to mental health and minorities, there is substantial lack information
on how Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD) is specifically relevant to minority populations. Often
signs or symptoms of this disorder are overlooked or misdiagnosed due in part to varying emphases
on the role of parent/child interactions in different cultures and ethnicities. It is known that
regardless of upbringing, "an infant's motivation and behavior are thought to be primarily instinctual
and unconscious, early experiences provide the framework for what will become the unconscious
mind in adulthood" (Hardy, 2007, p. 29).
The rapidly changing ethnic and racial landscape of America has not taken into consideration ...

RAD is a disorder that can have extreme consequences for not only the child/adult diagnosed with
the disorder, but also for the negative effect it will have on those in future relationships with this
individual. Being aware of risk factors and symptoms of RAD can help the client in receiving the
correct diagnosis. While the ability to properly identify and diagnose RAD has not been perfected, it
is vital to interventions being effective. Research and knowledge surrounding RAD is still new to
the field and therefore treatment is still not concrete. However, it is important that RAD continue to
be researched because of the social repercussions individuals with RAD face later in life. The
inability to form healthy relationships can hinder an individual's chances of overall success.
Personal, professional, and societal relationships are all affected by RAD and what little research
exists to support cultural differences in RAD shows that minorities are at greater risk. Treatment for
this disorder has proven to be more effective with earlier intervention involving both the caregiver
and the child. For the betterment of our communities and societal mental health, it is concluded that
more research needs to be conducted and that the result could include better treatments and healthier

The Relevancy of Ethnomusicology to the Study of British...
The Relevancy of Ethnomusicology to the Study of British Folk Music
Ethnomusicology has an image problem. Insofar as anyone has heard of ethnomusicologists at all,
there is a fairly common feeling (and not unjustified, bearing in mind what ethnomusicologists
collectively seem to do) that ethnomusicology is, exclusively, the study of non–Western musics.
Actually, this isn't so. Ethnomusicologists study Western traditions also, albeit not in huge numbers
in Britain – but even here, our sparseness in the study of local traditions is probably no more marked
than our sparseness in the study of overseas traditions. (There are just two British
ethnomusicologists who work on Chinese music, for instance, which means that we have something

The point of all these terms was that the investigator sought to understand the topic from the
perspective of the native 'informant'. The ethnomusicologist was as interested in, say, an Egyptian's
'musicology' – i.e., his explanations and understandings of music – as in his music itself. Adoption
of the term signalled a departure from previous research, where it had often been assumed that there
was no native theory. The comparative musicologist (or at least his caricature) had simply (or not so
simply, when we think of old recording technology) remained in his laboratory where he amassed an
archive of wax cylinders and the like. Sitting down (in an armchair, according to most stereotypes)
he (less often, she) then wrote out the music and studied the resulting notation in order to produce
theories about what was going on.
The ethnomusicologist, on the other hand, is himself (and more and more, herself) a collector as
well as an analyst. The model of collection, however, was not that of earlier scholars like Cecil
Sharp, Percy Grainger or Bela Bartok. Rather than ranging widely, but quickly, across a broad
region, the ethnomusicologist was supposed to gather materials through 'participant–observation'.
Instead of gathering recordings alone, the ethnomusicological researcher gathered experience, both

Critically Analyzing Sources for Research
During college, students should be able to research and analyze their sources. It is an important life
skill. By using the ability to research, they can find articles with credible, reliable, and relevant
information to get the best and dependable research. People who use these techniques will find each
of these components essential to the authenticity of an article. These skills would be able to help
students and researchers discover trustworthy and reliable sources. Each of the different components
in a quality research makes it solid and dependable. Credibility is how believable or truthful the
research, and whether the researchers have the credentials to do research in that area. Reliability is
the reputation of the article's source, and if the authors considered any biases. Relevancy is how
current the article is or how important it is now. Students conducting research in college need to be
able to critically analyze sources for credibility, relevancy, and reliability in order to determine their
usefulness in a research paper.
The first step in finding a credible article is looking for credentials and qualifications of the authors.
Each of the three authors of this article has the credentials and qualifications to write about this
subject. The three researchers of this article are Zhengchuan Xu, Qing Hu, and Chenghong Zhang.

Paid Search: A Case Study
While the use of SKAGs (Single Keyword Ad Groups) is gaining in use, we have neglected another
important aspect of control in Paid Search accounts. Due to the lack of a quantifier like quality score
for keywords and ads, the ability and concern to manipulate a single location within a targeted area
of a campaign has been overlooked. While demographics play an important part in the optimization
of return on investment, location optimization is for the most part automated. We can set location
bid adjustments, include and exclude locations, but lack the ability to fully control ad spends in a
specific market without generalization. I propose the use and process of separating out markets by
the most specific location to fully quantify the data given to us by platforms. This practice further
complements the ability to regain control of what you are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Ad extensions continue to push the barrier for relevancy however, they are being limited in use
because of locations that are not fully adjustable within the same campaign. The use of single
location ad campaigns also increases the ability and ease of relevancy when customizing ad copy
that an Ad group cannot control. What may work for one side of a large city may not work for
another. This same thought applies to content. Certain zip codes or cities may benefit from being
targeted by a Display Select campaign while others degrade in performance. Important and location
specific factors like area codes and phone numbers further impact click through rates for features
such as call and message extensions which allow control down to the ad group level, however you
cannot target locations at an ad group level which renders this feature useless when appealing to
your target audience. Only by splitting these out by specific locations will you be able to regain
control and further testing with accurate

The authors of this recently published review paper studied the outcomes of six randomized control
trials. These trails used several tools for screening to identify Intimate partner violence. Specifically,
they were interested in examining the rates of intimate partner violence disclosure among adult
women when computer– 18 assisted, self–assisted, and face–to–face interview screening were used
to disclose intimate partner violence. There were no significant differences in the outcomes of the
study when compared to studying the women who were screened face–to–face than those that used
self–administered screenings. The studies did show however, that studies which used a computer–
assisted screening tool had greater odds of disclosure more than the face–to–face interviews. Given
the sensitivities of disclosing intimate partner violence, this data suggests methods by which
screening women may be advantageous. This study relevancy is important due to the data on the
research on the best participants in a study on victims of intimate partner violence.

