A Scar to Remember
New York City, summer of 2007, I got out of the car and inhaled the stale air. I rushed to the
entrance with my luggage and opened the door of the washed out red sky–high building. After my
family and I entered the building and we serenely walked over to the elevator and I pushed the
button until it flashed luminous red. I was thrilled I was going to see my cousins after such a long
time. The last time we were together was when I used to live there. We moved to Massachusetts
when I was two years old. I was wondering what this place had in store for me and if this is going to
be the best summer vacation or not. But what will happen to me became a scar that will always be
with me forever. The bell went off and the elevator doors opened on the sixth floor. I took a left and
went straight until I saw the door that opened to their apartment. I knocked on the door extremely
exhilarated feeling like my head would pop off my neck. When my aunt unlocked and opened up the
door, she saw us and was utterly shocked. "SURPRISE!" She came out of the apartment and gave all
of us a hug as well as our cousins and after welcomed us into their home. My cousin asks me "Why
did you suddenly come to New York?" I verbalized "Why you don't want us here?" She then replied
"No that is not what I meant." "We traveled here because as you know it is summer break and we
thought about visiting you and, wanted to give you a massive surprise." The last day of

Starwood Hotels Mission and Current Performance A) A vision statement needs to include what the
company wants to become. In Starwood's vision statement the vision is vague. They are not in the

Vacation Vs My Dream Vacation
My Typical Vacation vs. My Dream Vacation
I take a vacation every year, and every year it's the same thing – a week of camping at a campground
one hour from our home. But I dream of a vacation in which I take a cruise to some exotic location
or stay at an all–inclusive resort on an island where I can be pampered and thrilled at the same time.
Both of these vacations are good, and both certainly offer me time away from work in which I can
have a respite from impending deadlines, a demanding boss, and grumbling clients. In addition, both
can even offer me the outdoor time soaking up the natural world my spirit seems to need. And to be
clear, family memories, which are so important to me, can be made on both vacations. Yet, the
differences between my dream vacation and my typical camping vacation are distinct, which is why
I still yearn for that dream vacation that I have yet to take.
To begin with, both vacations are different in purpose. We go camping because it is inexpensive;
raising children costs money, and camping is an inexpensive yet fun way for us to make family
memories yet still afford things for the children like nice clothes, extracurricular activities like
football and piano lessons, and fun activities like going bowling with friends. The cost of a camping
vacation is minimal, particularly if we use the same supplies year after year. We sleep on the ground
in a tent we have used for ten years. We cook our own food over a campfire, and our daily

National Lampoon's: Christmas Vacation
National Lampoon's: Christmas Vacation: A Worthy Classic Comedy
In the film Christmas Vacation, there is a hilarious scene when Clark Griswold "played by Chevy
Chase" and his family are out finding the perfect Christmas tree. They come across what Clark
believes to be the family tree, but the family worries about the tree being too big. Clark reassures
them that the tree isn't big, it's just full. Rusty worries about the tree not fitting anywhere, Clark tells
Rusty the tree is not going to go anywhere but in Griswold's living room. After all this time spent
finding the perfect tree, a huge tree with the roots still attached is shown on top of the Griswold
station wagon because Clark forgets to bring the saw. This scene paves the way for ... Show more

(qtd. in LeDonne), Chevy Chase states, "Then the turkey, looking like that: "Here 's the heart!"
[Laughs] It 's just wonderful, because it 's not so outlandish,"(qtd. in LeDonne). In other words,
Chevy is saying Murphy 's law, that anything can go wrong will during the holidays. This makes
Christmas Vacation easier to laugh at because, the film captured the true essence of what some
families go through during the holiday season.
The back–to–back humorous unexpected scenes keep the audience on their toes meanwhile, waiting
to see what disaster awaits. Trumbore is right when he states," It's one of the best running gags in
comedy movie history and Hughes gets such versatility out of it, but it's still only one example of
the humor present in this movie", I agree with the statement Trumbore makes when he talks about
the squirrel scene because there are many funny unexpected scenes that arise. Trumbore says, "Clark
forgetting the saw and ripping the tree out by the roots," is one of the beginning hilarious scene in
the film that shows the audience what they're in store for in the rest of the film. In Trumbore 's
article, he states, "Snot the dog drinking tree water and the resulting drying out of the tree leading to
it bursting into flames", ensuring the film has more than enough comedy scenes to make the
audience laugh.
Some critics may say that the untidiness of scenes affects the comical nature of the film but, I think

The Effect that a Longer Summer Vacation Has on Students
The minute that everybody has been expecting for has at long last arrived. The people are inclining
toward the edge of their seats, listening for the last chime to ring to unleash them to freedom. We all
love it when summer vacation has arrived, but the time just passes by so fast. A high percentage of
the students want there to be a longer summer vacation, but are there really any benefits? Well yes in
fact a longer vacation will be associated with many benefits such as increased social life, health
benefits, and educational plus financial gains. Students need time to relax and de–stress. With the
accumulation of homework, projects, assignments, tests and quizzes, students are constantly
working and have no time to relax. This can be overwhelming, but students still put in the effort just
to make it through the year because they know they can rest in the summer. Furthermore, this could
cause students to become unmotivated because they will think that they are trapped in a prison in
which they are boundlessly doing work and will never meet their own goals. A longer vacation will
allow us to clear our minds and open them to new possibilities that would not be possible if we were
to follow the same routine every day. Likewise, it is not only the students that need this vacation, but
it is also the staff and faculty as well who would definitely rather see their family and friends instead
of the students for a whole year. Most of these families go on holidays, but sometimes

Vacation About Vacation
Have you ever been to Nevada, or Utah? I've been and you won't believe what I did! We went to Las
Vegas, Zion Canyon National Park. Then we went to Bryce Canyon, then we went back to Las
Vegas for the last three days that would soon end our vacation. Sunday was my parent's anniversary
and they decided to go on a vacation. Monday mom and I drove up to Kansas City to meet Matt and
eat lunch.
Tuesday, we had to wake up at 3:30 to get ready and board the Spirit Airline. The flight was 2 hours
and 41 minutes. During the flight, we saw mountains, valleys, and lakes. When we arrived in Las
Vegas, we went to spend our day at Red Rock Canyon. We went to the visitor center, read about
scorpions, mice, and tarantulas. Then we went outside to learn about the Canyon and met a tortoise
named Louise. We walked several trails, the Ice Box Trail, Red Rock Wash Overlook. We took
several more trails that were easy or moderate.
We drove to Zion Canyon to spend a couple of days there. On our way, we went through a tunnel,
that went into a mountain. It was amazing, every minute or so there would be a little window in the
rock, where the light came in the tunnel. We took pictures of the sunrise on the rocks. We stayed at
the Quality Inn Montclair Hotel. The Springdale shuttles took us to the visitor center, where we
waited to board the Park shuttle buses. We stopped at stop number nine, Temple of Sinawava, and
walked the Riverside Walk, which was paved and ended where the Narrows began.