##torical Analysis Of Maya Angelou's 'The Fight She Fought'
The Fight She Fought Ariel Worrell Wilkes Community College The Fight She Fought Maya
Angelou's speech (August 31, 2008) at Coretta Scott King's funeral was very successful. She
drivingly outlined the issues that Coretta Scott King fought for throughout her life, Angelou did so
in a way that allowed those listening to feel connected to King. Angelou makes it clear that King's
life was one of great importance. She delivered the information in a relevant and important way. Her
use of relevancy, audience connections, and humor allowed her to deliver the eulogy meaningfully.
Audience Connection is essential when delivering a speech, Angelou mastered the technique as seen
in this speech. Angelou (2008) opens the Eulogy with a popular hymnal, "I open my mouth to the
Lord and I won't turn back, no. I will go, I shall go. I'll see what the end is gonna be.". This allowed
her to make a connection with the audience. Many people knew this hymnal; therefore, they felt as
if she is one of them. Angelou (2008) went on to say "Those of us who gather here, principalities,
presidents, senators, those of us who run great companies, who know something about being
parents, who know something about being preachers and teachers – those of us..". "Those of us"
referred to everyone in the audience, Angelou (2008) was including everyone and in doing so she
was making an audience connection. Angelou (2008) then said " we owe something from this
minute on; so that this gathering is not just another footnote on the pages of history. We owe
something.". No one wants to believe that their actions will be forgotten. By this point in the speech
Angelou had already made an audience connection and by doing so has allowed for a call to action.
This call to action is a very important part of the speech because it developed relevancy in a way
that was consequential. One tool that Angelou used while giving the eulogy was relevancy.
Following the hymnal, Angelou (2008) begins by saying "In the midst of national tumult, in the
medium of international violent uproar.." Violent uproar is all around, which makes this quote from
the speech incredibly relevant. The entire Eulogy by

Feminism
FEMINISM
Introduction to Sociology
Feminism
Belief in the social, political, and economic equality of the sexes.
The movement organized around this belief.
Feminism
Feminist Theory is an outgrowth of the general movement to empower women worldwide.
Feminism can be defined as a recognition and critique of male supremacy combined with efforts to
change it.
Feminism
The goals of feminism are:
To demonstrate the importance of women
To reveal that historically women have been subordinate to men
To bring about gender equity.
Feminism
Simply put:
Feminists fight for the equality of women and argue that women should share equally in society's

Society's Influence
Fashion and the film industry are two huge influences on societal expectations that women display
their bodies sexually.
The sexual revolution liberated women from the
Victorian of modesty but also demanded a commitment to diet and beauty.
Doing Gender
Many feminist theorists believe that an individual is labeled at birth as a member of a sex category,
either male of female, and from that point on, is held to acting accordingly.
Gender is not something that one has or something that one is; rather, it is something that one does.
Gender as Social Structure
Risman does not accept the criteria of nature as a way to distinguish behavior expectations.
She is especially upset by the field of sociobiology.
Gender as Social Structure
By assigning people to one or two categoriesmale or female– society has created difference between
them.
Risman feels that genders strongest influence is found at the interactional level, and therein lies the
deepest liability for the continuation of inequality in American family life
Relevancy
Feminism can be defined as a social movement and an ideology in support of the idea that a larger
share of scarce resources should be allocated to women. Feminist believe that women should enjoy
the same rights in society as men and that should share equity in society's opportunities.

The Search Engine Optimization ( Seo )
A URL (Uniform Resource Locator) is defined as human–readable text that is designed to be used in
place of IP addresses. Computers use these text–based addresses to communicate with servers.
Entering a URL in a web browser is the mechanism for retrieving an identified resource. A URL has
many important factors but perhaps the most important factor is its ease of discovery. Visitors on the
web have to be able to find a website based on the URL name. All major search engines (Google,
Bing, etc.) return search results extracted from millions of web pages based on what the search
engine considers to be most relevant to the user. Search results listed on a search engine are ranked
based on relevancy. How the content on a website coordinates with a URL is part of that ranking. A
search engine optimization (SEO) analyst's job is to find, attract and engage internet users. To make
sure a website is easily discoverable, a URL should be tailored to the content of the website. There
are a number of factors that should be considered when creating a URL and they will be discussed in
this report. A URL should allow the user or visitor to understand the subject matter of a website. A
URL should be brief, descriptive, straightforward and meaningful. A URL should have specific
keywords, not random numbers or punctuation marks that make it more difficult for the user or
visitor to recall. The structure of a URL is a fundamental part of determining how a website is
organized. For less complex

Regardless of the outcome on the petition to amend, we will not dismiss the current petition. We will
file the 850 petition and ask the court to stay this petition pending conclusion of the 850.
Accordingly, there is a petition and response filed. Further, Forthmann doesn't apply to this matter
all and it certainly doesn't apply now that a response has been filed. Forthmann only holds the
following: We therefore are satisfied, and do expressly hold, that the filing of a formal objection or
response is a necessary predicate to the conduct of any discovery with respect to the trustee's interim
accounting. Absent an objection or response, even if made only on information and belief, there is

The World Of The Age Of Medi Entertainment And Relevancy
Living in the Age of Media: Entertainment and Relevancy
The significant presence of electronic media has gradually become a crisis of society's
problems. Though it seems to go unnoticed by most, the obtainment of our information that we
are receiving is a mere means of entertainment thanks to the universalization of media and
television. Postman discusses the consequences of living in a technologically advanced age by
discussing four aspects of society that are most affected: the news, religion, politics, and
education. Society has shifted from words of reason and sensibility to the epitome of trivial
media content. The general overview of television is not what gives a problematic impression on
society, but it is the loss of purpose and truth within our programs that is transforming itself into
a form of show business.
Out of the four aspects of society, politics has had the most corrupted and negative effect
towards society. Politicians are unable to express intellectual knowledge on important issues and
instead of being treated as potential leaders, they are treated similarly to celebrities. For example,
take the most recent election and varied political commercials that were broadcasted. The
promotional margin of political figures is often taken as a means of self–interest, voting for the
'most–likeable' candidate. Gone are the days of understanding and voting for Republicans or
Democratic parties. Politics are devalued into forms of imagery,

Relevancy and Admissibilty of Evidence in Court
Essay on relevancy and admissibility of evidence in court: There are facts that are relevant to the
issue and can be proved. On the other end there are those facts which cannot be proved on the
ground that they are irrelevant to the issue. Such facts include the character of the accused and are
broken down into facts of character evidence, similar fact, previous consistent and evidence of
previous conviction. The general rule of law regarding the irrelevant facts is that they are
inadmissible. Character evidence is regarded as irrelevant fact and the general rule of law is that it is

To negate the accused's evidence, the court held that evidence of similar facts that former wives of
the accused had met their death in similar circumstances was admissible. Another exception where
similar fact is admissible is evidence to identify the accused or to show his participation in the crime
charged. For instance, In the case of R. v. Sebeso, 1943 A.D, the court held that evidence of the
proved association of the three accused in two of the three counts was admissible to rebut the alibis
on the other count and that the three committed the count. A previous consistent statement is a
written or oral statement made by a witness on an earlier occasion which corresponds with the
witness' account in court. The general rule about these statements is that they are inadmissible in
court. The reasons are that the statement can easily be manufactured and a resourceful witness can
repeat a lie as often as the truth to a number of peoplet. In the case of R. v. Roberts (1942).where the
accused was being charged with murdering a girlfriend by shooting her, two days after the shooting
he had told his father what his defence would be. In his defence he wanted the evidence of
conversation between him and his father to be adduced to rebut his defence but the judge disallowed
it on the ground that it amounted to no more than a previous consistent statement. The other

A Critical Analysis Of Futility And 21 Guns
As of 2015, 75% of people reportedly listen to music on a daily basis. In contrast, only a small 6.7%
of people read poetry yearly (Ingraham, 2015). These statistics prove poems are becoming outdated,
so to rectify this, I will be speaking about the relevancy of poems still to this day, by comparing it to
a contemporary song. Good morning Power of the Poem, the poem and song I will be comparing are
Futility and 21 Guns. Futility is a poem by the famous poet, Wilfred Owen. Wilfred illustrates a
comrade attempting to awake a fallen fellow soldier, however, as the title suggests, the attempt is
futile. The poem emphasises the pointlessness of war. Therefore to reinforce the relevancy of poems,
I will be comparing it to the song 21 Guns by Green Day. 21 Guns also talks about the
unnecessariness of war and repeatedly asks the reader the point of war to 'lay down their arms'.
Therefore, the theme of my poem and song is that war is gratuitous and unnecessary, therefore
fighting should cease because war is inessential. I will be explaining the relevancy of the poem,
Futility by describing the tone, language and sound devices used, and comparing it to the tone,
language, and sound devices in the song 21 Guns. The tone shown in Futility begins in the first
stanza as optimistic and hopeful, however this tone changes to negative and angry in the second
stanza. The first stanza being positive, evidentially shows the soldiers attempting to awaken their
comrade, have hope for the rising

Shakespeare's Othello: Cultural Relevancy
The play Othello, written and introduced by William Shakespeare, was interestingly written with the
influence of a short story written by Cinthio, a famous writer of the time. Cinthio's Moor depicted
certain cultural and historical aspects that were prevalent during the 17th century; for instance, one
of Cinthio's main points related culture and ethnicity and how they many allude to jealousy. William
Shakespeare, upon incorporating his own rendition of Cinthio's Moor, created and staged the play
Othello. Othello contains much of the same main themes and character tools and foils as does

Shakespeare incorporated this by setting up Othello(the "Moor") as the classical tragic hero; this
classical depiction of a tragic hero that is enforced upon Othello's characterization creates relevant

culture, regardless of background differences. Also, as Othello is depicted as the tragic hero of the
play, there must also naturally be a villainous character in order to show relevantly universal
character foils and contrasts, that character being Iago (the Moor's ensign and "honest" war partner).
Iago is portrayed throughout the entire story as the main villain; in fact, Iago is Shakespeare's most
evil villain ever created. Throughout the entirety of the plot, Iago deceives Othello as his jealousy
and strong sense of evil direct him to lead Othello to his unfortunate downfall as a tragic hero as he

You have asked me to analyze and determine whether the evidence that prosecution would like to
introduce at trial can be admitted based on the Federal Rules of Evidence. Pursuant to your request,
this memo includes my analysis, reasoning, and conclusions regarding the admissibility of such
evidence.
Statement of Facts
The defendant was prosecuted for the murder of his wife. The victim's body was never recovered, no
murder weapon was ever found, and there were no witnesses to the crime. At trial, prosecution
would like to introduce the following as evidence: 1. A computer disk, found in the defendant's desk,

See Fed. R. Evid. 403(2011). In order for it to meet the requirements to be excluded, the danger of
unfair prejudice, confusing the issues, the jury being misled, undue delay, time being wasted, or
unnecessary presentation of cumulative evidence has to greatly outweigh the probative value of the
evidence. If harm that is not related to the legal issue of the case will be done to a party by the
introduction of the evidence, then the evidence prejudicial. A fact often possesses both probative and
prejudicial effects, in which case it is then left up to the court to determine if the prejudicial effects
outweigh the probative value enough to exclude the evidence, or if the probative value of the
evidence outweighs the prejudicial effects enough to deem the evidence as admissible. Prejudicial
evidence tends to discredit the accused and make the jury dislike him/her more, and offers little or
no insight to the matter of the case or assistance in the search for the truth.
ANALYSIS ISSUE I
Is the computer disk that was found in the defendant's desk containing a file named "murder" which
appears to be a twenty six step guide on how to carry out a murder admissible evidence in this case?
Although this evidence does not necessarily prove that the defendant is guilty of murdering his wife,
it does have the tendency to prove that the defendant was interested in gaining the knowledge of

A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens
"A classic is a book that has never finished saying what is has to say" once said by Italo Calvino,
expresses that although numerous years could pass after a classic was written, a classic shall never
stop connecting to its readers. A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens is one such classic. The
historical drama is set in 1775, at the start of the American Revolution, where Lucie Manette is
reunited with her father Dr. Manette of Beauvais, after learning that he spent 18 years in a French
prison instead of being dead like she assumed he was. As the years past, the Manette family grows
to include Charles Darnay, Sydney Carton, and the ramifications of the French Revolution. Despite
being first published in 1859, A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens still remains relevant to the
readers of today. What creates relevancy in the novel are the powerful symbols which stand for the
harsh nature of society and desire, inspiring themes such as the necessity of sacrifice, and universal
applicable characters who reveal the subconscious routines found in humans.
The symbolism of the harsh nature of society and desire found in the novel establishes the creation
of relevancy in the novel. The character of Monseigneur the Marquis is the timeless symbol of a
cruel society. Marquis is an authority figure in France in 1780, and is responsible for the

A New Course By Magdalena Kay Essay
College, a universal, fundamental concept that the globe utilizes. Through a wide array of variations,
countries across the world have developed their own meaning of what higher education is. However,
the underlying tone of it all is the same, furthering one's knowledge. With a vast number of schools
from a broad range of locations trying to pull the population in, colleges compete with different
tactics ranging from education relevance to evaluation. Consequently, problems have arisen from
these approaches, addressed along the lines in an article called "A New Course" by Magdalena Kay,
an associate professor of English at the University of Victoria and an educational film, "Ivory
Tower" by Andrew Rossi, a graduate of Harvard and Yale University and a filmmaker. Furthermore,
these problems change the meaning of college itself, no longer seen as an education, but as a
commodity.
America's education system has been in a state of distress for the past decade, but garnished
headlines recently as the student loan debt crisis reached over a trillion dollars. In conjunction with
that, tuition is no longer the only obstacle a student faces when considering their future. As
generations come and go, universities have slowly, but surely, been angling their education in a way
to favor profit over knowledge. Because of the new direction higher education models are taking,
Magdalena Kay questions her readers, "is there a problem with students, with teachers, with
administrators, or maybe