How To Write A Personal Narrative Essay
It is 6 am on a hot day in July and I've already showered and eaten breakfast. I know that my
classmates are all sleeping in and enjoying their summer break, but I don't envy them; I'm excited to
start my day interning with a local newspaper doing investigative journalism. I work a typical 8–5
day during my summer vacation and despite the early mornings, nothing has made me
happier.Although it wasn't clear to me then, looking back on my high school experiences and
everything that led to me to this internship, I believe this path began with a particularly savvy
teacher and a little book she gave me to read outside of class.
I was taking a composition class, and we were learning how to write persuasive essays. Up until that
point, I had had average grades, but I was always a good writer and my teacher immediately
recognized this. The first paper I wrote for the class was about my experience going to an Indian
reservation located near my uncle's ranch in southwest Colorado. I wrote of the severe poverty
experienced by the people on the reservation, and the lack of access to voting booths during the
most recent election. After reading this short story, my teacher approached me and asked about my
future plans. No one had ever asked me this, and I wasn't sure how to answer. I said I liked writing
and I liked thinking about people who are different from myself. She gave me a book and told me
that if I had time to read it, she thought it would be something I would enjoy. I was

range of hotels and resorts from economical to high–end across various global destinations through
fifty–five (55) brands (Wyndham Worldwide Corporation, 2006–2017).
The company's current internal and external factors were examined, and a determination concluded
that WWC expands in Israel within the next three to five years. WWC should expect to create
competitive advantage in a globally competitive market. Israel was chosen as a possible candidate

concluded that the most reasonable strategic method for expansion given the circumstances revealed

Holiday Rentals & Lanzarote
Lanzarote is the fourth largest of the Canary Islands, a Spanish territory in the Atlantic Ocean off the
northwestern coast of Africa. Like the neighbouring islands of Tenerife and Fuerteventura,
Lanzarote is a volcanic island, however the panorama of Lanzarote is volcanic to the severe. It's
known as "the island of 100 volcanoes" for just right purpose. With dramatic peaks, scorched sand,
lunar–like craters and bizarre rock formations, you'll believe you're taking a vacation on one other
planet.

Vacation In Hawaii
Once upon a time, a family of five, a mother, father, and triplets, decided to take a vacation by going
to Honolulu, Hawaii to stay in a deluxe hotel. The three boys' names were Big Timmy, Little Timmy,
and Timmy. Everyone was very excited to go ride waves, eat food, and sleep a lot. The flight
attendant has just called everyone to board the plane. The three boys and their parents rushed to the
front of the line so they could get the best seats. Two hours before landing, the clouds became grey
and it started to rain lightly. " Attention passengers, we will be landing in Brooklyn, New York due
to extreme weather conditions.", announced the co–pilot. Later that evening, Timmy, Big Timmy,
Little Timmy, and their parents were exhausted and worrying about finding a place to stay the night.
The father had made the decision to stay in a Motel 6 for a day until they figured out how to get
back home. The vacation to Hawaii was ruined but that didn't stop the three boys from having fun.
Timmy sprinted away and yelled, "Let's go swimming!" The two others followed while their parents
looked at one another in disappointment. The boys noticed lights started flickering down the
hallway. What the three boys didn't know was that the hotel was haunted because a woman had died
ten years ago from a seizure. Meanwhile, all three of them jumped into the pool which hasn't been
cleaned for one whole year. As they were playing "Marco Polo" Timmy felt a slight tug and yelled "
What was that!" He

they want to spend a dinner with one another; because, it is still a family vacation. So they decide to

decide that Italian would be best suitable for the whole family, buts as there walking towards the
restaurant, the father is looking for his credit card. The entire family is looking, searching like a
deranged person that has unhinged his sanity in search of gold, for the father knows that he if it falls
in the wrong hands, his reputation, and his identity, could be hanging by a thread or even be tainted.
He's concerned but he hopes to find it, in the meantime he has to call customer service to help him
with his problem. A representative answer his call, "Hello, this Lilith of Chase Customer Service,
this call will be monitored for further aid with other C.S. Representative top help our loyal
customers, how can be of any assistance?", as for the father replies with a heinous, but calm tone, "

Should School Go Year Round? Essay
During the school year, there is one thing that will always be on every child's mind: How far away is
summer vacation. We all experienced this as children, and it kept us focused on getting through the
school year so we did not need to go to summer school. For many students they looked forward to
all of the amazing things they can do in the summer with their friends and family. A struggle with
education for a long time is having kids not forget the information that they learned during the
school year. This seemed impossible for many educators to do because most children are not
focused on school during the year. However, one idea may change all of this forever. Recent
discoveries and research may prove that year–round education is a good idea for some students. The
main question, will this idea become something that implemented everywhere, or just a crazy idea
that would never work.
The idea of having school go year–round is definitely an interesting one. There a clearly many
benefits in getting rid of summer vacation, one of them being that students lose information over the
summer. According to Harris Cooper from "The Ten–Month School Year: Are We Ignoring
Educational Research in Order to Preserve Summer Vacation? Finding a Compromise Between
Educational Advancement and Over–Schooling." By Mary Therese O'Sullivan, he says that ""[t]ests
given to kids in the spring and fall show [that] children generally slide in math and reading during

Come Sail Away Vacation is a time that most people, both young and old, look forward to with great
expectation. Much thought and consideration are usually given regarding the details and planning of
a vacation. Finding a great location with activities and dining options for all can be challenging. Our
family struggled with this dilemma for many years, until we went on a cruise vacation. There, we
found the vacation of our dreams. We had a solid week that we did not have to drive anywhere,
cook, wash dishes, clean anything, or even make the bed. Because one can travel in luxurious
accommodations to exotic ports of call, enjoy fine cuisine, service and entertainment for an
economical price, cruising is the best vacation one can take.
Cruise ships leave daily from locations all over the world and sail to many wonderful ports of call.
One can go to the Caribbean, Mexico, Bahamas, Hawaii, Alaska, Europe, or even take a cruise to
nowhere to name just a few. Depending on the length of the cruise, the ship stops at particular
locations and stays in port all day. One can enjoy the best excursion each port has to offer during the
day, then return back on board that evening to cruise away to the next day's location. The only
responsibility one has is getting back to the ship on time.
Cruises can be as expensive or as economical as one desires them to be. It really just depends on the
experience one is

Essay About Vacation In The Caribbean Vacation
Choosing vacations destinations can become a stressful process. However, if the goal is to find
locations outside of the United States and wan to travel to countries in the Caribbean and Latin
America I have a few suggestions for you. Negril, Jamaica and Cancun Mexico are among the best
vacations spots I have ever visited. The beaches, the accommodations, and the food is amazing in
both countries.
Negril, Jamaica was the second place out of the United States I vacationed. The resort I stayed in
was a five–star all–inclusive adult only resort named Swept Away. The accommodations in Swept
Away were astonishing. I stayed in a bungalow styled room separate from the main resort rooms.
The bungalow was located on the beach near the shoreline. The room was huge. In it there was a
queen size bed made of wood and two lounge chairs. The bedding was bright white linen and the
cushions on the lounge chairs were made of the same bright white linen. Large white mosquito net
was draped around the bed. The white bedding, cushions and mosquito net gave the room a nice
calm and romantic feeling. Also, there was a balcony adjacent to the room. The balcony had a white
linen sofa and two end tables made of wood. The view from the balcony was of the beautiful blue
oceans and beach.
The beaches in Negril bore light brown– almost beige colored sand. The sand felt like soft little
pebbles between your toes when stepped on. Most of the time mellow calypso or reggae music
could be heard