Essay on Relevancy of the Voting Rights Act in Modern Times
Ratified in 1868, the fourteenth amendment guarantees equal protection of all persons under the law.
In the 1960's though, African Americans were still being discriminated against because of the color
of their skin. After the broadcast of 600 peaceful African Americans being attacked and beaten after
attempting to cross the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama, President Lynden Johnson
decided it was time to create some legislation to prevent incidences such as this from happening in
the future. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965 have been hailed as some
of "the most far–reaching bills on civil rights in modern times" (Schmidt et. al. 2010, 98). At that
time in history, they were exactly what the country ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One turning point in the campaign was when African–American students gathered in Kelly Ingram
Park to walk across the park. Hoses and dogs were let loose on the crowd, and the media captured it.
After the pictures and news stories were published, many people's opinions on the campaign
swayed. The second event that prompted Kennedy to move forward with the civil rights act was
George Wallace's refusal to integrate the University of Alabama. Then Governor of Alabama, he
stood outside the University, refusing to let two African–American students inside until the National
Guard was sent in. Feeling as though something needed to be done, Kennedy stepped in. The day
the Senate passed the Civil Rights Act bill, it was on the front page of the New York Times. The bill
had been passed by a vote 73 to 27, with 46 Democrats and 27 Republicans voting for it, and 21
Democrats and 6 Republicans voting against it. Although it had not yet passed the House, the
chairman and ranking minority member of the House Judiciary Committee said that they would
accept the Senate version of the bill which "With the support of these two men, who were
responsible for the House bill, acceptance of the Senate bill in the House is assured" (Kenworthy).
The bill did pass the house, and Lyndon B. Johnson signed the bill into law on July 2, 1964. This bill

Learning Commons And The Campus Community
Abstract
Academic libraries have begun an evolution of new services to increase relevancy among the
campus community. Some of the motivations behind the change include appealing to student, staff,
and faculty to improve library usage and perception. Several academic libraries have adapted and
taken the initiative to create learning commons or other services with space available within the
library. Choosing how to utilize library space to benefit the library is an important consideration
among academic libraries. For instance, space available in the library is one consideration in the
adaption of new services. Recently, academic libraries have incorporated using information and
learning commons. Libraries that have adapted a learning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Choosing how to manage library space and services involves planning and budgeting to have the
necessary resources to bring about a new service. Learning commons are one solution that some
academic libraries have started to adopt in order to increase their usage and relevancy. By creating a
learning commons, academic libraries can help solidify their place among the campus community.
Relationship building, interdepartmental planning, and services such as tutoring, writing centers,
and various other student learning services can be located within the library's designated learning
common area. This paper presents learning commons as a possible solution to increase library
relevancy and usage in academic libraries.
Literature Review
In the early 2000s, there was a switch from teaching and to learning philosophies that lead to the
creation of labeling and commons models within academic libraries (Turner, Welch, & Reynolds,
2013). Library space began to be allocated for new library services such as commons; a decline of
users resulted with the increased reliance on electronic resources versus physical resources available
to students and the campus community. While not having yet incorporated a learning commons into
their system, some academic libraries have still begun to evolve and offer new services not
traditionally offered. (Massis, 2010). Forrest (2012) argues:
The academic library commons is a place where people and technologies

The Role Of Relevancy In The Context Of Clinical Practice
Before going through the module, I thought asking the patients about their personal lives and
emotions might seem intrusive and unprofessional at some level. I have heard about the
multifactorial effects on illnesses, but personally had no idea how important it would be in the
context of clinical practice. Being a patient at some point in my life, I recall how uncomfortable I
felt when my doctor asked about my life rather than relevant questions about my symptoms. I would
then tried to avoid the conversation and answer those questions as if they were close–ended
questions. Relevancy is the key and it's very subjective. A physician's determination of relevancy
might not align with the patient's perspective on the questions being asked.

Why Is Shakespeare Relevant Today
Shakespeare is arguably the greatest playwriter that has lived and although he died more than four
hundred years ago he is able to live on through his plays and poems that continue to be performed
today. Shakespeare has a universal reach with his plays and works intended for any audience that are
entertaining but also include important lessons. There are arguments that his relevancy is no longer,
but perhaps with evidence provided people will be able to see his works are more relevant now than
ever. Without further study and only taking a Shakespearian play for face value there are already
characteristics that make his works so timeless. The setting, stories, and characters all seem familiar
when they are watched and sometimes the characters seem to reflect one's self. The story of Romeo
and Juliet, for example, is one of love and passion for two star crossed lovers who desire nothing
more than to be together. For some this may be an over romanticised fantasy, but others ... Show

More than that is the language he uses as well as the words and phrases he created that are still being
used today. Studying Shakespearian works is not only about analyzing story elements or archetypal
patterns but also learning where language that is being used comes from. A history class teaches
students how people got to Canada and what historical events have affected the way life is today. In
a very similar way the study of Shakespeare is a history lesson on literature and vocabulary. Rather
than teaching how Canadian culture was developed it is teaching how the English language was
further developed. For some students there might be a feeling of disheartenment or hot–bloodedness
when they arrive at the realization that these eventful plays must continue being studied but, in order
to understand the language they use that Shakespeare created they must look at how it is used and
where these terms came

Relevancy of Institutional Theory for Managers.
Institutional theory is one the most renowned theoretical approaches to internationalization process
of firms. From the 70s, there have been publications supporting and developing this theory by
researchers such as Di Maggio, Powell, Scott, Meyer or Rowan. Nonetheless, some other alternative
theories, such as OLI paradigm or TCE model, have also proven themselves quite significant.
Shortell and Kalunzy (2000, p. 24) state that organizations must face certain external factors such
"external or societal norms, rules, and requirements that an organization must conform to, in order to

Since the year 2000, according to a report written by the United Nations (2013), FDI going to
BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) has tripled reaching an amount of
$263 billions in 2012. This amount represents 20% of FDI in the world. Moreover, Hall (1976)
states that there are certain countries that can be described as High–context cultures that are based in
interpersonal relationships. Those are countries where factors like trust or legitimacy are crucial for
business and BRICS are considered as high–context countries. Therefore, firms need to gain
legitimacy in order to operate in those markets and Institutional provides an excellent theoretical
framework for defining success in those markets. Nonetheless, it cannot be assumed that firms just
comply with external pressures in order to gain legitimacy. Di Maggio (1988) argues that agents and
organizations have their own interests and have the ability to implement strategic actions in order to
fulfil their ambitions. Scott (1995) also states that companies and organisations do not react in a
passive way to institutional environment and they behave actively. Araujo (2000) determines that,
although organisations are under external pressures, companies will decide their own response to the
environment. Hence,

Engaging The Adult Learner For Adult Learners
Engaging the Adult Learner
Jeffery Collins
COLL100 B100 Fall 14

Dr. Gibson Engaging the Adult Learner
Engaging adults during the learning process is an action that encompasses the use of skills to
conquer their concentration and interest. The engagement is performed to ensure the adult learners
will immediately identify with the information and the objective of the teaching. Once the
identification and objectivity is formed learning is able to proceed. Therefore, the engagement
process for adult learners must be unique and display sensitivity in an effort to achieve learning.
Moreover, it is necessary for adults to know their efforts put towards lifelong learning will have
meaningful value later.
Engaging
The overreaching goal of engagement during the instructional process is to achieve learning (J.J
Keller & Associates, n.d.). Learning is the process by which a new skillset or information is
acquired through review, practical exercise, and experience to name a few producing understanding
or skillfulness (Merriam–Webster, n.d.). In an effort to facilitate learning during engagement of the
adult learner, considerations should be applied and adjusted if needed to the presentation of the
material which contributes to optimal learning. Optimal learning for the adult provides for
engagement and allows retention of knowledge to transpire which is impacted by the training
approach of the instructor (Kelly, 2006). The instructor's teaching

Relevancy of Oedipus in Today's Society Essay
Relevancy of Oedipus in Today's Society
Oedipus the King, written by Sophocles around 430 BC, is one of, if not the most, important and
influential tragedy ever written. It became the base for most of the tragedies written since. In spite of
the fact that some of the story line may seem a little out of place now, parallels can be very easily
drawn with the present time. Even though it was written over 2000 years ago, Oedipus the King is
still fitting and applicable in today's society. In ancient Greece, the people believed that the gods
already decided upon their fates and destinies. They believed that nothing that they could do could
change them, no matter what they do (Fagles, 152). Oedipus tried to change what he knew ... Show

He is calmer, and seems to "see" things better now that he is blind. Things like this happen all the
time now. Sophocles' "development of character is richly complex. Instead of relying on the extreme
situations and exaggerated actions that earlier tragedians used, Sophocles created powerfully
motivated characters who even today fascinate wudiences with their psychological depth (Meyer,
981). People change their personalities and lifestyles based on the influences and suggestions of
others. Unmotivated changes are subtler and not very noticeable all at once. They tend to happen
over time. These tend to happen from others indirectly, such as dressing similar, talking similar, etc.
Finally, the way in which Oedipus the King can be perceived as universal the best is in character
traits that are alike in both modern people and Oedipus himself. Oedipus is a very stubborn person.
He believes that Tiresias has not told him the truth and was sent by Creon to lie to him, even after
Tiresias proves that he can actually see into the future. Modern day people can also be very
stubborn, especially if they know or think that they are wrong about something. Oedipus also shows
great intelligence. He saved the entire city of Thebes by answering the Sphinx's riddle and his
reward was the crown and the queen's hand in marriage (Meyer, 987). He ruled the city fairly and
justly, and shows his intelligence once again when he

The arguments against the existence of volitions is strong and the question as to whether they exist
or not is not answered. The Actus Reus requirement of the Criminal Law is a complex act, and the
border with the Mens Rea and Actus Reus is blurred because it is difficult to see where in fact the
border is, due to the intimate and necessary connection between them both. Also there is the issue
that the Actus Reus has it's own mental element , namely that there be the necessary will to commit
the offence. Mens Rea intention though is a sort of volition and is different in that there are more
subdivisions within it . There is also the matter of this particular intention not being from simply
objects but for the complex objects of some criminal statute. Negligence is a problematic area and
also causes heart–ache to the theorists and in law is classed as a fault element. The important
practical matter though is how the judge and jury will view a particular case – theory then becomes
a minor issue as subjective judgment decides the issue. The law sees the Mens Rea in its technical
meaning and "refers to whatever state of mind is required by the offence." 3 These theoretical and
practical issues have upset feminists who see such matters as the battered woman syndrome as being
originally more involved with diminished responsibility, as well as the more obvious use in
provocation.

today cannot do much about the past especially if they were not born during this time. Either way
this passage has positive value because even those who do not believe may have one heard of how
God created the world. With that knowledge they were able judge on weather they believed this or
had another idea on how this happened. Exodus 20 is when God gives the Ten Commandments

righteous life. Although these were written so long ago they have so much value for people today. I
not only say this as a Christian but I say this as a citizen of the United States. This passage is so
significant because even though who do no believe in the lord generally abide by these laws. These

History, Philosophy And Miscellaneous Works
Literature Review
Libraries have a long history towards the ancient world as places used to keep important records
such as clay tablets, transcripts and many texts. Many records were destroyed in the course of wars
or purposely by some rulers with the changes in government. As a result, writing of literature as well
as record keeping was encouraged where classification schemes were initiated to preserve those
records of all times. The first formal classification was categorizing the writings into four types, the
classics, history, philosophy and miscellaneous works. (Library, 2016). However, these broad
categories didn't help much in guiding to access the increasing collection. The result was,
introducing Dewey Decimal Classification as a scheme for the classification of the documents/
materials. (Library, 2016).
Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC)
DDC was an invention of Melvil Dewey in 1876. He was an Assistant Librarian at Amherst College
when he published DDC as "A Classification and subject index for cataloging and arranging the
books pamphlets of a library". (Yoon, J. 2014). The system was formulated to organize the contents
of the library based on the subject areas divided into 10 main groups where each group is given 100
numbers. For example, Religion belongs in 200 – 299. (DDC, 2016). This numerical classification
gives identification for the item as well as a location tool which ensures the books under the same
subject are kept together in a common area. (Wiercioch,

The 's Contingency Model Has Lost Its Relevancy I Today 's...
Gusmond, I agree with you that Fiedler's Contingency Model has lost its relevancy I today's work
environment. (Robbins, Judge, and Campbell, 2009). Fiedler believing that our natural leadership
style is fixed and the most effective way to handle situations is to change the leader (Fiedler, 1967)
would create a constant revolving–door at most businesses today, in my opinion. In lesson 6 –
Leadership, we read that "Fiedler proposed a model whereby leaders are classified in terms of
whether they were more task–oriented or relationship–oriented." With the study of organizational
behavior expanding, I would tend to think as a society we're much more relationship–oriented today
than ever before. The value placed highly by generational employees is probably more different than
it's ever been before as well.
If you're managing a group of young parents, the need for a work–home balance would be much
greater than if you were managing a group of older employees who didn't have lots of time
commitments and various directions to be pulled in when the work day was done. As an effective
leader, being cognizant and having the maturity to gauge what your group is saying, either directly
or indirectly, and being flexible enough to make the appropriate changes within your leadership
style would be paramount for success today. Otherwise you'd be looking for a new job more often