My Travel Experience : My Experience In My Life
In the past sixteen years in my life I have traveled to fifteen states and one other country. I traveled
across the United States to New York, Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia,
North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington D.C, Wisconsin, and
Pennsylvania. The other country I went to was Canada. When I went to these places it was either

My first and last trip out of the state with my class was to Washington D.C. We went in 8th grade of

favorite morning. Later as the day goes by we see Lincoln Memorial and where Martin Luther King

Executive Summary:
In this case, my group members represented the side of the taxpayer. One of the main issues in this
case is whether or not Rex and Agnes Harrell should be able to make deductions in excess of rental
income on their beach house. This deduction depends on if the 14–day personal use provision was
exceeded. If the 14–day provision was exceeded than income should be limited to rental income as
the ISR decided in this case. However, we have determined that the Harrell's have not violated the

income.

personal day than the 14–day provision is violated. However, if none of those days turn out to be
considered personal days then the loss in excess over rental income can be deducted according to
section 280A. Section 183(a) permits no allowable deductions for activities not found to be engaged
in for profit. However, we found that the Harrell's activities are found to be engaged in for profit and
should therefore be allowed these deductions.
Authoritative Support:
Section 280A was issued in response to the public concern that taxpayers were only renting their
vacation homes to deduct personal expenses that would be otherwise nondeductible. This statute
provides a two part limitation on the expenses that can be deducted relating to a vacation home. The
first limitation has to be done if the home is used for personal purposes during any part of the year
and results in separating deductible rental expenses from nondeductible personal expenses according
to section 280A(e)(1). This limitation is equal to the product of the total expenses and the number of
days rented at fair value/the total number of days used for any purpose. As decided by the

Vacation In Hawaii
Most teenagers would be overjoyed when learning they would be going on a vacation to Hawaii, but
instead, I was filled with dread and anxiety. Exploring new things always made me uncomfortable, I
prefer to stay inside my comfort areas and say no to new opportunities. And when I learned that
family members that I hardly knew would be joining us on the trip, I grew more upset. The day we
left for Hawaii I was annoyed and bothered, I put on my headphones and ignored the rest of the
world. By the time we arrived in Hawaii my attitude had not changed, I had already set up this
vacation to be horrible. As soon as we arrived at the beach house and were shown to each of our
rooms I shut my door, closed the blinds, and went to bed. I was too upset to want to do anything
other than sleep. I was awoken by my siblings and mother with invitations to hang out multiple
times, but each time I declined and went back to sleep. I woke up the next day still troubled, but I
was greeted with breakfast in bed. My mother had prepared scrambled eggs, avocado toast, and a
croissant in hopes to raise my spirits up. Her plan had worked, I felt better than I had the night
before but I still wasn't in the mood to leave the house or mingle with anyone. That day, everyone
went to the beach while I stayed in my room watching TV. In the afternoon, everyone had come
home from the beach and I continued to stay in my room. In the middle of watching TV, my sister
came to my room and told me my brother

Persuasive Essay Why Do We Need Summer

"Do We Need Summer"
Sometimes I can't wait for the weekend to come, I feel the same maybe even more when it comes
too summer. This is why so many kids need summer so they can make life long memories with their
families.
Why do you think we need summer vacation? Students can take creative classes ranging from karate
to screenwriting to relieve stress. According to Nora Huynh, when some people in high school get
lower grades on their report cards, this why we need summer vacation to relieve stress. This also
happens in college when people get low grades, there are some group activates that help boost a
grade. As well as stress can be hard on a person's life and could lead to the teen harming themselves
or others. Sometimes if you have to much homework we don't get to have as much time with our
families or our friends that is why people need less homework to help relieve stress. (Huynh). Over
summer vacation a kid's mind is open and he or she is ready for the new school year, this can help
with a kids learning skills and his or her life memories. The kids can build up allot of stress during
the school year (Huynh). This why kids need to have summer off. Parents don't have time to help
their children do homework because they work. For ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Vacation Florida Style with Cheap Florida Vacation Rentals
Vacation in Florida is what many people look forward to all year long. When you are planning your

your family. Whether you are renting from a realty company or from an owner directly, there are
some things that you want to keep in mind. What do you need to consider when you are looking for

Vacation Rentals Or Hotels
Vacation rentals or hotels, that is the question. When choosing the most suitable accommodation for
your trip, there are a few factors that come into play. For example, how much are you willing to
spend for a night? After all, the money that doesn't go into accommodation, goes into meals or
shopping.
To help you deal with this struggle, we have compiled a checklist to guide your choice in deciding
the perfect accommodation for your trip. Undecided between vacation rentals or hotels? Read on to
find out more about which to pick when you are planning your perfect holiday trip.
Costs can vary according to the size, location and length of your stay. If you are not on a tight
budget, staying at a hotel might be more enticing than spending a night at a vacation home. Unlike a
vacation rental, a hotel offers more customer–oriented services such as room–keeping services and a
24 hour reception and concierge to attend to any needs you might have. Stay in a hotel and when
you are back after a long day spent exploring the city, you can be sure to return to a tidied room and
clean sheets.
If your budget is not as flexible, vacation rentals are the way to go. The biggest perk is that instead
of getting a room all to yourself, you get an entire house! This often comes complete with a living
room, a bedroom and a kitchen. It will be like you never left home, except maybe a little bit nicer
and more exciting.
More often than not, the reason why most hotels are costly is due to the fact

Have you ever been to Las Vegas or on vacation with your family ? I have. I do not go on vacation
that often the last time we went on vacation was 6 years ago so I bet you can imagine my excitement
for this summer. The ride to Las Vegas was about 14 hours I think it was ok though because I enjoy
long rides I didn't sleep the whole ride.
On June 29 I woke up at about 7am with the sun shining through my French doors and my bird
singing it was a beautiful morning and I was excited for what the day had ahead. We had left at 12 in
the afternoon. The count of everyone in the car including the dogs was 8 it was me my brother
Jacob, my mom ,my dad , and my sister Mallory . On the way there we saw some cool things like
the seven magic mountains which are like seven tall stacks of boulders that are painted. I took a 20
minuet nap when I woke up we were in the beautiful Las Vegas we were actually just entering the
Las Vegas strip. If you have never been to the Las Vegas strip I will tell you what it looks like so you
can get a little picture in your head of where I was when I woke up. We got there at night so it was
really bright and colorful lots of billboards and people walking on the sidewalks it was really pact
with people. When we got to my grandmas house I had a flash back from the last time I visited her
but she was living in another house I remember her red kitchen walls with a white living room with