  • 1. Minority Population Relevancy Minority Population Relevancy As with many things pertaining to mental health and minorities, there is substantial lack information on how Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD) is specifically relevant to minority populations. Often signs or symptoms of this disorder are overlooked or misdiagnosed due in part to varying emphases on the role of parent/child interactions in different cultures and ethnicities. It is known that regardless of upbringing, "an infant's motivation and behavior are thought to be primarily instinctual and unconscious, early experiences provide the framework for what will become the unconscious mind in adulthood" (Hardy, 2007, p. 29). The rapidly changing ethnic and racial landscape of America has not taken into consideration ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... RAD is a disorder that can have extreme consequences for not only the child/adult diagnosed with the disorder, but also for the negative effect it will have on those in future relationships with this individual. Being aware of risk factors and symptoms of RAD can help the client in receiving the correct diagnosis. While the ability to properly identify and diagnose RAD has not been perfected, it is vital to interventions being effective. Research and knowledge surrounding RAD is still new to the field and therefore treatment is still not concrete. However, it is important that RAD continue to be researched because of the social repercussions individuals with RAD face later in life. The inability to form healthy relationships can hinder an individual's chances of overall success. Personal, professional, and societal relationships are all affected by RAD and what little research exists to support cultural differences in RAD shows that minorities are at greater risk. Treatment for this disorder has proven to be more effective with earlier intervention involving both the caregiver and the child. For the betterment of our communities and societal mental health, it is concluded that more research needs to be conducted and that the result could include better treatments and healthier ... • 3. The Relevancy of Ethnomusicology to the Study of British... The Relevancy of Ethnomusicology to the Study of British Folk Music Ethnomusicology has an image problem. Insofar as anyone has heard of ethnomusicologists at all, there is a fairly common feeling (and not unjustified, bearing in mind what ethnomusicologists collectively seem to do) that ethnomusicology is, exclusively, the study of non–Western musics. Actually, this isn't so. Ethnomusicologists study Western traditions also, albeit not in huge numbers in Britain – but even here, our sparseness in the study of local traditions is probably no more marked than our sparseness in the study of overseas traditions. (There are just two British ethnomusicologists who work on Chinese music, for instance, which means that we have something ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The point of all these terms was that the investigator sought to understand the topic from the perspective of the native 'informant'. The ethnomusicologist was as interested in, say, an Egyptian's 'musicology' – i.e., his explanations and understandings of music – as in his music itself. Adoption of the term signalled a departure from previous research, where it had often been assumed that there was no native theory. The comparative musicologist (or at least his caricature) had simply (or not so simply, when we think of old recording technology) remained in his laboratory where he amassed an archive of wax cylinders and the like. Sitting down (in an armchair, according to most stereotypes) he (less often, she) then wrote out the music and studied the resulting notation in order to produce theories about what was going on. The ethnomusicologist, on the other hand, is himself (and more and more, herself) a collector as well as an analyst. The model of collection, however, was not that of earlier scholars like Cecil Sharp, Percy Grainger or Bela Bartok. Rather than ranging widely, but quickly, across a broad region, the ethnomusicologist was supposed to gather materials through 'participant–observation'. Instead of gathering recordings alone, the ethnomusicological researcher gathered experience, both in the form of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Critically Analyzing Sources for Research During college, students should be able to research and analyze their sources. It is an important life skill. By using the ability to research, they can find articles with credible, reliable, and relevant information to get the best and dependable research. People who use these techniques will find each of these components essential to the authenticity of an article. These skills would be able to help students and researchers discover trustworthy and reliable sources. Each of the different components in a quality research makes it solid and dependable. Credibility is how believable or truthful the research, and whether the researchers have the credentials to do research in that area. Reliability is the reputation of the article's source, and if the authors considered any biases. Relevancy is how current the article is or how important it is now. Students conducting research in college need to be able to critically analyze sources for credibility, relevancy, and reliability in order to determine their usefulness in a research paper. The first step in finding a credible article is looking for credentials and qualifications of the authors. Each of the three authors of this article has the credentials and qualifications to write about this subject. The three researchers of this article are Zhengchuan Xu, Qing Hu, and Chenghong Zhang. • 5. Paid Search: A Case Study While the use of SKAGs (Single Keyword Ad Groups) is gaining in use, we have neglected another important aspect of control in Paid Search accounts. Due to the lack of a quantifier like quality score for keywords and ads, the ability and concern to manipulate a single location within a targeted area of a campaign has been overlooked. While demographics play an important part in the optimization of return on investment, location optimization is for the most part automated. We can set location bid adjustments, include and exclude locations, but lack the ability to fully control ad spends in a specific market without generalization. I propose the use and process of separating out markets by the most specific location to fully quantify the data given to us by platforms. This practice further complements the ability to regain control of what you are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ad extensions continue to push the barrier for relevancy however, they are being limited in use because of locations that are not fully adjustable within the same campaign. The use of single location ad campaigns also increases the ability and ease of relevancy when customizing ad copy that an Ad group cannot control. What may work for one side of a large city may not work for another. This same thought applies to content. Certain zip codes or cities may benefit from being targeted by a Display Select campaign while others degrade in performance. Important and location specific factors like area codes and phone numbers further impact click through rates for features such as call and message extensions which allow control down to the ad group level, however you cannot target locations at an ad group level which renders this feature useless when appealing to your target audience. Only by splitting these out by specific locations will you be able to regain control and further testing with accurate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A comparison of the types of screening tool administration methods used for the detection of intimate partner violence: a systematic review and meta–analysis. Trauma Violence Abuse, 16(1), 60–69. doi: 10.1177/1524838013515759 The authors of this recently published review paper studied the outcomes of six randomized control trials. These trails used several tools for screening to identify Intimate partner violence. Specifically, they were interested in examining the rates of intimate partner violence disclosure among adult women when computer– 18 assisted, self–assisted, and face–to–face interview screening were used to disclose intimate partner violence. There were no significant differences in the outcomes of the study when compared to studying the women who were screened face–to–face than those that used self–administered screenings. The studies did show however, that studies which used a computer– assisted screening tool had greater odds of disclosure more than the face–to–face interviews. Given the sensitivities of disclosing intimate partner violence, this data suggests methods by which screening women may be advantageous. This study relevancy is important due to the data on the research on the best participants in a study on victims of intimate partner violence. Lacey, Krim K ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She drivingly outlined the issues that Coretta Scott King fought for throughout her life, Angelou did so in a way that allowed those listening to feel connected to King. Angelou makes it clear that King's life was one of great importance. She delivered the information in a relevant and important way. Her use of relevancy, audience connections, and humor allowed her to deliver the eulogy meaningfully. Audience Connection is essential when delivering a speech, Angelou mastered the technique as seen in this speech. Angelou (2008) opens the Eulogy with a popular hymnal, "I open my mouth to the Lord and I won't turn back, no. I will go, I shall go. I'll see what the end is gonna be.". This allowed her to make a connection with the audience. Many people knew this hymnal; therefore, they felt as if she is one of them. Angelou (2008) went on to say "Those of us who gather here, principalities, presidents, senators, those of us who run great companies, who know something about being parents, who know something about being preachers and teachers – those of us..". "Those of us" referred to everyone in the audience, Angelou (2008) was including everyone and in doing so she was making an audience connection. Angelou (2008) then said " we owe something from this minute on; so that this gathering is not just another footnote on the pages of history. We owe something.". No one wants to believe that their actions will be forgotten. By this point in the speech Angelou had already made an audience connection and by doing so has allowed for a call to action. This call to action is a very important part of the speech because it developed relevancy in a way that was consequential. One tool that Angelou used while giving the eulogy was relevancy. Following the hymnal, Angelou (2008) begins by saying "In the midst of national tumult, in the medium of international violent uproar.." Violent uproar is all around, which makes this quote from the speech incredibly relevant. The entire Eulogy by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. The Search Engine Optimization ( Seo ) A URL (Uniform Resource Locator) is defined as human–readable text that is designed to be used in place of IP addresses. Computers use these text–based addresses to communicate with servers. Entering a URL in a web browser is the mechanism for retrieving an identified resource. A URL has many important factors but perhaps the most important factor is its ease of discovery. Visitors on the web have to be able to find a website based on the URL name. All major search engines (Google, Bing, etc.) return search results extracted from millions of web pages based on what the search engine considers to be most relevant to the user. Search results listed on a search engine are ranked based on relevancy. How the content on a website coordinates with a URL is part of that ranking. A search engine optimization (SEO) analyst's job is to find, attract and engage internet users. To make sure a website is easily discoverable, a URL should be tailored to the content of the website. There are a number of factors that should be considered when creating a URL and they will be discussed in this report. A URL should allow the user or visitor to understand the subject matter of a website. A URL should be brief, descriptive, straightforward and meaningful. A URL should have specific keywords, not random numbers or punctuation marks that make it more difficult for the user or visitor to recall. The World Of The Age Of Medi Entertainment And Relevancy Living in the Age of Media: Entertainment and Relevancy The significant presence of electronic media has gradually become a crisis of society's problems. Though it seems to go unnoticed by most, the obtainment of our information that we are receiving is a mere means of entertainment thanks to the universalization of media and television. Postman discusses the consequences of living in a technologically advanced age by discussing four aspects of society that are most affected: the news, religion, politics, and education. Society has shifted from words of reason and sensibility to the epitome of trivial media content. The general overview of television is not what gives a problematic impression on society, but it is the loss of purpose and truth within our programs that is transforming itself into a form of show business. Out of the four aspects of society, politics has had the most corrupted and negative effect towards society. Politicians are unable to express intellectual knowledge on important issues and instead of being treated as potential leaders, they are treated similarly to celebrities. For example, take the most recent election and varied political commercials that were broadcasted. Another exception where similar fact is admissible is evidence to identify the accused or to show his participation in the crime charged. For instance, In the case of R. v. Sebeso, 1943 A.D, the court held that evidence of the proved association of the three accused in two of the three counts was admissible to rebut the alibis on the other count and that the three committed the count. A previous consistent statement is a written or oral statement made by a witness on an earlier occasion which corresponds with the witness' account in court. In contrast, only a small 6.7% of people read poetry yearly (Ingraham, 2015). These statistics prove poems are becoming outdated, so to rectify this, I will be speaking about the relevancy of poems still to this day, by comparing it to a contemporary song. Good morning Power of the Poem, the poem and song I will be comparing are Futility and 21 Guns. Futility is a poem by the famous poet, Wilfred Owen. Wilfred illustrates a comrade attempting to awake a fallen fellow soldier, however, as the title suggests, the attempt is futile. The poem emphasises the pointlessness of war. Therefore to reinforce the relevancy of poems, I will be comparing it to the song 21 Guns by Green Day. 21 Guns also talks about the unnecessariness of war and repeatedly asks the reader the point of war to 'lay down their arms'. Therefore, the theme of my poem and song is that war is gratuitous and unnecessary, therefore fighting should cease because war is inessential. I will be explaining the relevancy of the poem, Futility by describing the tone, language and sound devices used, and comparing it to the tone, language, and sound devices in the song 21 Guns. The tone shown in Futility begins in the first stanza as optimistic and hopeful, however this tone changes to negative and angry in the second stanza. A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens is one such classic. The historical drama is set in 1775, at the start of the American Revolution, where Lucie Manette is reunited with her father Dr. Manette of Beauvais, after learning that he spent 18 years in a French prison instead of being dead like she assumed he was. As the years past, the Manette family grows to include Charles Darnay, Sydney Carton, and the ramifications of the French Revolution. With a vast number of schools from a broad range of locations trying to pull the population in, colleges compete with different tactics ranging from education relevance to evaluation. Journal of Palliative Medicine, 15(10), 1120–1123. doi:10.1089/jpm.2011.0530 Summary Casarett, Spence, Clark, Shield, and Teno (2012) outline the unique safety needs and concerns of the hospice population and why a culture of safety specific to hospice care is needed. Safety measures from other healthcare settings can cause conflicts, decrease quality of care and cause problems for hospice patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals (Casarett et al., 2012). • 30. Engaging The Adult Learner For Adult Learners Engaging the Adult Learner Jeffery Collins COLL100 B100 Fall 14 American Military University Dr. Gibson Engaging the Adult Learner Engaging adults during the learning process is an action that encompasses the use of skills to conquer their concentration and interest. The engagement is performed to ensure the adult learners will immediately identify with the information and the objective of the teaching. Once the identification and objectivity is formed learning is able to proceed. Therefore, the engagement process for adult learners must be unique and display sensitivity in an effort to achieve learning. Moreover, it is necessary for adults to know their efforts put towards lifelong learning will have meaningful value later. Engaging The overreaching goal of engagement during the instructional process is to achieve learning (J.J Keller & Associates, n.d.). Learning is the process by which a new skillset or information is acquired through review, practical exercise, and experience to name a few producing understanding or skillfulness (Merriam–Webster, n.d.). In an effort to facilitate learning during engagement of the adult learner, considerations should be applied and adjusted if needed to the presentation of the material which contributes to optimal learning. Optimal learning for the adult provides for engagement and allows retention of knowledge to transpire which is impacted by the training approach of the instructor (Kelly, 2006). • 31. Relevancy of Oedipus in Today's Society Essay Relevancy of Oedipus in Today's Society Oedipus the King, written by Sophocles around 430 BC, is one of, if not the most, important and influential tragedy ever written. It became the base for most of the tragedies written since. In spite of the fact that some of the story line may seem a little out of place now, parallels can be very easily drawn with the present time. Even though it was written over 2000 years ago, Oedipus the King is still fitting and applicable in today's society. In ancient Greece, the people believed that the gods already decided upon their fates and destinies. They believed that nothing that they could do could change them, no matter what they do (Fagles, 152). Oedipus tried to change what he knew ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He is calmer, and seems to "see" things better now that he is blind. Things like this happen all the time now. Sophocles' "development of character is richly complex. Instead of relying on the extreme situations and exaggerated actions that earlier tragedians