Summer Vacations
A success of a student relies on a the time spent in school. Anaheim high school students need to
have longer hours in school to study for and get all the help they need and to make that happen there
needs to be less summer vacation my argument is that KIPP students are smart and well educated
because they have long hours of school and study for approximately 2 hours and read and listen to
music for about the same time. "Relation of Education Insanity"(8). The scores show how students
who had longer summer schools had a had low test scores and for those students who had less
summer vacations and they had better test scores which is pretty impressive. Studying a lot and
putting a lot of time in something would make it easier for your brain to function faster because
you're constantly thinking. "The beginning is hard"(9). The beginning is hard but when you try and
you challenge yourself you start to believe in yourself and become a successful person.
Rewarding students is great to show them they are important and they need to treat themselves from
putting in great work, but does it really help encourage and motivates the students?
I believe yes it does motivate the students because they look at it as a goal. And it may push them to
try harder and be successful. The longer hours at school is to become hard working and understand
what you are doing and the studying for long hours is to help you become successful "What that
extra time does is allow for a more relaxed

Movie Review : Vegas Vacation
The dynamics of different families and how they function can often be depicted through film and
television shows. Even in comedic movies which are typically meant to not be taken so seriously,
shows underlying family and marital dynamics, problems, and relationships. Despite all the comedic
jokes and banter, the American comedy movie directed by Stephen Kessler, Vegas Vacation, does an
exemplary job at illustrating family and marital relationships. The movie follows the Griswold
family as they venture off to Las Vegas for a family vacation. Throughout the movie, the Griswolds
face miscellaneous family and marital struggles which puts everyone's relationships to the test.
The Griswold family consists of Clark Griswold, his wife Ellen, and ... Show more content on

The in–depth analyzes of the Griswold family, shows problems within the family system. This
includes an unstable marriage, Clark's gambling problem, and Clark's lack of attention towards his
children.
The movie depicts various signs of an unstable marriage. Although the marriage between Ellen and
Clark initially seems to be stable, as the movie progresses, problems within the marriage begin to
unveil. One of the prominent problems seen within the marriage is the distribution of power. There
is a substantial amount of instances in the movie supporting the fact that there is a one–sided
marriage, especially when it comes to dominance and power. Clark seems to be the head of the
hierarchy, the one who makes all the decisions, and the one who always gets his way. A hierarchy in
a family system describes how families organize themselves within the family. The person who is at
the top of the hierarchy usually holds the most power and authority, while the person on the bottom
has the least power and authority. This is seen to be evident when Clark told his family that they
were all going to go to Las Vegas for vacation. Clark's family was initially not too excited about
going to Las Vegas. His wife, Ellen, even stated that she believed that Las Vegas was not really a
place for a family to visit. Clark's

My Life At The Hotel Room
One day in summer of 2015, my family and I went on a little vacation to Dallas,Texas. My mom and
dad went to hang out with their friends the whole vacation while me and my sister were bored in the
hotel room taking care of my little brat of a brother. But to our luck, there were two girls around my
age that are my friends. It kinda sucked for my sister because she had no one that was her age other
than three boys, but she won't talk to them. The adults wanted to have an adult day, but the whole
vacation it was adult days. I wanted to go swimming in the hotel room and so did the two girls plus
my sister.
"They are responsible," "They will be fine, let them go," all the adults said but maybe They were so
wrong. All the adults agreed to let us four girls go to the hotel alone.
Once we got to the hotel we sprinted up to the room. All of us decided to go to the pool. Everyone
took forever to get ready, but i was done in a flash. We got to the pool. Everybody was too chicken
to go to the pool. My sister being herself, she was paranoid because there was an old man who
looked creepy. One of the girls that was with us is very social and she didn't think before she does
something. her being herself called out to the old man
"Hey how are you?"
"I'm good how is the water?" the creepy old man said
"It's great," she responded
"Well in that case i'll go and put my swimming suit on and meet you back in the pool," at that
moment we know that everything is going to go down hill. The old

Descriptive Vacation
Did you ever receive a tremendous impact from a vacation? My vacation to Orlando became the
magnum opus summer trip. Before, most of my vacations with my family consisted of locations in
Oklahoma and Texas. However, Orlando provided serendipitous moments of my life.
The vacation all started on August 22, 2016, with my family driving all the way to the Dallas/Fort
Worth area in Texas. The airport greeted us with its huge, orange, and grey structure. The airport
swarmed with numerous people and their luggage. After waiting for our tickets, we arrived at our
scheduled plane. The plane contained a Spirit logo with strands of colors including yellow, black,
and white. After ten minutes of settling down, our massive flight took towards the luminous sky.
Throughout the journey, the sky glowed like a large lantern with the sunlight piercing my eyes. I
became amazed and excited at the sky's beauty of its orange lights compromising with the large
clouds like a community town. Once we landed in Orlando, the city sparkled with its abnormally
large buildings and palm trees. The weather wrapped me and my family with a warm hug. After
renting a car, we drove throughout the International Drive, a popular spot of Orlando, and saw
incredible sights: the entrance of Universal Orlando, the entrance of Sea World, and billboards that
came to life. After the sights, I felt that I and Orlando will make a beautiful friendship.
On August 23, my family and I visited the "Ripley's Believe It or

National Lampoon's: Christmas Vacation Characters
In the movie, National Lampoon's: Christmas Vacation, many connections can be made between the
film and chapter 4: development through the life span. There are many situations that the characters
run into that highlight some aspects of, and lack there of, development. Clark Griswold is a husband
and a father to two children, who just wants to have a "good ol' fashioned family Christmas". Clark
is impulsive, awkward, and idealistic. His wife, Ellen, does her best to put of with Clark's antics.
She is a very gracious person, as well as being witty, and kind. Clark and Ellen's oldest child,
Audrey, is the stereotypical teenaged girl, sassy, whiny, and overly dramatic. Their son, Russ, is kind
of indifferent to it all, he is also loyal to his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Audrey is old enough to have sexually matured and reached menarche. Russ on the other hand, is in
his teen years, but his secondary sex characteristics have not developed yet. He still has a relatively
high pitched voice, and has no facial hair. Another thing from the chapter that can be seen in
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation are Kohlberg's stages of moral development. The pre–
conventional stage of moral development can be seen though Rocky and Ruby–Sue. They say that
they are good all year long so that Santa will bring them presents. This shows that both of them are
in the pre–conventional stage, because self–interest and reward is all that they are concerned about
when it comes to following the rules. Audrey can be seen going through her identity and personality
formation. She is slightly different when she is around different people. She is definitely trying to be
someone else when she is going to talk to a boy named Alexander. She even asks her mother if it
would be a possibility for the grandparents to stay at a hotel, because Grandpa Clark answered the
phone when Alexander called. That shows that she is being different people around her family as
compared to her peers, which is normal for her age when trying to find her