used, Sophocles created powerfully motivated characters who even today fascinate wudiences with their psychological depth (Meyer, 981). People change their personalities and lifestyles based on the influences and suggestions of others. Unmotivated changes are subtler and not very noticeable all at once. They tend to happen over time. These tend to happen from others indirectly, such as dressing similar, talking similar, etc. Finally, the way in which Oedipus the King can be perceived as universal the best is in character traits that are alike in both modern people and Oedipus himself. Oedipus is a very stubborn person. He believes that Tiresias has not told him the truth and was sent by Creon to lie to him, even after Tiresias proves that he can actually see into the future. Modern day people can also be very stubborn, especially if they know or think that they are wrong about something. Oedipus also shows great intelligence. He saved the entire city of Thebes by answering the Sphinx's riddle and his reward was the crown and the queen's hand in marriage (Meyer, 987). He ruled the city fairly and justly, and shows his intelligence once again when he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Relevancy of Diminished Responsibility Essay The Relevancy of Diminished Responsibility Diminished Responsibility (In the USA it is called Diminished Capacity) is used to reduce the charge of Murder to Manslaughter thus allowing the judge more discretion in sentencing. To many the idea of a person having diminished responsibility to a crime is a problem at an emotional and rational level : after all we often do not agree what the mind is ! Some see the defence as a conspiracy of the legal and medical professions to release increasingly guilty offenders into the community and that this conspiracy is driven by money and socialists. The arguments against the existence of volitions is strong and the question as to whether they exist or not is not answered. The Actus Reus requirement of the Criminal Law is a complex act, and the border with the Mens Rea and Actus Reus is blurred because it is difficult to see where in fact the border is, due to the intimate and necessary connection between them both. Also there is the issue that the Actus Reus has it's own mental element , namely that there be the necessary will to commit the offence. Mens Rea intention though is a sort of volition and is different in that there are more subdivisions within it . There is also the matter of this particular intention not being from simply objects but for the complex objects of some criminal statute. Negligence is a problematic area and also causes heart–ache to the theorists and in law is classed as a fault element. The important practical matter though is how the judge and jury will view a particular case – theory then becomes a minor issue as subjective judgment decides the issue. The law sees the Mens Rea in its technical meaning and "refers to whatever state of mind is required by the offence." 3 These theoretical and practical issues have upset feminists who see such matters as the battered woman syndrome as being originally more involved with diminished responsibility, as well as the more obvious use in provocation. ... • 33. Old Testament : Relevancy Today Old Testament: Relevancy Today Though the Old Testament can be thought provoking, in my opinion most stories have value weather you believe in God or not. These parables display relevancy in the life of believers and non–believers from when they were written, all the way to today. Reading the bible can be difficult because it is seen as a sacred text and those who believe must be in agreement with the word. Some people just as me may hold the bible to a higher standard because of our faith in God. Others may see this text as irrelevant and offensive because they have no reason to believe it. People today cannot do much about the past especially if they were not born during this time. Either way this passage has positive value because even those who do not believe may have one heard of how God created the world. With that knowledge they were able judge on weather they believed this or had another idea on how this happened. Exodus 20 is when God gives the Ten Commandments orally to the people. I choose this passage specifically because it discussed the rules on how to live a righteous life. Although these were written so long ago they have so much value for people today. I not only say this as a Christian but I say this as a citizen of the United States. This passage is so significant because even though who do no believe in the lord generally abide by these laws. These laws are not only written in the bible but some of these are constitute of the country and that is why they are so important. "You shall not kill" you do not have to be a believer to know that this is wrong and to know that you will be punished if you commit this action. Unlike, Birdman, which was set in New York. The movie Birdman had a different way of filming it, with techniques to make it seem like it was done in all one shot. Kind of how Raymond Carver's story seemed to only have had one shot throughout the whole story. The film Birdman it seems to show the different ideas and beliefs of many things that people care about, including what it means to be relevant. Some people care more about it than others and in Carver's story, it explains the many different ideas of what love is. Everyone has a different interpretation of what love can look or be like. Love is the main theme in both Birdman and the Raymond Carver story. However, for Birdman the love that is depicted throughout the film is shown in many different forms, including self love and relevancy. • 35. History, Philosophy And Miscellaneous Works Literature Review Libraries have a long history towards the ancient world as places used to keep important records such as clay tablets, transcripts and many texts. Many records were destroyed in the course of wars or purposely by some rulers with the changes in government. As a result, writing of literature as well as record keeping was encouraged where classification schemes were initiated to preserve those records of all times. The first formal classification was categorizing the writings into four types, the classics, history, philosophy and miscellaneous works. (Library, 2016). However, these broad categories didn't help much in guiding to access the increasing collection. The result was, introducing Dewey Decimal Classification as a scheme for the classification of the documents/ materials. (Library, 2016). Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) DDC was an invention of Melvil Dewey in 1876. He was an Assistant Librarian at Amherst College when he published DDC as "A Classification and subject index for cataloging and arranging the books pamphlets of a library". (Yoon, J. 2014). The system was formulated to organize the contents of the library based on the subject areas divided into 10 main groups where each group is given 100 numbers. For example, Religion belongs in 200 – 299. (DDC, 2016). This numerical classification gives identification for the item as well as a location tool which ensures the books under the same subject are kept together in a common area. (Wiercioch, ... • 38. The 's Contingency Model Has Lost Its Relevancy I Today 's... Gusmond, I agree with you that Fiedler's Contingency Model has lost its relevancy I today's work environment. (Robbins, Judge, and Campbell, 2009). Fiedler believing that our natural leadership style is fixed and the most effective way to handle situations is to change the leader (Fiedler, 1967) would create a constant revolving–door at most businesses today, in my opinion. In lesson 6 – Leadership, we read that "Fiedler proposed a model whereby leaders are classified in terms of whether they were more task–oriented or relationship–oriented." With the study of organizational behavior expanding, I would tend to think as a society we're much more relationship–oriented today than ever before. The value placed highly by generational employees is probably more different than it's ever been before as well. If you're managing a group of young parents, the need for a work–home balance would be much greater than if you were managing a group of older employees who didn't have lots of time commitments and various directions to be pulled in when the work day was done. As an effective leader, being cognizant and having the maturity to gauge what your group is saying, either directly or indirectly, and being flexible enough to make the appropriate changes within your leadership style would be paramount for success today. Otherwise you'd be looking for a new job more often than you'd actually be leading. "For those who serve well as deacons gain a good standing for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 40. Relevancy Of Fleece Ceremony Thank you for your post on Dave Earley's thoughts on "fleece" praying and its relevancy in the Church Age today. In order to understand the relevancy of "fleece" praying, believers must understand the purpose of praying. Richard J. Foster shares, "Of all spiritual disciplines, prayer is the most central because it ushers us into perpetual communion with the Father" (1998, 33). Prayer is a communication with our heavenly Father. Jesus shared with the disciples a simple, but powerful interactive prayer with his disciples. He stated, "Pray then in this way: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done..." (Matt. 6:9). I agree with you wholeheartedly, "God will not answer prayers that are not a part of his will ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