Year Round Schooling Should Be A Positive Change
Year Round Schooling Could be a Positive Change
Summer vacation. For most children and teens, the phrase conjures up images of hot, sunny days
and vacations with the whole family to far–off places. We all envision lazy afternoons relaxing on
the beach, playing in water parks, and going on picnics. But what happens when summer ends and
the reality of another year of school sinks in?
A large portion of the knowledge gained during the last school year is lost over the long idle months
and must be retaught for weeks, which wastes a lot of time that could be spent learning new
material. This puts students behind in that year's curriculum, and over many summers, can add up to
students being months or years behind where they would be if no learning was lost. There is a
solution to this problem, however: year–round school. Year–round school provides many advantages
for both students and adults over the traditional summer vacation schedule.
The most important advantage of year–round school is that it helps students retain knowledge.
Learning lost during the summer is a big problem. Proponents of year–round school assert that
having shorter breaks would reduce learning loss because the students couldn't forget as much over
a shorter period of time. Detractors often say that there have been no reputable studies supporting
this. It is true that many studies had somewhat faulty methodologies, failing to account for other
variables that could have affected performance, like

Outliers Malcolm Gladwell Analysis
Malcolm Gladwell, the author of Outliers, a novel depicting success, provides different examples of
how an individual can achieve success in every chapter of his book to show his audience that
success, despite a variety of barriers, is in fact in our control. A very important chapter titled,
"Marita's Bargain", explains the flaws in today's public school systems. He shows the problems with
the solutions to fix them while showing the alternatives to the regular system such as the KIPP
Program in New York. The KIPP Program (Knowledge is Power Program) is a new kind of middle
school that selects students from less fortunate locations and uses unique teaching strategies to turn
them around into fantastic learners. In the chapter, Gladwell is extremely descriptive by using visual
words to paint the picture of the South Bronx in New York City. He describes the buildings that
were built in the 1960's as squat and bleak looking. Gladwell had an interest in this subject as it
involves success, however he had no prior experiences to produce the piece. Gladwell establishes
personal credibility through the use of knowledge, reason, and facts and figures. He comes across
very knowledgeable on the subject presenting great data with excellent vocabulary. He is able to do
this with no obvious bias as well. Gladwell shows authority because he is well known for writing
novels that involve success. His intention is to teach and explain how schools need to change the
length of vacation breaks

The Positivity of Year-Round Schools Essay
Do you ever wonder why the kids cause so much chaos during vacation? Well they have too much
time on their hands and not enough supervision. Back when we lived in a basic economy, summer
vacation made sense because academic achievement mattered less. An absence of air conditioning or
modern hygiene turned crowded schools into health–risks, and children had moms who were home
every day. Times have changed now, so we have no need for summer vacation. Year Round schools
would be successful because GPAs will rise and graduation rates will increase also children would
have a safe place to go

Allocated school and class time, instructional time, and academic learning time. Allocated school
and class time are hours of non–instructional activities. Instructional time should be devoted to
formal instruction and learning, but not with poor teaching inattention. Lastly, is academic learning
time when the students are actually learning. The important and obvious distinction makes in clear
why and extended–time proposal must focus on providing the kind of time such as instructional and
academic time, rather than just adding hours in general. Extending and improving the use of
instructional time could undoubtedly benefit all students. But studies suggest that extended time
may matter more for some students than others. Poor and minority students are less likely than their
more affluent peers that benefit from resources out of school. Evidence from the beginning school
study (BBS), a long study that began in 1982 by sociologists Doris Entwisle and Karl Alexander,
shows that lower–income lose ground to higher–income children over time because of what
researches call summer learning loss.
Some strategies for extending learning is more beneficial than others. Most calculations suggest that
a 10% increase in time would require a 6% to 7% increase in cost. Cost calculations are based
largely on increased school staffing, but often do not consider other costs such as those for
additional building maintenance, electric, telephone, etc. The recent Massachusetts plan, which

Speech On Vacation
"Finally, we get to go on vacation!" I exclaimed as we got up to leave. My parents had already
loaded up the car and we were ready to go. All morning while I was getting ready was the sound of
suitcases being dragged around and the beeping of the car as the trunk opened and closed. Then I
heard all of my other seven brothers and sisters get into the car. We of course have a huge car, but
even with that it's still a little cramped. All of my brothers stunk up the car and it made the spilt milk
smell ten times worse. We had an hour drive to the airport and then another 5 hours on a plane. My
oldest brother, Andrew had already fallen asleep and my other 3 brothers were poking him and
trying to annoy him but he was out cold. Because in total there are ten of us it's super rare that we
ever get to go on vacation. But my dad just got a ton of extra vacation days so we finally decided to
go on a vacation. This vacation is going to be awesome, as long as no one gets lost, sick, hurt, or
complaints. Well maybe the complaining part won't happen, but hey, I can always hope. A long, long
hour later we arrive at the airport and park the car. This is the dreaded part, trying to get everyone's
things organized. My bag, of course, is a decent size. Andrews seems a little small but then again, he
wears the same outfit every day and probably won't need much else. Then my older sister Chloe's
bag comes out. It's huge! It seriously looks like it was about to explode. But it's too big,

Cruises appeal to many travelers because they are considered all–inclusive vacations. Pay one price
and receive accommodations, meals, entertainment, and transportation between island and port
destinations. But once onboard, many cruisers find themselves shelling out hundreds of additional
dollars for shore excursions, alcoholic beverages, and gratuities. What happened to their supposedly
all–inclusive vacation? Many land–based resorts also refer to themselves as all–inclusive, yet [the

Adventure is limited to basketball, shuffleboard or the all access ship pool. Cruise ships look boring
and a person would float along. The land base resorts are not bound by the imagination of the cruise
director. Patrons of resorts can plan (with the help of a concierge) the ultimate vacation based on
their individual preferences. You can hand pick your own adventure from island exploration, deep–
sea fishing, catamaran sails, guided island tours, mountain biking, dune buggy off–roading
excursions, dolphin encounters, scuba diving, horseback riding and more. The choices are endless
and some are included in the package. The not– so–adventurous can take relaxing strolls alone the
beach, play volleyball, paddle boat, surf or other less strenuous activities. As for night life, patrons
can choose to party on the resort, attend All–White parties, talent shows, beach parties, bonfires or
listen to live bands. The more daring could party with the locals to experience rich, authentic
Caribbean culture first hand.
All–inclusive, whether land resort or cruises, are the preferred way to vacation and provide a great
value for the cost. Depending on the client's budget and time constraints, cruises are wonderful
getaways but land resorts offer greater variety and excitement. The decision depends on rather a
person loves land or water. In conclusion, the abundance that an all–inclusive trip has to offer will

  • 3. A Scar to Remember New York City, summer of 2007, I got out of the car and inhaled the stale air. I rushed to the entrance with my luggage and opened the door of the washed out red sky–high building. After my family and I entered the building and we serenely walked over to the elevator and I pushed the button until it flashed luminous red. I was thrilled I was going to see my cousins after such a long time. The last time we were together was when I used to live there. We moved to Massachusetts when I was two years old. I was wondering what this place had in store for me and if this is going to be the best summer vacation or not. But what will happen to me became a scar that will always be with me forever. The bell went off and the elevator doors opened on the sixth floor. I took a left and went straight until I saw the door that opened to their apartment. I knocked on the door extremely exhilarated feeling like my head would pop off my neck. When my aunt unlocked and opened up the door, she saw us and was utterly shocked. "SURPRISE!" She came out of the apartment and gave all of us a hug as well as our cousins and after welcomed us into their home. My cousin asks me "Why did you suddenly come to New York?" I verbalized "Why you don't want us here?" She then replied "No that is not what I meant." "We traveled here because as you know it is summer break and we thought about visiting you and, wanted to give you a massive surprise." The last day of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In Starwood's vision statement the vision is vague. They are not in the Life Style business, nor strongly in the Consumer Products business. Their business is the hospitality business and it is not emphasized properly. Starwood lacks a mission statement. As so they do not address the nine components of the mission statement that describes what the business is. There is a statement of company values. It is a very generic and all encompassing statement, but it does sets the standard for the culture the company wants to establish. B) Starwood suffered poor performance in 2006. • 7. Vacation Vs My Dream Vacation My Typical Vacation vs. My Dream Vacation I take a vacation every year, and every year it's the same thing – a week of camping at a campground one hour from our home. But I dream of a vacation in which I take a cruise to some exotic location or stay at an all–inclusive resort on an island where I can be pampered and thrilled at the same time. Both of these vacations are good, and both certainly offer me time away from work in which I can have a respite from impending deadlines, a demanding boss, and grumbling clients. In addition, both can even offer me the outdoor time soaking up the natural world my spirit seems to need. And to be clear, family memories, which are so important to me, can be made on both vacations. Yet, the differences between my dream vacation and my typical camping vacation are distinct, which is why I still yearn for that dream vacation that I have yet to take. To begin with, both vacations are different in purpose. We go camping because it is inexpensive; raising children costs money, and camping is an inexpensive yet fun way for us to make family memories yet still afford things for the children like nice clothes, extracurricular activities like football and piano lessons, and fun activities like going bowling with friends. The cost of a camping vacation is minimal, particularly if we use the same supplies year after year. We sleep on the ground in a tent we have used for ten years. We cook our own food over a campfire, and our daily ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. National Lampoon's: Christmas Vacation National Lampoon's: Christmas Vacation: A Worthy Classic Comedy In the film Christmas Vacation, there is a hilarious scene when Clark Griswold "played by Chevy Chase" and his family are out finding the perfect Christmas tree. They come across what Clark believes to be the family tree, but the family worries about the tree being too big. Clark reassures them that the tree isn't big, it's just full. Rusty worries about the tree not fitting anywhere, Clark tells Rusty the tree is not going to go anywhere but in Griswold's living room. After all this time spent finding the perfect tree, a huge tree with the roots still attached is shown on top of the Griswold station wagon because Clark forgets to bring the saw. This scene paves the way for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (qtd. in LeDonne), Chevy Chase states, "Then the turkey, looking like that: "Here 's the heart!" [Laughs] It 's just wonderful, because it 's not so outlandish,"(qtd. in LeDonne). In other words, Chevy is saying Murphy 's law, that anything can go wrong will during the holidays. This makes Christmas Vacation easier to laugh at because, the film captured the true essence of what some families go through during the holiday season. The back–to–back humorous unexpected scenes keep the audience on their toes meanwhile, waiting to see what disaster awaits. Trumbore is right when he states," It's one of the best running gags in comedy movie history and Hughes gets such versatility out of it, but it's still only one example of the humor present in this movie", I agree with the statement Trumbore makes when he talks about the squirrel scene because there are many funny unexpected scenes that arise. Trumbore says, "Clark forgetting the saw and ripping the tree out by the roots," is one of the beginning hilarious scene in the film that shows the audience what they're in store for in the rest of the film. In Trumbore 's article, he states, "Snot the dog drinking tree water and the resulting drying out of the tree leading to it bursting into flames", ensuring the film has more than enough comedy scenes to make the audience laugh. Some critics may say that the untidiness of scenes affects the comical nature of the film but, I think a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. The Effect that a Longer Summer Vacation Has on Students The minute that everybody has been expecting for has at long last arrived. The people are inclining toward the edge of their seats, listening for the last chime to ring to unleash them to freedom. We all love it when summer vacation has arrived, but the time just passes by so fast. A high percentage of the students want there to be a longer summer vacation, but are there really any benefits? Well yes in fact a longer vacation will be associated with many benefits such as increased social life, health benefits, and educational plus financial gains. Students need time to relax and de–stress. With the accumulation of homework, projects, assignments, tests and quizzes, students are constantly working and have no time to relax. This can be overwhelming, but students still put in the effort just to make it through the year because they know they can rest in the summer. Furthermore, this could cause students to become unmotivated because they will think that they are trapped in a prison in which they are boundlessly doing work and will never meet their own goals. A longer vacation will allow us to clear our minds and open them to new possibilities that would not be possible if we were to follow the same routine every day. Likewise, it is not only the students that need this vacation, but it is also the staff and faculty as well who would definitely rather see their family and friends instead of the students for a whole year. Most of these families go on holidays, but sometimes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Vacation About Vacation Have you ever been to Nevada, or Utah? I've been and you won't believe what I did! We went to Las Vegas, Zion Canyon National Park. Then we went to Bryce Canyon, then we went back to Las Vegas for the last three days that would soon end our vacation. Sunday was my parent's anniversary and they decided to go on a vacation. Monday mom and I drove up to Kansas City to meet Matt and eat lunch. Tuesday, we had to wake up at 3:30 to get ready and board the Spirit Airline. The flight was 2 hours and 41 minutes. During the flight, we saw mountains, valleys, and lakes. When we arrived in Las Vegas, we went to spend our day at Red Rock Canyon. We went to the visitor center, read about scorpions, mice, and tarantulas. Then we went outside to learn about the Canyon and met a tortoise named Louise. We walked several trails, the Ice Box Trail, Red Rock Wash Overlook. We took several more trails that were easy or moderate. We drove to Zion Canyon to spend a couple of days there. On our way, we went through a tunnel, that went into a mountain. It was amazing, every minute or so there would be a little window in the rock, where the light came in the tunnel. We took pictures of the sunrise on the rocks. We stayed at the Quality Inn Montclair Hotel. The Springdale shuttles took us to the visitor center, where we waited to board the Park shuttle buses. We stopped at stop number nine, Temple of Sinawava, and walked the Riverside Walk, which was paved and ended where the Narrows began. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. How To Write A Personal Narrative Essay It is 6 am on a hot day in July and I've already showered and eaten breakfast. I know that my classmates are all sleeping in and enjoying their summer break, but I don't envy them; I'm excited to start my day interning with a local newspaper doing investigative journalism. I work a typical 8–5 day during my summer vacation and despite the early mornings, nothing has made me happier.Although it wasn't clear to me then, looking back on my high school experiences and everything that led to me to this internship, I believe this path began with a particularly savvy teacher and a little book she gave me to read outside of class. I was taking a composition class, and we were learning how to write persuasive essays. Up until that point, I had had average grades, but I was always a good writer and my teacher immediately recognized this. The first paper I wrote for the class was about my experience going to an Indian reservation located near my uncle's ranch in southwest Colorado. I wrote of the severe poverty experienced by the people on the reservation, and the lack of access to voting booths during the most recent election. After reading this short story, my teacher approached me and asked about my future plans. No one had ever asked me this, and I wasn't sure how to answer. I said I liked writing and I liked thinking about people who are different from myself. She gave me a book and told me that if I had time to read it, she thought it would be something I would enjoy. • 21. Vacation In Hawaii Once upon a time, a family of five, a mother, father, and triplets, decided to take a vacation by going to Honolulu, Hawaii to stay in a deluxe hotel. The three boys' names were Big Timmy, Little Timmy, and Timmy. Everyone was very excited to go ride waves, eat food, and sleep a lot. The flight attendant has just called everyone to board the plane. The three boys and their parents rushed to the front of the line so they could get the best seats. Two hours before landing, the clouds became grey and it started to rain lightly. " Attention passengers, we will be landing in Brooklyn, New York due to extreme weather conditions.", announced the co–pilot. Later that evening, Timmy, Big Timmy, Little Timmy, and their parents were exhausted and worrying about finding a place to stay the night. The father had made the decision to stay in a Motel 6 for a day until they figured out how to get back home. The vacation to Hawaii was ruined but that didn't stop the three boys from having fun. Timmy sprinted away and yelled, "Let's go swimming!" The two others followed while their parents looked at one another in disappointment. The boys noticed lights started flickering down the hallway. What the three boys didn't know was that the hotel was haunted because a woman had died ten years ago from a seizure. Meanwhile, all three of them jumped into the pool which hasn't been cleaned for one whole year. As they were playing "Marco Polo" Timmy felt a slight tug and yelled " What was that!" He ... • 25. Should School Go Year Round? Essay During the school year, there is one thing that will always be on every child's mind: How far away is summer vacation. We all experienced this as children, and it kept us focused on getting through the school year so we did not need to go to summer school. For many students they looked forward to all of the amazing things they can do in the summer with their friends and family. A struggle with education for a long time is having kids not forget the information that they learned during the school year. This seemed impossible for many educators to do because most children are not focused on school during the year. However, one idea may change all of this forever. Recent discoveries and research may prove that year–round education is a good idea for some students. The main question, will this idea become something that implemented everywhere, or just a crazy idea that would never work. The idea of having school go year–round is definitely an interesting one. There a clearly many benefits in getting rid of summer vacation, one of them being that students lose information over the summer. • 29. How Vacation Is A Vacation Billy Stringfellow Amy McWhirt Composition I, On–line 11 May 2015 Come Sail Away Vacation is a time that most people, both young and old, look forward to with great expectation. Much thought and consideration are usually given regarding the details and planning of a vacation. Finding a great location with activities and dining options for all can be challenging. Our family struggled with this dilemma for many years, until we went on a cruise vacation. There, we found the vacation of our dreams. We had a solid week that we did not have to drive anywhere, cook, wash dishes, clean anything, or even make the bed. Because one can travel in luxurious accommodations to exotic ports of call, enjoy fine cuisine, service and entertainment for an economical price, cruising is the best vacation one can take. Cruise ships leave daily from locations all over the world and sail to many wonderful ports of call. One can go to the Caribbean, Mexico, Bahamas, Hawaii, Alaska, Europe, or even take a cruise to nowhere to name just a few. Depending on the length of the cruise, the ship stops at particular locations and stays in port all day. One can enjoy the best excursion each port has to offer during the day, then return back on board that evening to cruise away to the next day's location. The only responsibility one has is getting back to the ship on time. Cruises can be as expensive or as economical as one desires them to be. It really just depends on the experience one is ... • 31. Essay About Vacation In The Caribbean Vacation Choosing vacations destinations can become a stressful process. However, if the goal is to find locations outside of the United States and wan to travel to countries in the Caribbean and Latin America I have a few suggestions for you. Negril, Jamaica and Cancun Mexico are among the best vacations spots I have ever visited. The beaches, the accommodations, and the food is amazing in both countries. Negril, Jamaica was the second place out of the United States I vacationed. The resort I stayed in was a five–star all–inclusive adult only resort named Swept Away. The accommodations in Swept Away were astonishing. I stayed in a bungalow styled room separate from the main resort rooms. The bungalow was located on the beach near the shoreline. The room was huge. In it there was a queen size bed made of wood and two lounge chairs. The bedding was bright white linen and the cushions on the lounge chairs were made of the same bright white linen. Large white mosquito net was draped around the bed. The white bedding, cushions and mosquito net gave the room a nice calm and romantic feeling. Also, there was a balcony adjacent to the room. The balcony had a white linen sofa and two end tables made of wood. The view from the balcony was of the beautiful blue oceans and beach. The beaches in Negril bore light brown– almost beige colored sand. The sand felt like soft little pebbles between your toes when stepped on. Most of the time mellow calypso or reggae music could be heard ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I traveled across the United States to New York, Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington D.C, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. The other country I went to was Canada. When I went to these places it was either over the summer or with school on a trip. These traveling experiences have shaped my childhood and made me become the person I am today. From all the traveling I've done in my life, I now love to travel and I'm glad I get to go every month to Michigan to visit my family. My first and last trip out of the state with my class was to Washington D.C. We went in 8th grade of 2014 and went over fall break for four days. It took us approximately twelve hours to get there on a charter bus. During the ride there, we left at about 6 pm and drove through the night. Me and my friends slept on the floor of the back of the bus. We get there the next day at about 6 am and we all got ready in a public bathroom and had a pretty gross breakfast. I can say for sure it wasn't my favorite morning. Later as the day goes by we see Lincoln Memorial and where Martin Luther King Jr. said his "I have a dream.." speech. We also saw the White House as well as a few other memorials. The next day was the day I had to lay the wreath of the "Tomb of the Unknown Soldier" in Arlington, Virginia. One of the main issues in this case is whether or not Rex and Agnes Harrell should be able to make deductions in excess of rental income on their beach house. This deduction depends on if the 14–day personal use provision was exceeded. If the 14–day provision was exceeded than income should be limited to rental income as the ISR decided in this case. However, we have determined that the Harrell's have not violated the 14–day provision and should therefore be allowed deductions for rental expenses exceeding rental income. The log maintained by the couple indicates that the couple used 14 guaranteed personal days. If even 1 out of the 28 days that the couple partially or fully worked on the house is considered a personal day than the 14–day provision is violated. However, if none of those days turn out to be considered personal days then the loss in excess over rental income can be deducted according to section 280A. Section 183(a) permits no allowable deductions for activities not found to be engaged in for profit. However, we found that the Harrell's activities are found to be engaged in for profit and should therefore be allowed these deductions. Authoritative Support: Section 280A was issued in response to the public concern that taxpayers were only renting their vacation homes to deduct personal expenses that would be otherwise nondeductible. This statute provides a two part limitation on the expenses that can be deducted relating to a vacation home. The first limitation has to be done if the home is used for personal purposes during any part of the year and results in separating deductible rental expenses from nondeductible personal expenses according to section 280A(e)(1). This limitation is equal to the product of the total expenses and the number of days rented at fair value/the total number of days used for any purpose. As decided by the

This is why so many kids need summer so they can make life long memories with their families. Why do you think we need summer vacation? Students can take creative classes ranging from karate to screenwriting to relieve stress. According to Nora Huynh, when some people in high school get lower grades on their report cards, this why we need summer vacation to relieve stress. This also happens in college when people get low grades, there are some group activates that help boost a grade. As well as stress can be hard on a person's life and could lead to the teen harming themselves or others. Sometimes if you have to much homework we don't get to have as much time with our families or our friends that is why people need less homework to help relieve stress. (Huynh). Over summer vacation a kid's mind is open and he or she is ready for the new school year, this can help with a kids learning skills and his or her life memories. The kids can build up allot of stress during the school year (Huynh). This why kids need to have summer off. Parents don't have time to help their children do homework because they work. For ... • 52. Vacation Rentals Or Hotels Vacation rentals or hotels, that is the question. When choosing the most suitable accommodation for your trip, there are a few factors that come into play. For example, how much are you willing to spend for a night? After all, the money that doesn't go into accommodation, goes into meals or shopping. To help you deal with this struggle, we have compiled a checklist to guide your choice in deciding the perfect accommodation for your trip. Undecided between vacation rentals or hotels? Read on to find out more about which to pick when you are planning your perfect holiday trip. Costs can vary according to the size, location and length of your stay. If you are not on a tight budget, staying at a hotel might be more enticing than spending a night at a vacation home. Unlike a vacation rental, a hotel offers more customer–oriented services such as room–keeping services and a 24 hour reception and concierge to attend to any needs you might have. Stay in a hotel and when you are back after a long day spent exploring the city, you can be sure to return to a tidied room and clean sheets. If your budget is not as flexible, vacation rentals are the way to go. The biggest perk is that instead of getting a room all to yourself, you get an entire house! This often comes complete with a living room, a bedroom and a kitchen. It will be like you never left home, except maybe a little bit nicer and more exciting. We all envision lazy afternoons relaxing on the beach, playing in water parks, and going on picnics. But what happens when summer ends and the reality of another year of school sinks in? A large portion of the knowledge gained during the last school year is lost over the long idle months and must be retaught for weeks, which wastes a lot of time that could be spent learning new material. This puts students behind in that year's curriculum, and over many summers, can add up to students being months or years behind where they would be if no learning was lost. There is a solution to this problem, however: year–round school. Year–round school provides many advantages for both students and adults over the traditional summer vacation schedule. The most important advantage of year–round school is that it helps students retain knowledge. Learning lost during the summer is a big problem. Proponents of year–round school assert that having shorter breaks would reduce learning loss because the students couldn't forget as much over a shorter period of time. Detractors often say that there have been no reputable studies supporting this. It is true that many studies had somewhat faulty methodologies, failing to account for other variables that could have affected performance, like ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We were talking about how amazing it would be if we got to go to Canada for summer vacation. When we finished talking he came in the room and asked "What was that about." "Oh we were just talking about how amazing it would be if we go to go on vacation this summer to Canada but, we don't have enough money to go." Then to my shocking surprise he said "I'll pay for you and your mom to go to Canada for vacation." I was overwhelmed with joy.(6 SENTENCES ELABORATING AND TELLING A STORY) I would like to travel to Canada and while there, I would visit the cities of Quebec, Alberta, and Toronto.(THESIS STATEMENT) To begin with, I would visit the city of Quebec. The first place I would visit is the Battlefield Parks. • 72. Outliers Malcolm Gladwell Analysis Malcolm Gladwell, the author of Outliers, a novel depicting success, provides different examples of how an individual can achieve success in every chapter of his book to show his audience that success, despite a variety of barriers, is in fact in our control. A very important chapter titled, "Marita's Bargain", explains the flaws in today's public school systems. He shows the problems with the solutions to fix them while showing the alternatives to the regular system such as the KIPP Program in New York. The KIPP Program (Knowledge is Power Program) is a new kind of middle school that selects students from less fortunate locations and uses unique teaching strategies to turn them around into fantastic learners. In the chapter, Gladwell is extremely descriptive by using visual words to paint the picture of the South Bronx in New York City. He describes the buildings that were built in the 1960's as squat and bleak looking. Gladwell had an interest in this subject as it involves success, however he had no prior experiences to produce the piece. Gladwell establishes personal credibility through the use of knowledge, reason, and facts and figures. He comes across very knowledgeable on the subject presenting great data with excellent vocabulary. He is able to do this with no obvious bias as well. Gladwell shows authority because he is well known for writing novels that involve success. His intention is to teach and explain how schools need to change the length of vacation breaks ... • 74. The Positivity of Year-Round Schools Essay Do you ever wonder why the kids cause so much chaos during vacation? Well they have too much time on their hands and not enough supervision. Back when we lived in a basic economy, summer vacation made sense because academic achievement mattered less. An absence of air conditioning or modern hygiene turned crowded schools into health–risks, and children had moms who were home every day. Times have changed now, so we have no need for summer vacation. Year Round schools would be successful because GPAs will rise and graduation rates will increase also children would have a safe place to go Thinking about your child's future? Well if we had year round schools, our kids would be better, they are basically competing with other countries such as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Allocated school and class time, instructional time, and academic learning time. Allocated school and class time are hours of non–instructional activities. Instructional time should be devoted to formal instruction and learning, but not with poor teaching inattention. Lastly, is academic learning time when the students are actually learning. The important and obvious distinction makes in clear why and extended–time proposal must focus on providing the kind of time such as instructional and academic time, rather than just adding hours in general. Extending and improving the use of instructional time could undoubtedly benefit all students. But studies suggest that extended time may matter more for some students than others. Poor and minority students are less likely than their more affluent peers that benefit from resources out of school. Evidence from the beginning school study (BBS), a long study that began in 1982 by sociologists Doris Entwisle and Karl Alexander, shows that lower–income lose ground to higher–income children over time because of what researches call summer learning loss. Some strategies for extending learning is more beneficial than others. Most calculations suggest that a 10% increase in time would require a 6% to 7% increase in cost. Cost calculations are based largely on increased school staffing, but often do not consider other costs such as those for additional building maintenance, electric, telephone, etc. The recent Massachusetts plan, which ... • 76. Speech On Vacation "Finally, we get to go on vacation!" I exclaimed as we got up to leave. My parents had already loaded up the car and we were ready to go. All morning while I was getting ready was the sound of suitcases being dragged around and the beeping of the car as the trunk opened and closed. Then I heard all of my other seven brothers and sisters get into the car. We of course have a huge car, but even with that it's still a little cramped. All of my brothers stunk up the car and it made the spilt milk smell ten times worse. We had an hour drive to the airport and then another 5 hours on a plane. My oldest brother, Andrew had already fallen asleep and my other 3 brothers were poking him and trying to annoy him but he was out cold. Because in total there are ten of us it's super rare that we ever get to go on vacation. But my dad just got a ton of extra vacation days so we finally decided to go on a vacation. This vacation is going to be awesome, as long as no one gets lost, sick, hurt, or complaints. Well maybe the complaining part won't happen, but hey, I can always hope. A long, long hour later we arrive at the airport and park the car. This is the dreaded part, trying to get everyone's things organized. My bag, of course, is a decent size. Andrews seems a little small but then again, he wears the same outfit every day and probably won't need much else. Then my older sister Chloe's bag comes out. It's huge! It seriously looks like it was about to explode. But it's too big, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
